My family and I visited here after a day on the beach. The front of the house was nice and we got a table right away. Our server was not the nicest or friendliest person in the world. Although not everyone is, when you have a job as a server, friendly servers are better for business. It also did not help that we often sat for long periods of time with empty water glasses and she often would forget or not bring condiments that we requested multiple times. After asking for vinegar for the 2nd time with long periods of not checkinging on us, the fries became cold. My son attempted to ask for honey mustard sauce twice. The food was extremely greasy. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Each bite she took, her chin and fingers were dripping with grease. She gave up eatting her food as it was a greasy mushy mess. Im not sure why it was so greasy. The fries were very mushy. Not sure if the oil was hot enough or if the restaurant should double fry. The brisket wasnt bad. Wish it had a better smoke ring but thats more a preference of mine. The jalapeno slaw was good. The mac and cheese was disappointing which is unfortunate as it pairs nicely with BBQ. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese tasted as it came out of a box. The meal we had should not have been 50+ dollars for the 3 of us. On a positive note, the salt scrub in the bathroom was nice.

Never coming back here. The food and drinks were good but the staff were SO incredibly rude its not even worth it. We went for the March madness specials and our waitress and the bartender didnt even know that they were having specials even though they were on a giant board behind them and said they would just take our word for it. When my mom tried to order a drink that was a special for the second half, the waitress looked at her, laughed and walked away and never got her a drink. When I was in the bathroom, another table took my chair from our table and when my boyfriend tried to grab an extra one from the nearly empty bar, the bartender yelled at him for taking it. I understand if one of your employees is having a bad day and isnt a ball of sunshine but when the waitress, bartender and hostesses are all jerks, you need to reconsider the people you are hiring because we got up and left before we were even done eating. There are so many wonderful places to eat with extroidinarily friendly staff in Bethany, so I highly suggest you try another restaurant unless you enjoy spending your time at the beach with nasty people.

Bethany Blues BBQ in Lewes is more than great BBQ (which, let me tell you, it is GREAT BBQ). The atmosphere is really friendly and inviting, and the staff is awesome. They have great specials, and are kid friendly--all pluses. But what you should really go in for is their innovation in the bbq/comfort food arena. Chef Mike Rieley and his team are cooking up amazing food that marries classic barbecue with modern culinary know how. My husband and I attended a six (yes, six!) course bourbon dinner in November that blew our minds. From silky soups to a whole pig stuffed with lamb and a homemade cornbread stuffing, to a pumpkin cake, and some of the best bourbons you will find anywhere--this place is up and coming. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and give them a try. Also worth the mention, is their Sunday brunches, which are my favorite! My husband attacks the Pigs on a Wing (hot and spicy ribs that we could eat by the boatload), and I love brisket carving station, but all their food just hits the spot.

Bethany Blues advertises itself as the finest barbecue in Delaware. For the good people of Delaware, I certainly hope this isnt true. The waitress was pleasent, and service was prompt. The portions were (unfortunately) huge. Would have preferred smaller and tastier. The pulled pork and pulled chicken were both very tender - as if they had been smoked for hours/days. I cannot for the life of me figure out how the meat had managed to not absorb any of that smokehouse flavor - the taste was extremely bland. I thought Id help it out with the barbecue sauce. There are three types - the first two were like the meat, no taste at all. The third, labeled spicy had a little flavor (usually my wife sticks to the mild sauce - and she found the "spicy" sauce to have some flavor. Imagine how a fan of spicy foods felt! Either "Finest Barbecue in Delaware" is the same as "Best Pierogie in Texas" - or the ad is flat out wrong.

I did a small local hunt for the best burger night in town. Comparing some upscale places and lesser scale places. Bethany Blues monday night burger night is clearly the winner. The value ($5 cant beat it) vs the quality of the food is amazing. And the list of toppings and condiments is the biggest list Ive personally ever seen. Its a great social environment, only available at the bar with community seating (which i personally love) on monday nights. If you love a good juicy burger with a great bun and tons of options for condiments and you have $5 in your pocket Bethany Blues is it!! On other occasions being here has always been an awesome time! The quality of the food is great with a variety...the cedar plank salmon, pulled pork, pulled chicken...all melt in your mouth, I never know what Im going to order! And sunday morning brunch although slightly on the pricey side, theres plenty and i mean PLENTY of food!

Visited July 8, 2016. We were a large group without reservations but the staff accommodated us in fine fashion without much of a wait. Our server, Meghan, and the other servers who occasionally helped, were excellent. As someone who worked two years in a landmark beach resort restaurant in the area, I know how difficult these large parties of tourists can be. No sweat for Meghan -- she was friendly, prompt, and helpful. The food was also very good -- maybe not the best brisket or margarita that Ive ever had, but, make no mistake, good. The menu is large for a BBQ place; it was tough making a choice. My mom and my son really liked the crab cake and my dad enjoyed the ribs. Go here and enjoy the BBQ in downtown Bethany.

The last reviewer was a bit harsh.... Remember that location hasnt been open that long, they are still working the kinks out. I have been there twice and I thought the food was decent. Was it down right awful? Not even close. But it wasnt the most amazing barbecue that I have ever had either. Now from the restaurants that you have to choose from in the area, this is one that I would recommend to anyone. There is something for everyone to enjoy and for those that are tired of the same thing every night, this is a good change.
