Sorry for the 3 stars... I generally love this place, but there have been a few times more recently that I have not been pleased with the food. About a couple of months ago I went there because I had a craving for fried calamari. I went in and ordered and waited. It took way longer than it should have been, but I was patient. I see the owner go to where they pick up the food. I see him look at an order that is ready for pick up and then hear him say to the chefs, "Dont over do it!" I assumed he meant not to put too much food in the container. So I finally get my food and go home. I open the container and its my WAY OVER COOKED fried calamari "chips!" Thats how over cooked they were. I ended up calling and told the waitress who picked up the phone to let them know it was over done and that I wasnt coming back to show them because I was starving. Hopefully she told them. Sooooo bad that the cook even let that go and even more so that the owner knew they were over cooked and STILL let it go. VERY BAD BUSINESS. At least the sauce was good.

As far as diners go, as far as introducing one into this part of the Valley, 67 Family Diner is a fair choice. I wouldnt classify this as a diner at all. I would call this a "family restaurant." The food seems hit or miss. They have early bird specials, which are nice. I came today for a quick bite on my birthday and the food was absolutely lousy, except for the baked potato (which is hard to screw up). I had the chopped steak with onions. I dont understand how you can fry onions and make them tasteless? The "chopped steak" was also tasteless and the texture was ... I cant explain. Ive been here before. Ive had other dishes. It seems that the style is to overfill the plate, which to me communicates a waste of food and mismanagement when it comes to inventory. Ive played it safe before and had the French Toast, and it came out fantastic. Thats all I can say for food. The staff is slow and unattentive. I bussed the table for the busboy, handed my dishes to him and didnt even get a thank you? That was strange. On a slow afternoon!

The food was ok, the dessert was not very good, chocolate moose is not a chocolate that is whipped and smooth its a cake. So that wasnt good. Then the wait staff asked me to have the chocolate pie. That was like a cool whip, generic , with milk chocolate in it. Not to good. Chocolate moose is to be soft and smooth and usually has a chocolate flavor. The club sandwich was dry and seemed like the turkey was not good. Not to happy with the food. Comfortable family restaurant but need to work on food alittle.

Food was good. I enjoyed the remodel. It used to be the Sand which man. It was very polite and very cozy. There arent many options in Seymour that arent palate specific (Pizza, Chinese, Mexican, deli, etc) so this is a great place for a wide array of comfort foods. If youre looking for a diner that has a variety of options that everyone likes, this is the place to go.

I absolutely love this place! So reasonable the meals are HUGE. Sometimes there is a wait but the staff is so friendly and the food is delicious it worth it! Beef teriyaki special is to die for and my fiance loves the burgers.And I cant forget about the breakfast the pancakes and french toast are my favorites.

Extremely poor service by the waitress. The hostess took our order, while our waitress was at another table telling them how over worked she was. After waiting another 20 minutes for the check, another waitress cashed us out. I have never had shrimp dish so over cooked.

The food is good and the owner was amazingly nice and while I waited for my take out food he kept offering me things while I waited. However i was there another time where me and 2 other adults and 2 children sat and ate and I felt like the wait staff was not on point.

I liked it better when it was the Sandwich Man, but I think thats just nostalgia. Of the several diners in Seymour, this one has the best dinner menu, and its open until 10pm, which is a plus in the Valley, where many places close at 9

This place is amazing! Im from Jersey and we crossed this place to eat and the phone was phenomenal. The waitress was very warming. The food was excellent with big portions. The owner came out to check up on us. An amazing place.

Good food. Crappie service. Stood at door for 5 minutes waiting to be seated. Then cashier handed us menus and told us "Go sit somewhere and some one will be with you soon". We sat and waited 5 more minutes then we left

Food is AWESOME, especially the ribeye. Portion sizes are enormous, waitstaff is friendly and they remember your name. A staple for those nights when I dont have time (or energy) to cook.
