Hubby and I get out together MAYBE twice a year. This year for hubbys birthday we decided to go to the Brookside because we went there alot when we were dating, but havent been there in about 10 years. I REALLY wish we had gone somewhere else! We were seated right away, service was a bit slow. The salad bar was less than adequate. After I had my "salad" and was seated again, I noticed a lady eating directly out of the salad bar as she was filling her plate. Gross but not really the restaurants fault. The waiter was icy and acted like we were bothering him by just being there. The room was very loud! There was one large party who was talking so loud that I couldnt talk to my husband. It was worse than the cafeteria at my kids school. I ordered a chicken dish which came with a side of some kind of potato which was COLD and a tiny bowl of veggies which consisted of about 4 carrot pieces and maybe 2 broccoli heads. The chicken was so so, I ate about half of it because I was hungry but it wasnt good enough to take home. Hubby ordered a scallop meal that gross looking and he ate only the 5 scallops it came with and none of the unrecognizable rice concoction they sat on. He asked for a glass of wine and the waiter pushed the "special" wine of the night, which turned out to cost 8.00/glass! My iced tea was all ice and I finished it in about 4 swallows. What a total waste of our night out, especially knowing that we wont be going out again for dinner until October for my birthday. With three kids and the economy the way it is, that is all we can do! I feel like crying.

I ordered a lazy man lobster dinner to the tune of $35.95. When I received the dinner I commented to my family that it was a very small portion. I proceeded to eat the dinner and it did not taste very good at all. I am not sure why it did not taste good so I called the waitress over & she took the dinner away. She brought me a menu & I ordered a simple dish of pasta. She brought my new dinner and then explained that she had to charge me the price of the lobster dinner ($35.95). I was in shock and the waitress was embarassed to even tell me. In any other restaurant you would have been credited the full amount and sometimes not even charged for the replacement dinner. I fully intended to pay for the pasta dinner.She said the owner,Gary M., insisted I pay for the lobster no matter what. Needless to say we will never go to Brookside again. They are unreasonable. We did tip the waitress 20%. She was great!!!!

Excellent food by a chef who actually knows how to cook. Wonderful breads. Depressingly funky salad bar. Retro "Im in the-middle-of-nowhere" atmosphere. Average age of visitor is around 83. Tuesday-Thursday offers specials that include an appetizer and salad bar, all for about $16-18. Horribly slow service due to the fact that there is usually only ONE waitress for two dining rooms. You could die waiting to get your check. Great food, weirdly run restaurant.

went there for easter sunday yesterday had a 3 oclock sitting buffe food was all cold dessert table was in one of the booths very tacky watress were eatin in the line while people still eatening sat my family down walked away never ask for our drinks never ever goin ther again the food not only cold taste was no good the ade in the paper sounded so good 1 to 5 i rate it a 1

We went for a kinda big dinner party. Everything was ok. The salad bar didnt have a lot to it, the waitress seemed flustered with having a big party. The food took awhile to come out. I had the broccoli rabe and sausage over pasta and I wasnt really impressed. I added a ton of salt and cheese to make it better. But others seemed to really enjoy what they got.

Been going for 38 years and it is always delicious! Best meatballs in the entire world! From steaks to seafood, to pasta carbonara, it is always perfect! And the creme brûlée is a dream! They are also amazing people!!

Smaller dining area, a little chilly inside n small tables. 3 of us sat at a table for 4 and we didnt have much elbow or plate room. However, the food was excellent, great quantity for the price n exceptional service!

A roadhouse with great Italian food. The same family has run this place for over 60 years and they have mastered it. Rustic atmosphere, friendly staff and great food, even a salad bar.

Food ok, nothing spectacular. Ordered the lobster, came smothered in ritz crackers. Way more crackers than lobster. Dark and sort of dingy. Look like it could use a good cleaning.

Try the Chicken Parm, its the best Ive had in the area. Friendly staff and great food. Savory lunchtime specials are a good bet.
