We were looking for a seafood restaurant for the evening, but we had no reservations. It was spur-of-the-moment. Well, we decided on Rowayton Seafood, and boy were we ecstatic about our selection. We got there and the car was valet parked. Perfect. We walked in and were greeted by the most friendly waiter who offered us to have a drink and wait for a table to soon open up. I learned what a Dutch Gambrel house looked like, across the water, standing so majestic. The food was absolutely delicious!!! Our drink selection was perfectly made!! The service was hospitable, courteous and patient ... and friendly. Our evening was perfect. Loved this restaurant and it has and will be now one of our favorite.

New York City prices, lousy service. Our server, "Kelly 20" made no effort whatsoever to make us feel wanted. The noise from the rowdy (and vulgar) bar crowd spilled into the dining room, and was encouraged by an equally rowdy bartender who reminded of me of a hyper child on a sugar high. The food was okay, I had unremarkable overcooked tuna (I ordered rare, arrived medium), and my date had Scottish Loch salmon that was much better and prepared to the correct temperature. The setting was spectacular, but the attitude of the help and conspicuous lack of any manager ruined our experience. I will not be going back any time soon. Let the locals have it.

Great town, great seafood market, great food, great server, great view, very distasteful pricing policies. One of the few restaurants that has the audacity to charge for a refill on a club soda or a fountain drink! Mind you, I dont mind paying $ 5.50 for a coffee, but I do mind their prices for a drink that costs pennies. Paid $ 30 for a $60 Groupon and the total bill came to $ 100 for 2 people. However, 10% of the bill was for a few soft drinks? Go for the food ... order water to drink, !

Went for Dinner. They advertise valet parking but the lot was so small I had to leave my car in the street for valet to park later. My reservation was for 8p and they sat us right away. The place was so loud that I could not even hear the waitress as she bent over to talk into my ear. The noise was unbearable. Appetizers were good but small, main courses average, but dessert very good. Service good but not friendly. I would not go again!

Beautiful water view and a very attractive space. The food is solidly good- nothing special. The food is a little expensive for what you get, but the view compensates. What keeps me from returning is the service. Although our meal came out promptly, and the bill was accurate, we had a very rude and opinionated waiter. He was unkind to me front of my date, very unappreciated. At these prices, the place should at least be hospitable.

First of all the venue is amazing and the food is ok when I went there it was my first time trying it out. The guy was serving us bread and balsamic oil and when I look at the bottle of the balsamic, there was a dead fly! When I noticed it we are almost finish! I told the server about it and he just ignored us! Like nothing happended! Not even a sorry... Never ever again will I go back.

I used to go to this restaurant 15-20 years ago. My pallete has changed since then, I no longer find mashed potatoes smothered with butter tasty for example. My opinion is that they have not changed with the times and still have a heavy hand when it comes to butter, cream and overcooking the meal. I prefer Sails down the road (less butter! to contend with)!!

Been here a few times now. first, with a Groupon. The Chilean Sea Bass in parchment was awesome. Super delicate and buttery. My date loved it as well and the only thing she knew about fish at the time was Irish style fish and chips, which she also ordered and was super fresh. They run specials on the menu often so the price can be right for the area.

Had unbelievable experience from the incredible view and such friendly atmosphere to the food and the wine. Amazing appetizers and outstanding entrees. Contrasting flavors like the sweet and spicy appetizers put together by Chef Nick Bilello bring these dishes to life in your mouth. If your a seafood lover you must visit "The Restaurant"!!

This was good but not as good as the last few places we have eaten. I tried the fried oysters and they were over cooked. The tuna tartar was delicious. My husband had the cam chowder and said excellent. Also had the key lime pie and volcano cake both were excellent. Over fried oysters made this a 4 instead of a five-star.

Weve visited three times while in town visiting family and it has always been fantastic. Big fans of the lobster rolls and oysters in particular, but everything on the menu is very good. Staff has always been friendly, professional and very prompt and of course the view is spectacular.

If you are looking for the best lobster in CT - this is the place to go. The restaurant gets crowded on weekends, so during the week your seafood experience might be more enjoyable. Friendly helpful staff and nice water views, best experienced from the deck overlooking the docks.

This place is so close to receiving 5 stars. The food is just on the edge of being great. Lobster roll sandwich is very good, dirty martinis are fantastic, the ambiance is also very nice. Recommend the oysters rockefeller!

Its gone downhill. Our food was served less than 5 minutes after ordering (obviously not freshly crooked) and we orded grilled salmon. Thats a great way to get way to get food borne illnesses.

Decent food thats marred by average service. Though with lowered expectations you can enjoy a wonderful meal. Come in the summer and sit outside but prepare to wait a while.

Food quality was excellent; however the service was sub-par. The server was distracted and forgot to place our dinner order. We waited 45 minutes for our meals.

The food was amazing (particularly the spicy tuna tartar and the lobster/shrimp risotto), and the view of the marina was pretty at sunset.
