On our way back to Co. Springs from a family trip, we were really hungry before reaching Pueblo. So we used our phone to find restaurant reviews. This place had ratings higher than many other Pueblo Restaurants, so we decided to try it. It looked fairly busy but run down. Sometimes dives have good food though so we took a seat in one of the many booths with green duct tape over the tears in the green cushions. My husband asked about the beer selection and the waitress tersely told him it was written in the menu. I ordered the chile relleno plate with green chili sauce and my husband had a combo with the red chili sauce. She brought the plates and we had to ask for silverware...so she brought us a fork and spoon. I asked for a knife so she brought one a little bit later. We had to share it. With the exception of the chips placed on the table when we sat down (which were good) the rest of the food was mushy, greasy, brownish and old. My chile relleno had unmelted velveeta cheese in the middle. I stopped eating about 1/3rd into my plate. My husband stopped eating before finishing his plate as well. Our stomachs began rumbling before we even left the restaurant and we talked about how unreliable the online reviews seem to be. The high rating of this restaurant is a sham. Eat here at your own peril.

Their food sucks I dont know how this place got such good ratings I ordered the chili verde plate. I ordered the plate and all it was was Cold ass beans dry Spanish rice and chili no meat. So I ask if I can get it with the pork the waitress brings a very small bowl and fills about a quarter of it with pork. Now tell me why would someone go to a restaurant and order beans and rice and chili and pay damn $8. If that was the case I should have made it my self at home! my fiancés plate looked awful. He had a combo with an enchilada taco and tostada his enchilada was sooooooo dry. he didnt eat it. Im from New Mexico and Ill be honest worst damn food ever, Service sucked. Im never going back.

I would have gave 5 stars. But I cant I have been coming to El Nopal since 1989 they have changed over the years. They are not as good as they used to be but I come because I still like the food. My family and I used to come all the time mexican pizza or monster burritos were our favorite. Anyways still got love for el Nopal.

Since this restaurant is small and quaint, the service is more personalized. The food is authentic Mexican food, and the waitresses are kind, professional and attentive. The Prices are median compared to the food quality.

Good, solid Mexican food. Best Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood in my opinion, though there is some pretty stiff competition. Great deals and service for catering too.

Try the potato enchiladas at El Nopal. Good salsa, cheap, tasty food and quiet family-friendly atmosphere. Not fancy by any means, but always a good place to eat.

Would definitely eat there again. Relaxed & quiet atmosphere. Would have given them 4 stars but didnt like that they charged extra for refills of chips.
