Where do I start? This was my first experience in an Iron Hill Brewery and hopefully will not be the last. This particular establishment is located in the heart of college town Newark, DE. On a Tuesday night there was only a 20 minute wait. I say only, because the quality of food, service, and atmosphere would have warranted a much longer wait in my book. All of the employees were very friendly from the moment we stepped in the door. We started off with a beer sampler of 8 different kinds of beer, all from their in-house brewery (I decided to go with the German Pilsner for the remainder of our meal). We were served a loaf of ciabatta bread while we waited for our food. Fortunately -or unfortunately, if eating bread before your meal is absolutely necessary to you- our service was so quick that we didnt even touch our bread before our meals arrived! For a place this busy, it was amazing how quickly we were served. We both ordered the Caribbean-spiced chicken which was served with black beans and rice, and sautéed spinach. The chicken was the best I have ever had, not only in terms of the way it was cooked but the flavor of it as well. The black beans and rice was a great compliment to the Caribbean chicken and the spinach was also wonderful. Everything was so good that I found myself soaking up the remnants of my meal with the aforementioned ciabatta bread. No dessert for me; my meal was satisfying enough that I didnt feel the need to stuff myself, although it was very tempting. As far as pricing goes, it was a little on the pricey side but you certainly get what you pay for and it will not make you think twice about parting with your hard-earned money. We were so satisfied with our meal we are considering returning before our vacation is over. Check this place out if there is a location near where you are going. You will not be disappointed!

I have been to the Iron Hill many times, and they have never let me down! This particular night, I was bringing friends that had never eaten there before. They are still raving about it! I had the Char-Grilled Flat Iron Steak. The steak is rubbed with red chile, and comes with the MOST delicious Mac & Cheese I have ever eaten. I almost didnt order it because, I dont like mac n cheese. The dish was also served with tri-colored peppers and onions in a Chipotle Lime Sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection; a task easier said than done....the service was outstanding, above and beyond expectations of a Saturday night. I wont forget to mention just how sinfully delicious the desserts were either!! This particular weekend was the launch of their new summer beers. I just had to try one. I went with the Belgian Witbier. I highly recommend it for its fruity citrus flavors....perfect for summer! BTW...I couldnt stop at just one! If you havent made it to Iron Hill yet, put it on your list; you will not regret it! Enjoy!

My partner and I ate here on a busy Friday evening. We had time for a beer at the bar and were seated promptly at a relatively quiet booth. The sweet potato fries with three dipping sauces were excellent. Our entries, meat loaf and a crab cake sandwich, were very tasty and nicely plated. Portions were ample, and we passed on dessert. We each had the beer sampler; $8 for eight 4-oz. glasses is a very good value, and gives the restaurant a chance to display its various brews. The service was first rate. We were staying at a nearby hotel and could walk to and from the restaurant in five minutes. One small complaint: the A/C was a bit overwhelming, though it was very comfortable in the bar area. I suppose one has to be prepared for that on a warm summer day.

Some of the best beer I have ever had. I love brewery/restaurants but sometimes the beer is a bit sub par. It is amazing here. Food is fantastic. They had some Octoberfest food that was just incredible and so yummy. My only disappointment was the bartender knew very little about the food or how the beer was made. Questions about things from myself and from the stranger sitting next to me got some shrugs and some I dont knows. A shame considering what an incredible place it was. Attentive service though. Just thought with the inspiring food and beer that service would be inspiring too.

This is my favorite place on Main St. I have not had a dud on this menu. Go for happy hour as many items are $4 $5 and $6. The pizzas are very good but I wish they would bring back my favorite, Santa Fe. The sweet potato fries are served with several different sauces. Be sure to try each one. Friends like the salmon, but I am not a seafood person. If you like quinoa then order it with chicken breast, it is outstanding. Entee salads are large and fresh. For dessert, try the banana bread pudding. Above all do not leave without trying any one of the beers they brew.

I left my credit card in the waiters folder. After I left and realized this, I called immediately and told them what happenend and who my waiter was. They said they would look for it. I called back the next day to see if they had it and they didnt. I was very dissapointed by how the management handled this situation because they never went to the waiter to see if he had it and clearly didnt care about my situation. Wont be going back to this location.

We had the beer sampler, the Kennett Mushroom Soup (A+), the Alsatian burger (A), a normal cheeseburger (I am told it was very good), and their seasonal Belgian, the Berotter (A). The fries were traditional and quite good as well, though the portion could have been a little larger. All in all, a really great choice for a meal; reasonably priced, good food, a good beer selection... well be back.

A great experience here, bartender was very friendly and you could tell the rest of the staff enjoyed being there. Although I did not get a chance to try all of their beers I would recommend the Witberry Belgian thats good for even the people who do not enjoy craft beer. Always loved this place for bringing craft beer to main Street but I am glad it follows up with great good and service.

I dont know If Im the only one, but I didnt really like the food. It was like a rip-off of Outback Steakhouse or JB Dawsons. The burger was over cooked, and they put way to much cheese on it. The fries were pretty bland and tastless too. They also barely give you much. Ordering a burger off the adult menu is like getting a burger off the kid menu. I would not recommend coming here.

Its pretty pricey, so the quality needs to be there. Unfortunately, to me it felt like an upscale Applebees. I ordered an expensive rib-eye steak, and it arrived pre-sliced and drenched in sauce. The mac & cheese was disappointingly bland. However, the house beer selection was indeed delicious. I wouldnt call the food bad by any stretch, but it definitely wasnt impressive.

Went on a Sunday for lunch. The food and service was excellent! But we were seated near the kitchen and I never realized how much noise one person could make tossing the pots and pans around. It wasnt very crowed like it is when we usually go for dinner, there wasnt a lot of people to absorb the noise. Next time Ill get a seat further from the kitchen.
