If I can give this place less than 1 star, I would give them no star. I went to the location in 56th Street and the food was honestly questionable. My friend ordered the stuffed peppers, which was supposed to have 3 Peppers stuffed with cheese, when she got it, it had barely any pieces of pepper and it was practically ALL cheese. A $9 meal of cheese. Are you kidding me?! My boyfriend ordered the enchilada del Barrio and he was not satisfied either. They put some kind of sauce on it that he did not like and he was concerned because it didnt say on the menu that it came with that sauce. I ordered the burrito vallarta. The menu said it was a burrito stuffed with shrimp smothered in Verde sauce and a side of rice. The sauce was much spicier than I was expecting, which is ok, but what wasnt ok was that they put some kind of cheese on it. I had no idea what kind of cheese it was, but it was not good, at all. The only good thing was the chips and salsa they give you when you first sit down. I lived in Arizona for the majority of my life and my boyfriend spent almost his entire life there. We lived 30 minutes from the Mexican border and neither one of us had EVER had Mexican food like this. This place is NOT authentic. They have some kind of twist on the Mexican food, but for the worse, not the better. I dont know how this place has been in business for 21 years. My suggestion, skip this restaurant and go to a better one, like the one on Fletcher Avenue or the one across the bridge of the Hillsborough River. Authentic Mexican food is MUCH MUCH better than this. Trust me. DONT GO THERE!!!!!!!

Man oh man! Took me back home literally! We sat down and had drinks, chips and salsa served immediately. We took long trying to decide what to order but our server didnt mind kept coming back to check on us and refilling our chips and drinks. We finally decided and I ordered the enchiladas del barrio and my son ordered enchiladas Yolandas. I ordered enchiladas del barrio which are 4 chicken enchiladas (or potato your choice) topped with mole sauce and a thin piece of fried steak, a side of lettuce, tomato, avocado and sour cream round out this lovely plate. When it 1st came out I was a little worried because I didnt know it would have mole on it. But I gave it a shot and it turned out to be fantastic. My son ordered Yolandas which are 3 chicken enchiladas with a red sauce a bit spicy and a side of rice, lettuce, tomato and avacado. He loved his. I loved mine. Our waiter was a really nice gentleman. We came into the establishment because of a coupon I received in the mail. When I noticed we didnt meet the $25 min order he kindly suggested we order something else to meet the $25 min order amount. I declined but told him we would be back to use it. I paid $23.00 for two huge portion plates and drinks. FYI I am a big girl and when I say big portions I mean worth the $$!!! I ate about half. Took the rest to go. The enchiladas were packed with shredded chicken. So they really dont skim on chicken like other restaurants tend to do. Great job guys! We will definitely be back and spread the word on this hidden Mexican gem!

Went here last night August 27, 2016 about 8:00 and the service was horrible. The waiter was very rude and communicated with us as little as possible. Everything that was brought out to the four of us was put down on the table in a harsh manner. It was as if the waiter was extremely angry and plunked down, drinks and food that resulted in spilling some of it and a really loud noise on the table. I heard the couple next to us tell the waiter, "dont break the table". Personally, I got the feeling that the waiters bad attitude was toward only the English speaking customers as you could visually see and verbally hear his improved attitude when at other tables or when he went back to the bar with his co workers to watch or cheer at the soccer game. It was like, sorry we came to your restaurant on a Saturday Night and interrupted you. I am leaving this review in hopes that an owner or real management will see it and make some changes. We did not complain while there because, you know, they are handling our food. Outside all this experience i have to say we all really liked our food. We left a good tip, only because of the food and that is the only reason this review has 2 stars and not the minimum 1. Its a shame that the service is so poor, when you go out, service is part of the experience you pay for. I really hope they improve.

This review is from the new Brandon location this evening. Note that it was not very busy when we were there 1. Walk in and the hostess grabbed the menus and started walking away, didnt even greet or acknowledge us. I had no idea I was supposed to even follow her 2. Took forever to get our drinks, about 10 minutes. 3. Took 35 minutes to get the food. 4. Waitress came by with a soda and asked my husband if he had a diet coke and he said no, its regular. She leaves and comes back 5 minutes later... With a diet coke. 5. We got the chicken enchilada and burrito with rice and beans. Beans were watery, rice was dry, and the enchilada and burrito were pretty bland. 6. I had a good size chicken bone...in my refried beans! I told the waitress just to let her know. She comes back and says the manager cant do anything because it as from the chicken. I know a chicken bone is from chicken, however, my beans were far away from my enchilada and burrito and I never knew refried beans had chicken in them? 7. Got the check and they even got that wrong

The food here is actually pretty darned good if youre looking for guilty-pleasure, cheesy-riffic Mexican dishes. The margaritas leave something to be desired; the "strawberry" one I ordered did not taste like strawberries, but it did taste like badness and cheap tequila, so order a small one to try before you commit to one of the huge ones. (That was also the night I found out my stomach is apparently a top-shelf snob.) The service is admittedly fairly slow and disinterested, although this seems like it improves with familiarity; the more we go there for lunch and dinner, the more we seem to be recognised and served better by the wait staff, although its never exactly what Id call super friendly. Dont go when youre in a hurry. Go for dinner, order a side of (delicious) queso for the free nachos and try the burritos Guadalajara. Its a good, inexpensive bite of comfort food and a nice place to relax even if the service is fairly slow.

I went to celebrate my parents 49 yr anniversary and we were treated in a worst way possible. The young male waiter who claimed to be management was nasty and rude in every way. Bad attitude equals to bad service. Food was bland, I asked for a meal that consisted of a burrito, a taco, and a enchilada and they were all the same nothing but meat rolled into a wrap. The restaurant was on "Dirty Dining" and closed for having over 60 roaches in the kitchen and the dinner table we sat on was dirty. Never received this type of treatment in dining out. If you want good atmosphere and great tasting food that is freshly done. Drive about 1 mile and a half south on the same street and try Taco Sun. Very good food. This review does not deserve a star but I had to add it to post this review. Temple Terrace should be embarrassed to have this place in their city.
