As a frequent customer of this restaurant I am seriously considering dinning elsewhere. Although the food is delicious the customer service is terrible. First the cashier in the evening Ebonee is extremely loud, rude and arrogant. She always has an attitude as if she is doing the customer a favor , unless there is a manager present which often there is not . She often is on her cell phone or conversing with her coworkers using profanity. I cant tell you how many times I have heard how she cant stand working there . Then there is Tristan, he is just as rude as Ebonee.. Often when I dont dine there Tristan often gives me my order . He is not polite at all . The order is often missing something and this guy rolls his eyes and sucks his teeth and slams your food items in the bag . Like its the customers fault . He too often is engages in inappropriate conversations with Ebonee .which I personally dont care to hear about . The only reason I anm giving 1 stare is because of Melveon who always has a smile and always knows my order when I stop there for breakfast. Also Mustafa who is very professional and appears he takes pride in his job . I have witness him patiently waiting for customers to finish their meals even though it was after closing before his starts cleaning up . He always inquires if I need anything . But it seems lately I always seem to visit when Ebonee and Tristan are on duty. I will not recommend anyone to this place simply because of the poor customer service. As I stated in the beginning the food is great. It appears the managers are either not managing or just want bodies . If you know what I mean .......

the food was delicious I dare say fabulous...until I found a long dark curly hair in my food. I was going to panic until I identified the gentleman that the hair most likely belonged to. I saved the hair as evidence sensing an on coming lawsuit and asked the gentleman for his name it was Jeff Starr. Mr. Starr is a hairy man beast and the fact that he works in food is such a disturbing thought I try to ignore it. Mr. starr looks like what I imagined a child rapist would look like with long unkempt sideburns, and a chest pelt to match. judging by the length of the hair and its curly nature I can only imagine this came from either the crotchel or sideburn region of this foul man beast. the sideburns where long and honestly I felt as if he was attempting to recreate the image of elvis in his downward spiral days. His thinning hair made me feel as if he had tried every drug imaginable and was still doping up. His sideburns where like that of a civil war general, all flaired out to the sides and dark like satans heart. when he turned around I saw the hair from his back had fused with his neck to create a down puff of fowlness. other then that the food was beyond delightful and the environment was nice, I truly wish I didnt have to deal with the American werewolf in DC, but I did and I survived.

The worst. My husband and I were in the area to get his watch repaired by the jeweler store just across the street. While we waited, we decided to stop in for a quick lunch. I ordered a spinach sweet crisp salad with chicken, and dressing on the side. I had to send back my order twice - first time- my salad was drenched in its dressing, second time - there was no chicken. After spending nearly 30 minutes just to get my order "right", I noticed the strawberries were rotten. And into the trash my lunch goes... In addition, the cashier did not know the menu well. She told me the chicken would cost addition 50 cents extra. When she learned her mistake in pricing, she did not know how to correct or remove it from the system. As if those two strikes werent enough, I find it extremely unsanitary that the cleaner would wheel a cart full of dirty dishes and trash around the sit down area to clear the table. There was a cart full of trash stationed next to me my face for a good 10 minutes while I waited for my food. The whole experience was a nightmare. Never again.

I want to give a special thank you to Tiffany Francis of the Catering Department for delivering a fabulous Brunch for my organizations Thanksgiving Brunch. She is the ultimate professional and is definitely a plus to Corner Bakery Cafe. She knows her stuff. I received emails from the staff with comments like "the food was the bomb." It was truly delicious. The portions were really generous and we even had left over food for staff to nibble on in the afternoon. Tiffany, I hope the site shares my comments with you. I really appreciate your patience and you taking the time to guide me through all the questions I had about portions and what to serve at brunch. Everything was on point. The staff loved the bacon. Her assistant Dashawnna was great at helping me set-up the food ensuring that everything was in place before the staff arrived. Thank you Corner Bakery Cafe for delivering a wonderful menu , delivering the food on time and great employees.

First, I ordered coffee. I tested all 3 coffees, two were cold, one was luke warm. I alerted an employee that the coffee was cold, and he went over to check, stuck his finger in a cup of it, and tried to argue with me whether it was cold or not. He did then allow me to get a soda instead. The coffee bar was atrocious and filthy, and there were at least two roaches I saw, which the employee paid no mind to. Also, we ordered a grilled sandwich, which was still cold and the tomatoes were half frozen. It was still really good cold tho, thank goodness. Lastly, the employees were not very personable. The busboy was the friendliest, and the cashier smiled a little, at least.

We had dinner on Valentines Day. It was just down the block from our hotel so we thought we would try it. We read the menu and they had one of our favorites - Paninis and many kinds. The restaurant was clean and the people working were very nice. We had a great waiter, unfortunately dont know his name, but after dinner, he brought my wife a mini chocolate Bundt cake and me two wonderful chocolate chip cookies and said Happy Valentines Day. That was our first night in D.C. and what a welcome. When we return again, we will make sure we go there for several meals. Hope this review reaches our waiter so he will know how much we appreciated his service and gesture.

Really unfriendly rude staff. To the owner.. its critical that you tell your employees if they want to be rude they will be fired. Your cafe receives tourists and locals and if the girls there want to take an attitude its going to cost you money. Im not going back to there, not after the snippy remarks from the cashier to my wife. My wife was trying to be nice, but your girls are rude. Do yourself a favor, fire them all and start over. Build an atmosphere of customer service. If you dont you will be sure to go out of business.
