I dont know why people arent mentioning the price of Sandy Hook Diner. Yes there food is good, but there prices are out ragious. I ordered Eggs Benedict and Pepsi (12 oz can) and they charged me $9.25 plus when the lady asked me if I wanted hash-browns, she didnt mention that they charge extra for that has well. So my food bill came out to $10 and change and the 12 oz can was 1.25. The portion size was outrageous as well. It wasnt a mountain of hash-brown. Wont be going there ever again. I could have gone to the Blue Colony Diner up the road and gotten a mountain of food for $8. I mean the plate hardly had any food. Realistically... I should have been charged $5 for food and $.50 for the 12 oz soda. This place sucks!

Great food, home-like atmosphere, super friendly service. The kind of place where after a few visits, they know your name and what kind of toast you like with your eggs. The original part of the building (where the counter and stools are) is a historic Worcester Lunch Car Company diner from the 1920s, and the addition (where the table seating is) has a great old-time lopsided floor. If you like eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce is much better than normal diner hollandaise. Dont forget: cash only!

Ive lived in Sandy Hook for 22 years now and cant express how fantastic this diner is. It makes you feel like youre at home, getting breakfast served to you by your family. Their corned beef and hash is excellent and hash browns are great too. Definitely check out the specials board!

Great Diner for Gluten Free Breakfast! On two separate days I enjoyed a great Corn Beef Hash and tasty omelette with gluten free toast. The waitress told me that they cook the GF food on a separate griddle. A classic old diner, worth the stop!

Place looks beat up outside and could use an inside spruce up but it was clean and the food was good and service was quick and friendly. Not outlandishly pricey but this is Newtown, after all.

A comfortable laid back dining experience in beautiful Sandy Hook village center. It is like having breakfast at a good friends house. The corn beef hash is amazing.

The place looks a little ominous on the outside but the food inside is delicious. Egg whites were very well done. Quick service.
