“best biryani Ive had in ages... !! better than Paradise... but service ll disappoint you for sure.” - Shifted to Norristown Recently from NJ. I am a big fan of Biryani (Especially Goat)... so was looking for Paradise but that was 20 Miles away from my place, so found Biryani city in google search… decided to give it a try. Thank god, I come here... first spoon of biryani in the mouth and it was like wow, why Biryani city is not in NJ or all over the USA? I tried only Biryani and it was really amazing.. right blend of spices & flavors... Goat well cooked.. with raita and salan. I am sure their other dishes would be equally good. Will try for sure. Pros- They allow BYOB. Great food. The price is moderate and it is budget friendly Cons- Their Management and Service. I entered and the guy at the counter did not even acknowledge me. he was busy in Delivery call and packing them. I sit at one table without even asking anyone. Service is really slow. You have to deal with it.

An out of the way treasure well worth going out of your way to enjoy. Perfectly prepared Chicken Tikka Masala. An apparently well kept secret to Anglo Indian food lovers as in my hour here I was the only non-Indian diner among a steady stream of other dining parties. Surely an endorsement of the menus authenticity if not so much the effectiveness of their marketing. The menu! It is actually funny--and on purpose. Apart from a vaguely remembered chain restaurants doubtless contractor generated attempt at wit this is my first genuinely wittily written menu. It deserves some kind of award. OK, not worth the trip on its own but a delightfully unexpected cherry on the top an already terrific Indian cuisine sundae. (The meal will be better than the metaphor. Promise.)

I came to this place suggested by a friend to have dosas. One really pleasant surprise was that it was open at 3 pm on July 4th, while most other restaurants were done for the day. Though the building outside could do a make over, the inside is well done and has a great ambience. The people working there were very pleasant and took orders very soon. The dosas came out even faster. It was great to be served fast especially since we came in for lunch late and everyone were famished. The taste of the dosas were great expect for two things. 1. The plain dosa was not hot, just warm, maybe was made a little while ago. 2. Mysore masala dosa was too spicy. Maybe I should have requested it not to bee too spicy. Ill definitely go there again for dosas.

Great tasting food.... loved the hyd goat dum biryani & goat sukha... I had called ahead for placing order for go however I also wanted to order for my food well in advance so that I wouldnt have to wait for the food once Im in the restaurant as I was in a hurry to drive to Boston... but apparently its their policy to not take orders over phone despite cases like mine... fine as we reach the restaurant the only guy servicing the restaurant instead of getting the food fast was arguing the restaurants policy with me... I dont care what their policy is... But kamal the guy managing the store sat me down and made sure that the food was served good and fast... also got a complimentary for inconvenience.... amazing place & great service

Oh my, good! I stopped here on impulsive Friday evening for the first time. Ordered take out for one. Friday night take out at 6 pm is very busy. The eat in area wasnt. I dont have a big appetite so only ordered fish curry, but how delicious. I chose mild seasoning. Just spicy enough with out burning. Love how they tempered the seasoning for me. A lot of places wont. The white fish maintained its shape, but melts in your mouth. Biryani City seems very popular, with a varied menu. If you like goat and fish, there are many options in addition to chicken and vegetarian. Extensive bread menu. Enjoy!

Starters: Very Tasty, 4 stars. We tried Panner Chilli & Veg Manchurian. Spiciness was of authentic Indian level; we had ordered medium spicy. Main Course: Gosht Biriyani was v dry & only average in taste, 2.5 stars. The portion, however, was quite sufficient even for a foodie like me. Avg rating coz the mutton was not tasty, had lots of bones, unusually hard for a boney flesh in biriyani. The biriyani sides - raitha was ok ok, & the tasteless gravy bowl had hairs. The $16 gosht biriyani was not at all worth its price. I liked the starters so might visit again for them when driving that way.

Since it has been long time I ate biryani and I was alone, so I went to Biryani City around 9pm to have a hot&spice biryani. I ordered spicy biryani. But I was totally disappointed, The biryani was served cold and not spice at all. Biryani taste was not as good as before. Chicken pieces in biryani were burnt. Lot of food color was added. The must biryani spices like cloves, cardamom, bay leaves and green chilies were missing in biryani. It used to be nice Hyderbadi biryani destination in and around Norristown. But it is no longer.

We have been trying several dishes from biriyani city over the last one year.I do not have any complaint about the quantity of the dish but a serious observation from my side is most of the dishes have the same masala. Only the name differs.Chicken chettinad,Madras chicken curry,Chicken masala,Goat masala,Chicken sousukha only differs in name with the same taste.Recently i tried their Crab masala, which again has the same base masala and also the Crab quality was below average.

But cut mirchi, chilli chicken and Apollo fish Chicken, goat Biryani really awesome. Last week I tried shrimp too its good. Dont try fish Biryani and chicken 65 they are not good. The owner tamilian he dont know how to serve.. He thought we are eating for free... Always his expression like that nobody cant help him.

Its food, the food is cooked South Indian Style so if you are expecting the typical northern style then you are going to be disappointed. We came on a slow night and expected good things since the place was rated 4.2 at the time. However we were given room temperature water without ice and the food and service were lackluster. I really hate writing bad reviews but I was really disappointed.

Food was good but the service was awful. The manager (Nataraj/ Nagaraj) was rude. Not sure how such people choose to run business. He should learn to give minimum courtesy and not be rude and arrogant to the customers. Food was good ! id avoid a Friday evening there! Might be a better place for a To-Go order ! Worth a visit for the food but the service sucks !!!

The famed restaurant doesnt live up to its reputation. Its all just the hype. The taste isnt that great and the service is very very poor. I was assigned a corner table and I had to wait for half an hour for my briyani to arrive by which time I had forgotten what I had even ordered. Atleast if the taste had made up for it that would have been a consolation
