Finally, a real cut of NY pizza is available in the district! This place is awesome! Located between Chinatown and Union Station, its in the first floor of an apartment complex but you cant miss it from the 7" tall Statue of Liberty outside of its door. Boylan soda fountain and a fridge full of other natural sugar sodas are what you have to deal with, no beer or wine from what I can recall. We kept it simple for the first visit, a large cheese pizza made to order. First of all, its freakin huge, as it should be. Giant pieces of pizza that stand up to the NY fold are what you get when you come here, just enough orange grease to make your brain question your motives but your tastebuds dont care and you keep eating til its all gone. DC is not a good pizza city by any stretch of the imagination, but Wiseguys is the best option, hands down.

In my quest to find the best New York style pizza in D.C., I have to say that Wiseguy takes the grand prize (for now). The BF and I, after celebrating Halloween at a friends house, wandered over to Wiseguy for some late-night grub. Wiseguy is definitely the place to go if youre hungry at midnight or need some food to soak up the drinks from a night out. The crust is crispy and thin, the ingredients are fresh, and the pizza tastes delicious. I tend to go for margherita or NY Supreme, but the Wiseguy with homemade meatballs is also super yummy. A slice of cheese pizza is $2.99, pepperoni is $3.64, and any specialty slice is $3.99. Service is quick and efficient. You order, they heat up, and you pay. If you decide to eat in, theres plenty of red pepper flakes, parmesan, and garlic powder to go around.

My husband and I went to visit DC and found this place with good reviews, decided to give it a try since it was close to our hotel. The pizza its amazing , very tasty and fresh, they make everything from scratch, clean place and friendly staff. We got a good deal $9.49 for two slides and a drink but the slides are pretty big just like an original New York pizza, you will love these place ;) best options chicken ranch melt, but we also had meat lovers, and mushroom truffle and all three different flavor tasted delicious ! Definitely coming back here if back to DC ! 100% recommended. Ps...they all have a mild spicy flavor ☺️

Wiseguy Pizza was good, though I heard too much hype before going. The crust is cracker thin, which was the biggest drawback for me. The sauce is very good — sweet, tangy, not too acidic, perfectly portioned. Slices are big and served piping hot though not scalding; big points for being able to scarf a hot slice of pizza without scorching your mouth. The space is small and a bit kitschy, though clean and well maintained. The service was top notch and the owner is clearly invested in his product and in his patrons enjoyment. Definitely good pizza, and probably better when you go not expecting the best pizza of your life.

Mediocre at best. Very thin crust, with ungodly amounts of heart attack-inducing cheese, which drips unappealingly, served on cheap white paper plates. The "Buffalo chicken" has barely any chicken to be noticeable (1-2 pieces perhaps)? drowning under cheese. At $4 a slice - definitely not worth it. Be a "Wiseguy" (pun intended) and stay away from this place. Oh and did I mention - the seating area inside has flies hovering near the windows, which makes you wonder about the hygiene of this place?

My co workers and I go like every 2 months as a treat. The Pizza is always good. But this yesterday it was 1139 hours and it was already busy. I ordered for everyone and my co worker had to wait on her pizza. So about five minutes the young man pulled the pizza out the oven and throws half of it in the trash and the gives her a slice (I guess that was a sign) but we are talked about thinking that maybe it was burnt. We get back to the office to eat mine pizza was good but hers was not done.

Im originally from NY and hold pretty high pizza standards. Id say wiseguys is the best/closest thing youll actually get to NY style pizza. Also they are open late just about everyday of the week so theres a win when you really are hungry and cant manage to find an option in your fridge. The only negative drawback is sometimes they dont heat up slices nearly enough, and I find that I have to heat it up once home. No biggie I suppose but they should probably get their oven temps up!

The chocolate chip cookies when the come out of the oven. OMG!! The pizza for me is nothing special. I never seem to get a hot slice. I only eat pepperoni so I guess its always sitting there. Ive thrown it away each time. Maybe one day. Ive been twice and they will only get one more shot as far as the pizza goes. My husband likes the Buffalo Chicken pizza. He tried it again the second time and said the pizza was made different the second time but still good.

I consider myself a pizza aficionado. Growing up in NJ and frequently visiting NYC, you get a taste for the good stuff. Trust me when I say Wiseguy Pizza is the best thin crust pizza in the District, hands down. Also, theres no pretentiousness at this place. Im tired of the fancy "wood fired" pizza places that charge you $16 for a mediocre pie. At Wiseguy I can buy twice the food at half the price and be a whole lot happier about it.

Were New Yorkers, we know pizza, and these wise guys do too! Traditional NY style, we had both a neopolitan pie and a slice of chicken wing, BECAUSE it was calling my name. The complexities and layers of flavor were amazing. We really enjoyed the fresh salad as well. MUST HAVE of you want pizza. While they dont deliver, it was absolutely worth the drive. Well probably eat at Wise Guys a couple more times before we leave this weekend!

The pizzas good and always hits the spot. I usually end up stopping in while on a walk through the city. I like that there are many options and you can purchase per slice. My husband was once given exactly not the slices he ordered, but frankly, they were still delicious, so we didnt really mind. Its a good casual pizza spot. Im not sure Id specifically go out of my way for it, but its high on the quality pizza list in DC for me.

Pizza au mieux correcte, mais lendroit est ouvert très tard et donc très bon pour les insomnies et plein daction. À distance de marche de la station dautobus, mais reste sur ses gardes.

Love the pizza but the fresh, warm cookies are even better!! I had to come back to edit my review...it was very disappointing to come for my cookies(as I usually do) and I had to wait 20-30 min because they "ran out,had to make more" !! You are a quick service establishment, you should be better prepared especially during lunch time!

Not too shabby! There are other, perhaps more well-known, pizza joints in DC, but this is probably my favorite. Feels real local, not like a chain. Its like a little transplant straight out of NYC. And the pizza tastes that way too. Prices are fair, slices are good, location is great for a day out seeing the sites.
