First off, Ive read an unflattering review of the manager/waiter Thomas. I have been coming to this place for 5+ years now. Thomas is a riot. He often jokes and kids around with the patrons. He brought a lady (in a previous review) an extra glass of wine because her BF "roofied" her. Hello! You just received you a free, extra glass of wine. Yes, his humor is little dry, but when its complimented with a free glass of wine, I would think youd get it... Apparently, this joke and complimentary glass of wine warranted a really negative review. Anyway, this place is great. The staff is always friendly, the food is good and the location is perfect. Dont let someones uptight inability to take a joke (and free booze!) detour you. If youre in the City Park area, this is the best sushi joint around.

If I could put 0 stars, I would. Went to Okinawa this past Monday and our waiter (said his name was Thomas) asked if I wanted another glass of wine. When I declined he came back with one anyway, then told my boyfriend (while refusing to acknowledge my presence), "Im doing you a favor" and said he put "roofies" in it. He then told him not to "chop me up into pieces" or something weird like that. I was completely horrified and left while my boyfriend asked for the check. When he confronted the waiter about it he said "your girlfriend needs to learn how to take a joke." Turns out this guy was not only a misogynistic jerk of a waiter, but the MANAGER of the restaurant as well. I will NEVER come back here and urge every self-respecting woman and ally of women to do the same.

Overall, a middling sushi restaurant. After we finished eating there, we wondered why we didnt just go to Sushi Den. The toro sashimi was $12.50 for two pieces, and it had a distinct fishy aftertaste. Not fresh enough to justify the price. Some of the handrolls were okay, others were also slightly fishy. The decor was stodgy and uncomfortable. I didnt care for the linen or the hardbound menus, especially because they were out of the first three drinks I tried to order off the menu. If you cant keep menu items in stock, print off new paper menus every day. Service was fine, not particularly good or bad. Prices seemed comparable to other sushi places. I wouldnt go back, just because there are so many better sushi places in town for a similar price.

Sub-par at best. I went with a fellow sushi lover and left hungry, unhappy and bummed out. The service was very poor. We watched our plate of 5 rolls sit on the counter for over 20 minutes while people looked at and breathed on it as if it were a display. When it finally made its way over to our table, our avocado was brown, the rice was hard, and everything room temperature. The mango roll was a nice concept, but it had been drizzled with a dessert-type mango sauce that made it artificially sweet and hard to eat. The atmosphere was nice, but for the price, you can get waaay better sushi in a place just a cool looking. Booo.

This sushi restaurant is such a disappointment. We were very excited when it came to the City Park area, adding a new dimension to the food in the neighborhood. We tried eating here multiple times with the hope of catching the "fresh fish" day, but each time we visited, the restaurant smelled fishy and the rolls, if you strayed from the spicy tuna or spicy salmon, were unpalatable. The sashimi was sub-par at best. Needless to say, despite the fact this is right around the corner, and our favorite food is sushi, we will never visit here again. Wed rather drive elsewhere for good sushi. Sorry, Okinawa, we tried.

Great and often busy place right on a busy intersection. I usually sit at the bar, although ordering is done via a floor waiter or waitress. The sushi is some of the best and the decor is very calming. Try to figure out the the wallpaper next to the chefs. How was it made, where do u buy it, and how did they install it (the entrances are only normal size)? We usually start with Edamame then a California role. Washed down with one of their cold Japanese beers. Ive tried most everything on the sushi menu, its all good, honest it really is.

I have eaten here about a dozen times now. Best salmon skin roll in Denver that I have had. Mackerel is always tasty. They regularly have different fish that are uncommon to find in Denver sushi restaurants. Prices are slightly lower than other places of similar quality in the area. My only qualm is that everything tastes so good I always end up spending double of what I intended because I cant stop eating!

Okinawa is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Denver. We either dine in or get takeout at least one night a week. The staff is amazing and knows what appetizer and sake I want without even having to ask for it. Everything is delicious, but my staple, go-to selections are the spicy crispy tuna appetizer; mango roll, golden roll, okinawa roll... just to name a few. Do yourself a favor - Dine here!

This place is a bastion of culinary expertise and style that other restaurants should hope to model. The design superb simple ; the ambiance open and friendly; the staff attentive and accommodating. The chefs are, without a doubt, professionals. This place was a wonderful choice for me and my wife to celebrate our anniversary and make another memory we will always remember. Jack and Dana Lewis

Ive been to Okinawa a couple of times. I love how they have several "special" rolls-- I always tend to get that one! My favorites are the NY Roll, Unagi Maki (I add cream cheese to this one), the Playboy roll and the Black Angel Roll. I usually get Miso soup from sushi restaurants, but Okinawa doesnt have the best Miso in town. Instead, I usually get the seaweed salad as an appetizer.

Sushi is a treat in my family. I dont take it lightly. Im very happy to pay extra dollar for excellent food and Okinawa is one of those places. There are many other options in the area I live but, I travel the extra distance to come to Okinawa. I love the variety of options. It seems that every time I go, Im trying something new. Excellent place for sushi!

Great sushi, very professional sushi chefs welcome you and say good bye to you, hardly ever have to wait, good prices, great selection, the service is always so nice, the servers work the tables as a group, so often you ll be asked for drinks more than once, but thats not a bad thing, we love this place, go about once a week.

Wonderful little nook. The miso was so great. Very rich in flavor. Seaweed salad was also very tasty. Great value overall. Large cuts of fish in the sushi. Sushi was smaller than what I have had at other places but they have great lunch deals. Wonderful staff. Definitely saved in my phone. Will be back many times to come.

The peanut avacado roll is AMAZING! So is the miso soup... Mmmm... :) We love this place - best sushi weve had in Denver, for a much more affordable price than many other upscale places. The atmosphere is comfortable, and I like all of the windows - great for people watching, but still feels intimate and nice!
