Great food, good price, top notch service. I have had Sushi in some of the "best" Sushi places nationwide including Hawaii and several in Denver. Ive been to many places in Japan, Korea, Thailand and China as well. Of all these places I feel Uoki is absolutely the best over all. Some places have master chefs and are very expensive. I have walked away from those places with an empty wallet and not been very satisfied. Sometimes all the hype and techno music in most places seems to get in the way of the food. At Uoki the staff is personable, the service is great, the chef makes us feel like family and the food is very good for a great price. If you are looking for a fancy place to impress your uppity date this is not it. If you want great food for a good price with a laid back atmosphere Uoki is the way to go. I also must mention that while I am not of Asian descent but I love Asian food of all types and make it a point to eat it exclusively when I am in Asian countries. I cant say I am an expert but I have been very satisfied with the food that I have had other than the sushi as well. This place is great.

I had the worst meal of my life there last evening. The meat in the Bul Gal Bi was so tough it was inedible. I literally couldnt swallow it. I had to take the ball of meat out of my mouth and put it on the plate. I made the waitress aware of the situation. She removed my plate and brought me a small bowl of rice and a tablespoon of another type of meat. When the $48.00 bill came, I protested that I shouldnt be charged for the $16.00 meal I couldnt eat. She returned with a $44.00 bill and stated that she would make up the difference and, if I refused to pay the balance, it would come out of her pocket. She said that once they cook the food it has to be paid for. I paid the bill and will never, ever eat there again.

Mark is one of the most-dedicated sushi chefs in Denver, and he makes sure the food is prepared and served the way he knows its right. Many come just for the bi bim bob. The sushi is fantastic. There is a nice selection of hot and cold sake. Its a cozy little place about the size of what you might expect a small coffee shop or deli to be. Go across the street to Pablos for delicious coffee and pastries afterward, or treat yourself to Marks green tea ice cream or his must-try ice cream tempura!

I went to Uoki for the first time about a week ago with my sister. The chef (and I presume owner) Mark, was the sweetest man. I felt so welcome. He even brought us stuff to try that we had not ordered, and offered to make us a favorite Korean dish of ours that is off menu if we ever call ahead. The food was great, and I will definitely be returning. A great atmosphere, it is a mix of relaxed and elegant. The price of the food was reasonable. I highly recommend Uoki.

We FINALLY found good sushi!!!!! We moved to CO after living in Japan for four years. We finally found a place that reminds of us of our old home. Service was AMAZING! (thank you Sara) Food was even BETTER! What a meal! MISO SOUP was fresh! Get the Bi-Bim-Bob in the hot stone bowl (it is Korean). Then make room for a few rolls! I recommend the BRONCOS, the SUPER DYNAMITE, RED DEVIL AND the DRAGON. You will not be disappointed.

Honestly, I want to like this place because I live across the street, but outside of the nice Asian man working there, the staff is egregious. Ive been there 4 or 5 times and came with a party of 4 and they wouldnt let us sit at the "five person table" because there wasnt enough of us, so we had to leave. Sounds petty, but for a small, local restaurant atmosphere thats pretty absurd. Very unhelpful, non-existent staff.

Its funny, Ive lived in the neighborhood for about a decade and I go to Uoki all the time. I have never had a poor experience there. The one time they forgot an egg roll (heh. so did I) I got two free plus dessert! I love the sushi and sauces they make. Its not expensive but still very flavorful and filling. The staff has always been friendly and courteous. Completely worth a try. Their signature rolls are unmatched!

Mark is amazing chef. The sushi is sooooooooo good. Most of the time we go and have Pork Bul Goi Goi for lunch, however sometimes treat ourselves to sushi. The sauces are made i house and can even be purchased. I get a thing of the salad dressing to go most of the time with me. And fairly unknown the soy sauce in the low sodium containers is actually made in house as well. The place is amazing!

The sushi menu is very creative, and the house special roll as well as the nigiri we tried were fresh and really delicious. The owner was very friendly and shared a drink with us when we were the last customers of the night. So far the Korean items on the menu that we tried were pretty solid too. Definitly going back, this place has a nice, quiet, pleasant vibe.

The only restaurant on the block that is actually good. Everything else is either awful or simply passable. Mark is always friendly and I dont think there has ever been a time where our plate was served without several pieces of extra nigiri. I just wish I had a more adventurous palate so I could try more dishes.

I have tried sushi all over denver and never had sushi this good. I love the chef Mark. All of there rolls have really great sauces. The yellow tail is a must. Also if you ask for spicy crab hand roll, not on the menu, its amazing. Cant leave denver with out trying it. Tell Mark Maureen sent you ;)

Because thats what youre doing when you come here. Throwing your money out the window if you expect to be eating Korean food - -which is why you would go to a Korean restaurant after all. Theres no Banchan. That just about sums it up. They serve "Korean" cuisine. Not Korean cuisine.

Have been here now then a dozen times. Always a friendly staff. Anyone who says differently is either angry to begin with, or old and cranky. Mark the owner is simply delightful. His food is always excellent. If you like sushi, this is your best option for 20miles.

We LOVE this place! Its one of our favorite places to go for dinner and the best place weve found for sushi in Denver for a reasonable price! The staff is always friendly and food is delicious! Try the tempura cheesecake!

Stopped by here on a weeknight and was delighted by the place. Dont hesitate to try the bibimbap just because its a Japanese restaurant -- its great! Kudos to the chef and waitress for a quiet, cute little place.

The Korean food is good but the Japanese is sub par. I am shocked at the other reviews are so positive about their sushi but perhaps because I was there on a weekday lunch, I had a different chef.
