Sadly there is no option for no stars. We have eaten many times at Bethany Blues and have always loved the food and atmosphere. After a long wait due to having a large group we were seated and our server was a trainee. Her trainer was there but not attentive to the point she forgot to ask about side choices, etc. Drink refills were slow and had to be requested. During the delivery of drinks one was accidentally spilled by the server onto one of the guests in our party. This was an accident and we acknowledged that it can happen to any of us. However, our complaint was that no one besides the server even acknowledged the incident or asked how they could help, make it right, etc. We approached the trainer who said she "saw the aftermath" but had no idea that the drink raspberry tea was spilled down his back. We asked that his meal be comped since this happened before our food came and they gave him a shirt to replace his ruined one. They did bring him a shirt but he was made to pay his meal. No one from the trainer to management made time to come over once to check in after they were made aware of the incident. Our meals were mixed up when they arrived. The checks were mixed up when they arrived. And the gentleman who had the tea spilled on him was charged for extra beverages. All these things are understandable for a trainee. But the lack of support given to this poor girl led to many dissatisfied customers at our table and the tables around us. After the fact we paid we again asked to speak to a manager and only then after we paid did she offer a gift card. We wont return. No need for a gift card. Customer Service is a skill and this place needs some serious refresher courses on how to run a business and treat customers.

I recently visited this BBQ joint on a week long vacation to Bethany Beach, Delaware; on the auspice that most of the reviews were pretty good. It was a mediocre decision. Beings that Im from the greater Kansas City area; I have an appreciation of BBQ far and wide, but this place simply didnt know how to do it. It started with their fried pickles, which came with a mustard instead of ranch dressing; but it was surprisingly good. The cornbread that came with it was pretty good as well. But when the meal came, the Carolina pulled pork was decent; the beef brisket was terribly dried out and wasnt tender at all (I had to basically chew it); and the traditional pulled pork was also way dried out and seemingly half burnt. Additionally, my partner in crime had a "21 day aged steak". She ordered it medium rare, and it came out almost well done at first. She sent it back, and the second one was medium to medium-well and she went ahead and ate it. But between my stuff being over-cooked and her steak being over-cooked; it was fairly apparent that they didnt know how to cook meat properly. The chef came out and apologized and the manager gave us a refund on the steak and on my meats that I ordered (we didnt ask, they were just being great people) and they gave us a $30 gift certificate to come back; but alas, we had neither the time or inclination after that visit. It very well could be I just ordered the wrong stuff (as they actively try to promote their ribs and chicken), but Ive learned that if they dont do the basic stuff right, you shouldnt trust what else theyre doing beyond that. My official recommendation is this: Youre on the coast, order the crab cake (as my partner did as well and it was very good).

I love both Bethany Blues locations (Lewes and Bethany), but this location is nice because its a little more intimate, with the same awesome food as the Lewes location. Friendly bartenders, great staff, and located at the Quiet Resort beach of Bethany, this is my go-to spot for barbecue at the beach! Whether you are looking for juicy pulled pork, yummy pigs on the wing, or a nice place to brunch on Sunday, this is the place for you and your family. One of the things I love about Bethany Blues is that its very family oriented, and I never feel out of place bringing my daughter. While their barbecue classics are always a hit with the family (especially my husband, who is a huge brisket fan), dont be afraid to branch out and try some of their more adventurous fare. The chefs are amazing, and are putting some fantastic twists on barbecue favorites! MUST TRY!

We had a party of 10 there on a Sunday evening. We were all happy with the food and atmosphere in general. The various meats that we got (pulled pork, ribs, steak, etc) were above average BBQ I thought. We also liked the sauces that go along. Our waitress was solid and responsive throughout the meal. Although they told us that it would be a 20-40 minute wait, we were seated in less than 10 which was nice. I thought the appetizers that we ordered were mediocre but the main courses were good. The ribs in particular were devoured by all I noticed. Two other standouts were the garlic mashed potatoes and the corn bread. Prices were fair and the restaurant was clean and pleasant throughout. A little noisy but hey, its BBQ not Mortons. I would return to this restaurant in the future.

Just a few details away from being really good. Brisket was flavorful with a nice bark and fat cap, just overcooked. St. Louis Rubs had a nice color and smoke ring, but they were about 45 minutes under cooked. They leave the membrane on the back n of the ribs, which makes it a little harder for the heat to get through to all the tendons. BBQ sauces were nice, although I like a little more mustard for brisket sauces. The fried pickles dont travel well as we got everything take out. I would try it again, but it would have to be better for me to come back a third time.

We ordered 4 BBQ delivered eggs for the appetizer. They give us 4 half eggs (we thought we should have 8 half eggs). We asked the waitress and she said "this is 4 deliverer eggs". 4 half eggs equals 2 eggs, but they said its 4 eggs :)) whats a joke!!! The waitress was nice but careless about customers. She rarely came to our table and asked if we need more water or tea. We had to ask whoever came by for more water while we finished our tea and soda. We ordered the ultimate BBQ. Its a lot of BBQ and food. The BBQ is good overall.

Waited an hour to be seated - on a Wednesday night. Soup brought to the wrong person at the table. Meanwhile, they ran out of mashed potatoes and two of us had to reorder sides. Most unacceptable: Entrees finally came out after ANOTHER hour. And then, whoops, they forgot the kids chicken tenders. The basic fare for the rest of us wasnt worth the wait. Cant fault any one server or staff member. It was just a collective fail ... Sad.

Great service; was very accommodating and friendly with our group of 11. The sauces available are tasty and are great for their BBQ entries. However, my pulled pork sandwich looked small, and it didnt help being on a big plate covered mostly in French fries. Seriously though, my fave was the cornbread. Good Lord thats some fantastic cornbread. Get some cornbread.
