Ive been to East Moon several times in the past and had experiences that were good. Ive ordered carry out from here and the food is usually good. But today I went there for lunch with a coworker and had an absolutely bad experience. The food was fine. They were not busy at all, there were only 4 tables occupied during lunch. There were two of us for lunch. But as soon as we sat down, the waittress brought a menu and immediately asked if we knew what we want...I said, no, we havent had a chance to look at the menu or decide yet. She came back a few minutes later and took our order. The food came, the waitress refilled our water and I hadnt even taken 3 bites / forks worth out of my dish, and the waitress brought the check and two fortune cookies, and says "Okay, thank you for coming". Me and my coworker looked at each like "huh, are they trying to get rid of us?". The waitress was not leaving for the day on a shift change or anything. We continued to eat, and five minutes later the waitress came back and checked to see if the bill was ready to be paid - again, we are still eating at this point - and I said "Are you trying to get rid of us?". She said "no not at all", but it sure didnt feel that way! I guess we didnt want tea or dessert or anything else after our meal. If we did, we werent getting it now! Dont think Ill be returning there any time soon. Not a very welcoming experience. The sun has set on East Moon for me.

The food is very good and portions are generous (unless you are dining in and using a Groupon, and then portions are smaller). I like that they pack the chicken and the sauce separately when you order General Tso as carry out, so the chicken doesnt get soggy. Carryout orders are prepared super fast. Our favorite dishes are chicken in lettuce wraps, triple delight, and drunken noodles. For sushi, I recommend the Ellicott, kiss of fire, Tokyo, and dancing ocean. We generally get carry out, because the times weve dined here, the service is poor. The servers are not friendly and barely give you time to review the menu. There were times when they didnt bring enough appetizer plates and/or utensils for everyone at the table. Once the food comes, youre lucky to see your server again, even when the dining room is mostly empty, until they bring the check about halfway through the meal. Each time, weve felt like we were being rushed out the door. The parking lot is way too small for all the restaurants and other businesses there, so be prepared to drive around for a while (or leave frustrated) during prime dining times.

Just ordered food for my family. It tastes delicious, however my daughter was about to eat a piece of broccoli. She pulled off a staple from her the broccoli!!! I called and asked to speak with a manager, the man proceeded to ask what I needed. I explained the situation and he couldnt understand what I was saying. Finally he understood. I explained I took a break from ordering from them after hair was found in the General Tsos chicken. I order today and theres a staple found. I asked if he could at least take the veggie stir fry off my bill. He stated he could give me a fried crab wonton on my next order. The nerve!!!! I explained that wasnt even the price of the stir fry ($10.95) and I still have more veggies that wont get eaten since it could be more staples in the dish. He didnt care!!! Beware!!!! You might get hair or staples in your food!!!!!

I ordered spicy tuna, spicy salmon and and eel roll for lunch (look, I was hungry and was on break from an 8-hour pilates teacher training course!). I passed by the place on my way to my class and decided Id stop during our break for lunch. I walked in and was promptly greeted. Asked if they did to-go/take out orders and he said yes. I asked for a menu and proceeded to order. The order took around 10 minutes and was on my way. Got to my place of grub and was surprised at the pink ginger (um, ginger is not pink). Did not eat. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls were tasty. The eel was really good. I also ordered a seaweed salad (VERY fresh and seaweed wasnt limp/non-firm). Whenever I am back in that area, I would actually stop back by to try the other rolls and items on their menu. The food was fresh and tasty.

Food is good and the price is reasonable. Bathrooms are really nice. The atmosphere is cozy, chic, modern Asian twist. The food came out pretty quick as well. I went here on a first date and the sushi rolls were huge and hard to eat on a first date lol. The special rolls are very filling for a petite Asian like me. When I came with my family it was busy it was hard to get the waitress when we were done because we sat in the middle of the group of tables during valentines day. But Im general it was a good experience. Not my favorite sushi place but cant complain cause they have so much other food too

Chinese take out served on a restaurant plate. The customer service is way below par, the food is mediocre at best, and the sushi comparable to buffet style sushi. People likely return for the free salad and desert served at dinner. People who know quality sushi would not spend a dime here. Lastly, after eating here and expressing a complaint about food quality, nothing was done. Moreover, the staff all speak minimal English. Good luck voicing a complaint to someone who doesnt understand!

Im quite harsh when it comes to rating restaurants and such but this place has absolutely blown my expectations out of the water and I would recommend that everyone give this place a try. East moon asian bistro is the best Asian Ive ever had. The moon harbor is amazing. And the restaurant interior design and decor will keep you entertained during the 5 minutes it takes to prepare your meal. Also my drink must have been refilled a dozen times alone. Amazing service.

Ordered for delivery. I have eaten Thai food all over the nation, and have an expectation when I order certain dishes. There is a minimum level of spiciness, a level of tang in the food that is nearly universal, until today. The ingredients were there, mostly. So I expected a similar experience to the past. I found the food bland, lacking anything spicy, no tang. And, my Tom Kah Gai had nearly no coconut milk, if there was any at all. Do disappointed.

One of the really good Asian places in this area. Food is perfect. We have been there 20 times in three months (Yes!! since they opened). Service is great too. When you enter the restaurant, the interior is unbelievably amazing. One might not ever guess that a place in Columbia/Ellicot city might look so cool. The design, food and service beats even the so called best restaurants in DC Baltimore. I hope they keep the good food and service!

Pleasant dining experience, food is good and nice presentation. I particularly like the Thai Fried Rice and the Thai egg rolls.. Seating is very open, the booths on one side offer a hint of private dining. Waiters are a bit hurried but pleasant. There carry out service is good as well. They have a nice sushi bar. It looks fresh and appetizing. I am not a sushi eater. Overall its a good casual dining experience.
