This is a review of the SERVICE I DIDNT EAT THERE because of the beyond obnoxious treatment. I wanted to go with my daughter for FATHERS DAY for breakfast because she works in the evening at a restaurant herself. I CALLED BEFORE and asked if we come at 1:30, would it be OK. (seeing they close at 2 and Im trying to be considerate and not show up at the last minute) I was told yes by the woman who answered the phone. I drove up from New York to meet my daughter. When we arrived (1:33), we are told they are closed. I explained that I called and was told it would be fine. The person who greeted us went to another server who SLAMMED HER HANDS ON THE COUNTER and then began to argue that they cant seat people after 1:30. After a few minutes of listening to the 3 employees argue over us, we said we are leaving, then another woman came over and said I didnt know you were the people who called and I said it was ok, so you can stay. We sat down (against my daughters wishes who pointed out how rude it was for them to argue about us in front of us). While we were looking at the menu, we heard the CHEF yelling at the server to tell us no lunch menu, only breakfast (we didnt want lunch so we thought ok) then we hear him yell at her to quickly get our order. Then we hear him complaining he doesnt know what we want yet (we had been sitting for 3 minutes and it is only 1:40) THEN I hear him yelling how they cant be seating people after 1:30 and we decided we HAD ENOUGH. IF YOU DONT WANT MY BUSINESS IM NOT GOING TO FORCE YOU TO TAKE IT. If you are open until 2 but dont want anyone coming in the last half hour, CHANGE YOUR HOURS TO 1:30. Ive never been so rudely treated in my 55 years. Happy go to hell fathers day with my daughter from Sonny Side Up! My daughter JUST MOVED TO DANBURY and was looking for a place to eat breakfast near her. It takes a lot to get a loyal lifetime customer, but only a minute to lose one for life. You lost one.

We were told to sit anywhere, sat at the only table open next to the window. Blonde employee said loud enough that "they sat at the large table" ..two of us...later joined by 4 family members... Very rude to have made that comment. Food was good, place looks disgusting seriously needs to be cleaned and painted. Front ice machine needs to be moved ..noise it puts out is very loud and distracting. Definitely got quite busy (we arrived just before 8am) by 830-9am people are waiting. May return but staff needs to learn to be polite.

Sonnys gets my votes for several reason. First of all the food was very good. I loved the southern-style grits and biscuits and gravy. Second the staff is very friendly and very courteous. I love the fact that Sonny the owner comes out of the kitchen to talk to everybody and makes everybody feel very welcome. Even all of the regular customers are very friendly and talk to you. This was my first time visiting this restaurant but it definitely will not be my last.

Wonderful hole-in-the-wall spot for breakfast and lunch. The food comes out really fast and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Not to mention, the prices are very reasonable, and we always leave really full. If youre looking for a little local place to have breakfast, definitely stop in to Sonnys. And the biscuits and gravy are fantastic for being up north!

Tight little space with a wait if your there when it busy. Food is well worth the wait. Staff is very friendly; cook comes to check on tables once there is a lull in the kitchen..good sign that he cares about the customers. Its hard to find biscuits and gravy for breakfast in CT These guys nailed it.

Ordered the steak and eggs and the kitchen sink ommelete. Steak was a bit overcooked for a medium but huge portion size for both dishes. Owner is very friendly and comes out to greet many of his regulars. Really good deal on Yelp with the 7% off.

Service and food was great! The owner and wife are there to greet you and help in anything you need! Prices are very reasonable and portions are great! Highly recommend if you have not made it by there! Try the pancakes and French toast!

Great value for good food. I love the bacon, egg and cheese on a grilled croissant. Very cozy, very kid friendly (the wait staff is especially accommodating with my toddler) and no wait if you get there before 9.

Yummy corned beef hash. Grits are amazing. Sausage biscuits and gravy are something you dont see anywhere nowadays. Apple french toast turnover things are AMAZING
