Nestled among the quaint village shops of Historic Monument, this is the best little breakfast/lunch joint along Colorados Front Range. Only Boulders famous Village Coffee Shop even comes close. The menu offers a variety of skillet options that include the Coffee Cups perfectly prepared country fries. Aside from skillets, the menu includes an assortment of traditional breakfasts. The Manly Marine Meal is an unfathomable compilation of protein and carbohydrate on one plate, so bountiful I recommend it only for someone who just completed an ultra-marathon. Those with mere hearty appetites should consider the perfectly prepared country fried steak and eggs. NOTE: The Coffee Cup Cafe understands eggs. They are served warm and perfectly prepared. Ive seen the staff jump through hoops to get it just right for the pickiest of customers. In addition to great food, the service and atmosphere are what make The Coffee Cup Cafe such a favorite throughout greater Colorado Springs and the Tri-Lakes of Monument, Woodmoor and Palmer Lake. The place always appears abundantly staffed with young people who obviously love their jobs and enjoy working together. Customers get to start their mornings in the company of enthusiastic teenagers and young adults, working their way through the areas high schools and colleges, who are genuinely glad to serve them. It is traditional, yet young, hip and cool. I understand the owner is a young man who not long ago waited tables at this joint as a teenager. If the energetic atmosphere alone doesnt get you going, The Coffee Cup offers the caffeinated assistance of Monuments own Serranos Coffee. Prices are very reasonable. No visit to Colorados Tri-Lakes region is complete without a dining experience at The Coffee Cup Cafe. Five stars+++.

I took my daughter to the Coffee Cup for breakfast. I found a hair in my food. Good thing I am not easily grossed out. The waitress gave me a discount on my plate.. something like 10% big whoop. Anyway, to make matters worse, she re-rang up my order with the discount. I left the original receipt on the table and brought up the one with the discount. Well, apparently, the waitress or whoever charged my credit card without authorization for the receipt I left on the table. To say that takes some nerve is an understatement. I had to cancel my card since who know what else they would charge without my authorization. I called the manager several times to have the charge reverse and NOT ONCE did the owner have the common courtesy to return my call. So basically, if you like hair in your food and a staff that is willing to charge whatever they feel like it on your credit card after you LEAVE the restaurant and then an owner who is obviously not too concerned about how his patrons feel about his business - have at it. I think I will pass. Way too many places to eat in town with respectful staff and management ...and no hair in your food ... makes you wonder what is going on in the kitchen.... something that goes on at the register... I guess Oh and by the way.. been months and still no refund. Guess the only way to have the charges reversed is to call my credit card company since the owner of the restaurant is completely UNCONCERNED.... I will NEVER eat at this restaurant again... thanks for helping yourself to my credit card btw!

This is a post to PRAISE IN PUBLIC the service and most of all the Character of Hollidai P, Server at Coffee Cup Cafe. Ive been eating breakfast here, three to five times a week, since I moved to Monument over a year and a half ago. Hollidai has provided impeccable service and most of all attitude and sense of humor. Both of which keeps me coming back to this establishment to spend my hard earned Military Retirement. This next comment is directed to Barbara Mitchell, whom wrote the previous review. Madam, you are a Bully. Words count and words do hurt. Hollidai told me that she cried for about an hour over your words and deserves an apology. If you have something in your life going so wrong as to hurt a beautiful heart as Hollidais, then you need to re-examine how you relate to people. I was taught in the military that you "praise in public and berate in private". If you had a "problem" with her vocabulary and the use of a single word, "Absolutely," then pull her aside and express that. But not on a public site such as this. With all thats going on with internet trolls and cyber bullies in the world today, youd think that a local community such as Monument would be immune to this sort of behavior. Apparently not. APOLOGIZE to her in public. If you have a problem with this post, Id be glad to sit down with you and discuss your "Control Dramas"(Celestine Prophecy - Sixth Insight).

Ive lived in Monument for four years, and have never been a fan of this restaurant. The service is usually slow, and the food average. There arent a lot of breakfast choices in town, though, so i gave it another try with my family. Unfortunately we were disappointed once again. The last time I ate here I had one of the breakfast skillets, and the potatoes on the bottom of the skillet were burned. Not heavily browned, blackened. Not a good flavor for potatoes.Today my daughter ordered french toast and was served pancakes instead. She opted to keep the pancakes, rather than wait for the order of french toast to come up. When she got to the second pancake she found that it was completely scorched on the bottom side. My side of toast was never delivered, and my sons egg on the kids plate was served scrambled rather than over easy as we ordered. We dont plan to return any time soon.

This was a terrible cafe. I had a server by the name of Tristen. He disnt make us feel welcomed at all. When he served our food I found that the fries were soggy and they looked like they were freezer burned and not fresh. I requested that he take them back and take them off the bill because my child only ate one. No refills were offered and the food was terrible. Our server then proceeded to tell us that he was done with his shift and that someone else would be taking care of our table. He didnt introduce the next server and when the next server came she didnt ask how things were and only left the check. When we reviewed the check the fries were still on there after I had requested he take them off. I would say this was one of the worst cafes Ive ever visited. The reviews on here seem to be completely false. Dont waste your money.

No wait at 9 30 am on Saturday which was great. Good food, good service, good coffee, no complaints there. We both had coffee, they provide flavored creamers, but the coffee was also good black. Pretty typical food choices for breakfast, plus a few extra unique (ish) offerings. Only minor complaint was the server dropping the check early (a few minutes after the food came out,) which made us feel rushed. I know thats typical for breakfast places, but I expect it more at chains like Dennys and not a cafe. Overall, great experience, wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

Waitress was so rude. Sceamed at me in the middle of the resturant because I ask three times to bring napkins. I called her worthless never came to our table once to ask if we needed anything. Forgot everything. Never in all my life has a waitress ever treated me this way. Love the food manager was nice. Waitress should have been fired on the spot. I went outside to calm down besides being embarrass by this waitress yelling at me. Customers came outside and said they couldnt believe the waitress attitude. They said she should have been fired and I totally agree.
