My friends and I had breakfast at the Darien Diner on Sunday, May 15th, 2016. We were out of towners and my friend wanted to try a local breakfast place.This place had four star ratings so we went....I think it had 3 stars too many. The staff was friendly but our waitress inept. She forgot a place setting, and then my bacon, and my friends whole order. In addition to this, the potatoes were awful and so was the coffee..these are two staples of breakfast, to me. If you cant get these right, forget it. The pancakes were good, I only had a plain one. So hopefully they will improve on service and the hash browns and coffee.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is always good enough though some food items are quite good. For instance, you can design a great hot dog. The chili is among the best beanless chilis in the area. The French fries I had there the other afternoon were hot and crisp. I find their salads to be substantial and tasty. Breakfasts are terrific and you can get real maple syrup for good pancakes, French toast and Waffles.

Chicken sausage tasted pretty bad! When we asked for a substitute they told us wed have to pay for both. Spoke with mgr and he basically said if you dont like what you ordered too bad! Poor cust svc, diner level food quality. Diners set the bar pretty low and this place is no exception.

This would have been a 4 star but the service was less than good. The food was good, home style, fresh. The corned beef was super tender but sliced to thick so it falls out of the sandwich. Not so worth the good but definitely worth dessert! Pies are wonderful

The Darien Diner is terrific. Great food. attentive staff. Spacious and attractive interior. Love that they send out emails alerting customers about upcoming specials. Even alerted us to a magician that was coming who really knew how to entertain our grandchild!

My favorite diner. The staff is always super friendly and they always serve generous portions of their delicious food. They have a all of the standard diner favorites so odds are you are going to find something you will greatly enjoy.

Not only was the food amazing & although it was packed the food was out in stellar time, but this diner was one of the CLEANEST diners Ive ever seen. Job well done. We wish we lived closer because we would definitely be regulars!

Very nice family place, we stopped there in our way to Rhode Island for lunch my kids loved the place and in our way my kids insisted to stop their again, we did. If you looking for a warm family oriented Diner I recommend it.

My family stops by at least once every time we are back in CT. Always crowded at breakfast time, but they balance fast service without rushing the customer very well. Have never had a bad time or a bad meal.

Great food albeit pricy. The place is tiny so breakfast or lunch gets really crazy, so expect to wait. Try Rauls pork tacos! The sauce is amazing!
