Worst restaurant experience in my life! Looked for a Korean restaurant in Danbury and based on reviews decided to visit it. We got there on a Saturday night around 6:30 PM. The 3 of us and another group of 3 got the two last tables of appx seven tables in the restaurant. We placed our order quite quickly and then we got our drinks and water and then we waited, waited, and waited for over 20 min...no food was coming out of the kitchen that all time except for a sushi pickup. Waiters were seemed panicking, owner telling them not to take any more phone orders. finally after 10 minutes we asked the waiter what is going on...his reply is that they are backed up and it will take another 30 minutes! BACKED UP for what? there are 7 tables in the whole restaurant. Apparently the wife is the only cook, the owner prepares the sushi by himself and they are taking phone orders...jeez hire some help or dont take any phone orders at all, people drove all the way to your restaurant so please have the courtesy to serve them on time. This place is not only a disgrace to Korean food and hospitality, it is a disgrace to call itself a restaurant. When a kitchen is prepared and well run, then Korean food should be served quickly and efficiently! This place ruined our Saturday night...we had to go eat at the dinner next door which was average but quick... Avoid this place at all costs unless you plan on going on a very slow night and make sure you ask your waiter how long the wait is for the food...

Never had Korean food before, but decided to try Edo II since Ive driven by this place frequently. Everything was fresh and plated up nicely. I dont have much of a basis for comparison to other Korean places, but I will say that I liked it quite a bit and will come back. I had the gobdol bibimbap bowl which was really nice; it really sizzled. My date had nabe udon off the Japanese menu, which she really liked. We shared steamed gyoza appetizers and thought these were quite good; they didnt taste as doughy as some weve had over the years. Two knocks, both easily resolved. First, the two waiters were young, inexperienced and not familiar with the menu; the owner/chef came out and answered our questions promptly, however. Second, the green tea ice cream dessert appeared to be purchased and not made on site -- it could very well have been those little frozen nuggets of green tea ice cream in breading that they used to sell at Trader Joes.

Looks like this is your only choice in Danbury for Korean, youre lucky you got a good one! As a frequent traveler and husband of a wonderful Korean women I get my fare share of amazing Korean food. Edo II was just perfect and just what I was looking for that night. The restaurant was clean and well designed, staff was very friendly and attentive. I went straight for the Korean side of the menu and was pleased with the selection; youd find most of the common Korean dishes listed. I went with the Dae-ji Bul-go-gi. It was presented beautifully and with a nice set of small sides. The portion was way to large for me (easily enough for two) and I guess for the size its price was acceptable. If I ever come back to Danbury this place will be on my list for a return meal! P.S. Parking looks limited, and the seating is limited. No alcohol, but you can bring in your own.

Holy Gobdols! I have wanted to try Edo II for quite some time and I am so happy we went there for family dinner night tonight. The restaurant is very small and cozy and you feel like youre having a family meal at home. The service is friendly, attentive, and unintrusive. Our kids have seafood and nut allergies and they graciously reviewed what we ordered for them to make sure. We had miso soup appetizer with kimchi and assorted vegetable tidbits. For main course we had 3 sizzling Gobdols: the kids shared the organic brown rice with pork, my wife had the shrimp, and I had the bibimbab with pork. They were sizzling, fresh, colorful, flavorful, and delicious. The kids aged 9 and 6 finished their Gobdol without any urging and they kept saying on the way back home how much they loved it. We cant wait to be back!

Edo II is a tiny little place, with just 6 tables and 2 seats at a bar, but its a classic kind of small. We ordered 3 dishes: a Korean pancake, a tofu bimbibap, and a stone bowl potato-noodle dish with shrimp that I forget the name of. The pancakes where somewhat bland without their dipping sauce, while I found the sauce itself more vinegary than anything else. It may be a matter of taste, but I was not a fan. Conversely, I did like the bimbibap, especially after adding some of the spicy red sauce you seem to find at Korean places. My father didnt like his noodle dish, but I suspect thats because he didnt add much of the sauce, since he found it too spicy. Id recommend checking this place out if you like spicy food. Otherwise, maybe try one of their soups or give it a pass.

This is the best Korean food in all of Fairfield county The owner is one of the nicest people ever and the sushi is made right before you the best sushi is the Matrix then comes on the dinner The service is just amazing and seems to always being focused on the task at hand Their best dinner is the Jaekuki a spicy korean pork that is covered with a nice spicy sauce and lots of vegis One of the best parts is how it is nice and little so you dont have to scream to hear other people in your party. Also be sure to as about the dessert ;)

Best Korean family run restaurant in danbury.Food was incredible I had the gobdul as my main dish and I had some rolls for appetizer both were fresh and amazing. This place is also BYOB so bring in some wine or a beer they will supply the glasses. Its a nice small cozy place to hang out I like going there during the week because it dose get crowded on the weekend. PS. Parking is also limited so if the parking lot is full restaurant is full, they have enough parking just for the amount of people it holds

"this is a cozy small building that has about 10 -12 tables and a 4-seater sushi bar. jay and his wife jenny are very friendly and most accomodating. i like to go there just for the friendly vibe. but the main reason is the food. he works hard to make it authentic korean food. sushi is fresh are delicious. the korean food are friendly to the american palate. i""ve been a regular since he opened."

This restaurant was great. It is very small but it is perfect. I had steamed shrimp shumai and two sushi rolls. The fish was extremely fresh and the flavors were bold. The sushi chef was friendly and the sushi bar is right there so you can see the fresh fish. They have a lot of creative roll choices. I would 100% recommend this place and go back.

By far the best Sushi and Korean food in all of Danbury. Sushi is super fresh and beautifully presented, best in all of the greater Danbury area. Korean food is amazing too, but I believe it may be your only choice in the area. The Gobdol, Bimbap, Bulgogi and spicy marinated pork BBQ Jagush(SP) were all amazing. Really liked the BYOB too!
