I dont really drink coffee or tea, so I basically came here for the crepes. I was trying to kill time in Columbia Heights, and walked by this little cafe. I looked through the glass doors and to me, the place screamed sugary sweet, which is just what I like. I ordered the Lemon Sugar crepe. Keep it Simple! The sweet crepes come with a free scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream. I asked for the vanilla ice cream. As the employee scooped out the ice cream, she commented that the ice cream was unexpectedly soft, but I told her thats how I like it. I think its better for ice cream to be too soft than too hard. Or not. Despite the softness of the ice cream, it still tasted like it had freezer burn, and was rather tasteless. My Lemon Sugar crepe came sprinkled with powdered sugar (naturally) and was topped with whipped cream and a lemon slice. My first bite into the crepe, I thought I was eating an unbaked fortune cookie, which isnt so bad, but where was the lemon flavor? The lemon flavor arrived during the second bite, and lasted until the last bite, and it was quite refreshing. Lemon flavored sweets somehow have a way of making me feel less guilty about what I just consumed. My main complaint about the crepe was the lemon slice on top, which was warm. It didnt seem like the crepe was warm enough to warm the lemon slice that much. Did they warm the lemon on the stovetop along with the crepe? Hmmmm....I dont know what the deal was with that lemon, but biting into a warm lemon slice is pretty horrid, and instead of serving me ice cream with freezer burn, they should serve me a frozen lemon, so even if the crepe warms it a little, it will still be cool by the time it gets to me. Even though my crepe was just okay, I really liked the space here, particularly since it was almost empty. I like to enjoy quiet spots every now and then. I would gladly take the yellow line from Crystal City up to Columbia Heights just to get out of my place and chill here for a while. p.s. I really like that they have an Easy Bake Oven on display, though I dont like how this reminds me how I never had one as a child.

Ive been looking above and beyond for good crepes in DC. After being utterly disappointed by the 4.5 star rated crepes at eastern market, I learned to just accept that I needed to look elsewhere (Toronto or back in NYC) for my crepe fix. Until I came across Coffy Cafe! Used my livingsocial $20 voucher and ordered two super salmon crepe with my husband. I asked for substitution of ham for avocado (not a big fan of processed meat). Our crepes were made on the spot and we were chomping down in no time. Unlike other crepe stores, their savory crepes were made with half buckwheat flour which creates the soft, spongy texture - similar to injera without the sour taste - loved it! They didnt skimp on the fillings either - my crepe was loaded with the perfect amount of smoked salmon, chicken, avocado, tomato, cheddar, and spinach - drizzled with their garlic mayo sauce - beyond delicious! The two ladies working behind the counter were extremely accommodating and sweet (praised me on my substitution request and personally brought over a bottle of sriracha sauce!). Even though I can probably eat their super salmon crepe every day, I Cant wait to return to try their sweet crepes!

Just went there Sunday Night and as soon as we walked in they told us the Crepe Maker was closed for the day, ok we didnt want crepes just coffee after 15 minutes of waiting for the coffee a teenage kid who was the cashier told us the coffees were coming up, just one made it cause they already cleaned the espresso machine. I asked for a refund for my espresso and he said I can make you an americano. No thanks. Service BAD. If you are closed, say youre closed dont give me a bad service because you want to go home work is work and service is service.

I love the Coffy Cafe! Its such a pleasant change from the commercial coffee houses esp with its retro seventies feel; lots of great crepes with interesting 70s style names. Wi-fi all over and many outlets.Very casual and laid back. Nice trendy, but relaxing music in the background. Its my second home away from home when I need to study, get work done online or just have coffee or tea with a friend. Lots of space upstairs in the back too. If you havent tried it please do so. Its warm and fuzzy and cool...all at the same time..

I like the concept and mission statement. It seems like it wants to be a go-to place for community memebers to meet. The menu is composed mainly of crepes which I was not expecting from the name or logo. I had a strawberry, banana, nutella crepe which was alright - heacy on the nutella (if you can believe it) but the coffee was really good. As any good coffee cafe should, they have plugs and wifi.

This is one of my favorite places in all of DC. Its really fun, the staff is wonderful, and its a great place to just hang out. They have great coffee, and their crepes are awesome. I wish I could convince more friends who live (more) downtown that its worth the trip, and so, so, so much better than any Starbucks.

I came in for a mango smoothie. The smoothie was refreshing and tasty. The wait took awhile which amazed me since the restaurant was not too busy. Everything was okay, just nothing special.

Coffee tasted like oriental medicine, too acidic. The caramel coffee something my girlfriend involved pouring hot water into some powders.

I like the 60s aesthetic here. The crepes are pretty decent. Good place to sit and read or work on your laptop.
