The atmosphere is the only reason I come here on occasion. They have books & classic games you can read and play, me and my husband like coming here to play chess & listen to the music. I like that they have open Mic and a piano open to the public. However, Im rating it as 2 stars because the coffee is expensive but isnt that great, Id honestly rather just go to Starbucks and pay the same amount for way better coffee or frappes. Most of their food items dont taste fresh or are pre-packaged. Theres a lot of homeless people that come in, which is fine, but tonight a homeless man came in started literally banging on the piano for 10 minutes with me & my husband trying to have a conversation 2 feet away. We always get bugged for money or cigarettes and it ruins the coffee date. The barista wasnt very friendly, maybe it was a long shift but there was no smiling, thank yous or friendliness. She seemed very cold & annoyed. The bathroom is always disgusting, the locks are pretty busted, never have any toilet covers, theres tissue strung out all over the floor. It just seems they could take the time to clean up and make sure theres not random little kids or homeless people coming in to ask people for money or tobacco. Overall, its definitely not one of my favorite places to go for coffee. I was disappointed with it, especially after tonight.

For those of you who love coffee.. lol you really need to come hear cause the quality of everything is AWESOME!. The fresh coffee and variety is amazing(smells soooooo goood), perfect expresso shots, the works. If you love coffee and you know your coffee, this is the place for you! Its off the hook! The smoothies are awesome, tea awesome. They have live local artist who come play music, and its awesome! When you look into the coffee lounge its so relaxed and the colors and style are awesome, uplifting! I have been waiting for this place to hit colorado springs. Jives is not just an awesome place to hang out and chat, but a great place to study or relax and enjoy the free wifi internet. The sandwitches are GREAT. The weather doesnt matter, Jives is always nice. The store owner is awesome! He for sure is an artist of coffee, and a wicked guitar player too! If your in colorado springs, this is the place you need to check out. I recommend it and if you are in town and dont check it out- your missing out. Im hear every day, and its worth it every day.

I had the white tiger as the reviews suggested and enjoyed it enough to get 2. The barista was extremely friendly and I loved that he brought the coffee to the table. The food did not look appealing or fresh. In regards to the above review and the owners response, there are still dogs allowed inside & at the counter (and no they were not service animals and they werent even on leash) and the statement that this has been corrected is a lie. This is why I will never return. I went on a Saturday night and I am from Denver but Im sure the laws are not that different. People were smoking in the doorway. Dogs, smoke... Not worth a white tiger. I had read that they have music on occasion however what that actually means is that there are 10 different people playing 10 different instruments separately, not together and from different areas. It was like a bad band practice. I was there on a date to talk and found it to be a less than ideal location for any kind of conversation to take place. Wasnt brave enough to use the restroom.

The staff was very friendly. There are instruments available to play, although the cacophony of novices on the piano mixed with music over the speakers was not exactly a relaxing atmosphere. The other coffee may be great , but we ordered an Americano which was made with their in-house roasted coffee beans. They must use a very light roast not suitable for espresso because the best description I can give for the five-shot large Americano was what happens when you reuse a Keurig cup and get coffee tainted water rather than dark rich espresso. Truly it was the worst Americano Ive ever paid for even though the Barista had remade it and offered to remake it again. I imagine their other drinks are more pleasant, just steer clear of the espresso.

They let homeless ppl sleep and smoke in the back. They allow all dogs inside the coffee shop, not just the patio and then claim its owners discretion. Its not, its against health code and illegal. Ive been going here for a month - after not opening the store for 2 hours after scheduled opening, I decided Ive had enough. Management needs to have a system in place when an employee forgets a key. Incompetent ownership coupled with poor management forces the business to rely on customer sympathy. Not good business.

This place has amazing coffee and a chill, comfortable atmosphere - Id say the best in town. The coffee is fair trade, the sweet mugs and artwork are local, and the stage is always open for good musicians. The owner and staff are very friendly and sociable, and the coffee shop is basically always open. Ive been waiting a long time for something like this. Although this is pretty new, I come here very often- I love this place.

This is my favorite shop. The people who work here: Gwendolyn, Linzi, Maui, Dane, and Bri are amazing young people and are very skilled at crafting a friendly atmosphere. On Monday and Wednesday nights they do open mic nights, which are just so fun to watch. I really appreciate the owner too who is accommodating and enjoyable to converse with. Great atmosphere, local place, fair trade products, and AWESOME coffee. Drinking this brown sugar right now; its so nice I might have another. One thing though - the line is crazy because theres only one young lady taking care of everything and smiling beautifully the entire time. Great spot. Will definitely return.

Seems busy in a positive way. Nice flow of people. The atmosphere here is great. It seems like they might have live music some days. I got a caramel latte and was not to stong on espresso taste or to sweet just the way i like it. Its a nice realxing place and has wifi you can definitly sit for awhile.

Wonderful coffee shop in Old Colorado City. This place is the real deal. Great coffee, great location and friendly baristas. Frequent live music and open mic every Wednesday. It seems like every time Im here I run into an old friend or make a new one. Great hang out on the West Side.

I went here to meet up with an old friend, and it was a great time. The lounge has a very nice environment, and it was a great place to come and talk. I definitely would recommend it to anyone, come with your friends, family, or just come alone. Definitely will come back!

I love to go there for the atmosphere - I love meeting clients there for coffee, but my husband likes to make it his second office. I usually dont have anything but a latte or an iced tea, so I cant speak for any of the pastries they offer. However, I always go back!

Nice place and good coffee. I wish I wouldve been there for the live music nights but it was a good place to hang out on a rainy day. The employees were very kind. We sat around a table playing games and drinking hot tea and coffee. Very relaxing.
