I grew up eating BBQ. I found it to be mediocre. I wanted to try their food. The lowest cost option for a BBQ sandwich was $13 and change+ tax. Not a good deal. The sauce was mediocre. It is also offputing that there is a gross/stinky dumpster is at the front door and there is no seating inside. I would not go back. I suggest Rocklands if you want BBQ in NW DC. If the restaurant wants to survive let alone thrive it needs to accommodate customer needs and requests. If the food was amazing they could be more rigid, but it is not.

I was first thrown off by the prices that this DC Native thought were a little exorbitant for this alleyway entry "BBQ spot". Then after youve spent $30, where do you sit to eat...?? Oh yeah, NOT THERE!! The young man at the counter was ill-informed of the menu items. The food was not good at all. FAT PETES is the place in upper NW !!!

Sign on front entrance says, If you havent called in your order, dont bother coming inside. After getting ill on their rancid cole slaw and 5 day old chicken, I wont be ignoring warning signs again.

The St. Louis ribs were perfectly smoked and seasoned. Great sauce too. The guys behind the counter were pretty fun and engaged.
