After meaning to try Nooshi for over a year now, I finally made the plunge, despite the mediocre Yelp reviews. Nooshi is kind of in a back alley off Barracks Row, adjacent to Tash, with a really cool street art on the side of the building as you walk toward the entrance. The décor was surprisingly hip, and well done, masking the fact that youre in a back alley. The rooftop deck was also very nice with an adjacent bar that would be really fun for Happy Hour. With tons of Sushi and Thai options, I settled on a Sashimi platter, which was fresh and excellent and the presentation was more upscale than expected. Overall, I really enjoyed my dinner and will definitely be back Disclaimer: I have been on the Paleo diet for the past few years, so my restaurant/supermarket reviews come from that perspective (ie no pizza reviews for this guy)

Went for a sushi making class and was excellent! George and Peter were the best. Quality ingredients and they were pros at showing the class how the make sushi. Im pregnant too and they offered me so many options that I felt spoiled versus missing out. Even made me a virgin mojito because I couldnt have sake. Would 100% recommend. Cute place, good location, and has nice outdoor space. Only thing to note, bring cash if you are taking a class...it wasnt even suggested, but service was so good that I wish I wouldve brought Cash with instead of trying to find an atm. Well be back!!

Ive been more times than I can shake a stick at. The food is great, sushi is great, and the staff is always nice and respectful. I dont know much about sushi, but for $7 California Rolls Im D.C., they sure are amazing. Sometimes if Im feeling frisky, Ill order from the Chefs Specialty rolls, which are definitely a treat in themselves. The venue is top notch for the price range in my opinion. Beautiful interior, with a conservative feel on the 2nd deck and a more modern approach on the third deck. Great place all-in-all, and definitely one to seek out!

Great Asian fusion spot with a cool rooftop area thats fun in the spring and summer. I had an Indonesian fried rice dish that was simple but devastatingly satisfying, and a refreshing gin cocktail as well. The staff were very helpful and more than willing to put up with my annoying litany of questions about various menu items before I made up my mind. They offer carryout as well--Ill definitely be going back.

Nooshi is a good sushi place. However, it is among those DC sushi spots I would call a dime, a dozen. Eating in, the staff is friendly and the place is always well visited. The sushi is good but nothing to write home about. I recommend you ask for a salmon and avocado maki roll and have the BBQ eel and avocado maki. Ill visit again but only because its slightly above average and close to where I live.

Nice ambiance, great sushi, good service. Rainbow roll has lots of tuna and salmon, buttery avocado and eel inside. Crazy tiger roll is outstanding, with real crab. They seated us immediately without a reservation on Tuesday prime dinner time. $15 per roll is slightly expensive. The entrance is somewhat hidden.

I have tried a lot...and I do mean a lot of sushi restaurants from coast to coast here in the United States. Not to brag but the entrees I ordered here were delicious. The rainbow roll...oh man, the fish meat was soft and was just perfect. The sushi grande platter is a must. Just wow.

Love this place. Its hard to find on Barracks Row (Off to the side of Tash, which is a great place it deserves a shout out in another restaurants review). Nooshi is usually empty so the service is great and fast. I love a fushion of sushi and Thai food so recommend the Thai iced tea!

First time there with a group of friends. I dont write reviews, but I must say that this place deserves one. The atmosphere was great. From the time I arrived to the momemt I left, the service was A+++. Everyone including the bartender waited on us. I will definitely be back!

On arriving I fell for the views, and then the appetizers and drinks arrived and I fell even harder. Surprises kept coming, the food was great and the atmosphere was so high energy that my old butt felt young. Loved the staff. Cheerful upbeat an accommodating

Amazing! Inexpensive, clean, fresh, quick and delicious! For an appetizer I would recommend their: sweet corn wontons or steamed edamames! For lunch/dinner: honey peanut chicken or shrimp pad thai. You really cannot loose here. Any dish is a win win!

The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant is really cool and Ive never had to wait for a table. The sushi is good--nothing too exciting and definitely not the best Ive ever had, but good. Definitely a good addition to Barracks Row.

Good service, interesting atmosphere. A pleasant restaurant to stumble across while walking around DC. Nooshi is located upstairs on the second floor of the building. Stairs are through a door along the side of the building.

Great spot for great food and good prices. We have always been taken care of and George is the man. They also have the best happy hour in Capitol Hill. Ask to be seated upstairs and enjoy the rooftop when its warm enough!

I love this place and go at least once a month. Get off at the Eastern Market metro stop. Definitely try the Phuket Noodle! Spicy but huge portions and enough for lunch the next day if it lasts that long!

Nooshi is a solid sushi option especially for happy hour. They have an outdoor patio that is topped off by very cheap drink options if you can get there early enough! Great addition to 8th St.

Slightly above average Asian food to fulfill your craving when youre in a bind. Some beer makes it taste even better. Its a good place to escape the eastern market brunch crowd on weekends.

Everything is really good. My orange peel beef was cooked perfectly. I didnt have to wrestle the pieces of beef into my mouth, which is typical of many places. The tom kah was delishes.

This place is the best. Hard to find the first time, its a small walk way along the end of a building. Great atmosphere and great food. I recommend the Phuket Noodles!

Fresh sushi, good happy hour deals (half off cocktails, wine, and beer from 3-7), decent service, somewhat reasonable prices for sushi.
