Sat ourselves down and waited a while, then owner came over and asked if we had been waited on yet, we said "no" and he said hed get someone right over. It still took a while. Order a soda to it was flat. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich and my wife ordered lobster mac n cheese. My sandwich came out it was only warm and dry without a lot of flavor. I finished my sandwich and my wife still hadnt gotten hers! We told the girl well just have it to go. She was very apologetic and gave it to us 50% off. Nice atmosphere with the river and live music, but needs improvement.

Three Reasons To Go 1. Great food - the pulled pork is excellent as are the sides - especially the coleslaw and collard greens 2. Great view - the best view of the river that I know of with shady trees and the park on the other side 3. Great service - the owner knows his BBQ and is enthusiastic and dedicated - beats the food mill experience. What more can you ask for?? There are none better in the area. Plus - you can BYOB which makes an already reasonably priced lunch or dinner an even better value.

locations and atmosphere was fantastic! Service was good and the food was OK. Not much for kids to eat here or at least my picky kids. Needs a little upkeep as we had an umbrella broken and some butts, glass and bottlecaps around our table. The prices are a bit high. Id like to try it again because the location is perfect. Perfect spot to eat some BBQ on the water if you dont feel like cooking it yourself.

Not Good At All - Brisket was tasteless, ribs had a funny aftertaste, loster roll was worse we ever had anywhere. Macaroni salad went in the trash can. The sauces were atrocious. All of them. Beans were OK, burned apple crisp dessert was a joke. Picture a deep-fried burnt pie crust. Unbelievable. On top of it, they gave half our order away to the previous customer. Never again.

It would be a gold mine if the food was good. The view is wonderful but the food is terrible. Very expensive for old dry tasteless food. I dont know how anyone gave it 5 stars. I would of rather gotten mcdonalds and brought it there to eat. We had pulled pork, it was dry & tasteless. Grilled corn was raw. I will miss the view but never going back

Loved the atmosphere! Went there to eat with my son and husband and really enjoyed ourselves! The live music and fire pit was a nice touch! I had lobster mac and cheese and pulled pork. My husband had a cheeseburger, grilled chicken and grilled corn. Gave four stars because I think the food could have been better!

Couldnt ask for more. Good food. Good prices. Good service. You know whats out there, so support your local business. Little bit of something for everyone on the menu plus a great view of the river and a relaxing atmosphere. Leave the rat race for a bit. Stop, breathe, and enjoy. We did.

What a dump! Soup served cold, cold brisket on a burnt roll, and a shrimp jambalaya with no shrimp!!! Im not kidding. Ive never written a review before, but I feel compelled to help someone save their hard earned money. Worst restaurant ever!

It was great! Dine right on the Housatonic River,great BBQ and seafood. Had 2 lbs on mussels, a rib-eye steak, corn and salad for $13- the prices are great. Server could not have been nicer. BYOB keep the cost down.Will be back soon!!!

I really LOVED RiverView BBQ, I havent gone their in maybe 2-3 years, but what I remember is that is was great. It gives you a homy kind of feeling, and its a great place for kids! Plus food is AMAZING, best burgers you could ever try.

The service was good , the views and atmosphere are great, and the food is good sometimes . Its really hit or miss. If you can deal with marginal food on occasion give it a chance it mught be good that night.

Just love being able to sit down right beside the river and eat dinner! Food is great and service is great. They let you bring your own alcohol. They are outdoor only and only open seasonally!
