Menu quality and presentation suffered greatly as a result of new ownership/management. Its honestly pretty tragic, because this was one of our favorite spots to get very affordable but unique pub food that really stood out for its variety, fresh vegetable offerings, and general appeal. Ahi tuna sandwiches cooked rare and topped with thick pesto, red onion and feta? Not any more! 12 oz. baseball-cut aged sirloin, topped with Gorgonzola butter, crispy onion strings and served with sauteed sugar snap peas and a mixed green salad for under $15? Good luck finding that anywhere now, but you definitely wont find it here anymore. Now its just a boring bar with a small and boring menu, that cant cook a steak correctly even on the second try. Even the authentic Denver jazz musicians you could sometimes catch at Mead Street seem to have been replaced by extremely amateur local "artists," who stumble through acoustic covers that sound like they came from a beginner guitar class songbook. All these factors, coupled with stories of the fantastic former staff really getting the shaft when the place changed hands, have chased us away, likely for good, from a what used to be a true neighborhood treasure. Bummer.

Heres the quick-n-easy review. 1. Great pub atmosphere 2. Cool location in Highlands Square 3. By far, the BEST burger weve had in town (kills My Brothers Bar, hands down) 4. Fish-n-Chips (their signature dish) came with 2 measly fish sticks. They were delicious Cod, dipped in beer batter, but I thought that I had ordered from the weight-watchers menu. I complained about the fish portions to my waitress. In a snooty tone, she stated "obviously its not a problem to everyone else because this place is always packed." This just added gas to the fire. The manager, however, came out with another piece of fish as a peace offering. I thought that this was terrific service on his part. All in all, I would go back. Definitely. Im going to stick with the burgers though.

On our first night in Denver we asked our friends where they recommended for dinner and they suggested this place--one of their go-tos. Its in a cute part of town with lots of restaurants and boutiques and its a solid bar and grill-type place, with live music on the night we happened to go. They have a huge menu all kinds of tempting items (including a solid selection of craft beers), and I got a burger with a side of their famous green chili, upon our friends recommendation and both were awesome! Especially that chili, which had an interesting flavor and nice heat. We all enjoyed our food, and our server was friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable as well.

I just ate there tonight and I must say I will not be going back.. The food was horrible we ordered appetitizers and it was not good at all the chips for the dip kept breaking so you were not able to dip your chips and then we ordered deep fried pickles and they were not completely cooked.. Our group ordered pasta and I must say it was the WORST tasting pasta I have ever ate..Who puts celery in a pasta and not to mention they did not even give us any garlic bread or any bread with our pasta..I will not be returning to this establishment I am not sure if it is new owners but it was not worth my time or the money I spent on a meal that was not good at all..

I do not often drink, so mostly I go to Mead for the food, which is incredible to say the least. They have a soup called "Beer cheese soup" which is the best thing you will ever taste and is proprietary to Mead Street as far as I know, so you will not taste it anywhere else. If you want an incredible atmosphere with great food and drinks, this is your place !! The new owner has figured out how to fuse modernization without losing the feel of the beautiful old building. I noticed it is also very family friendly most of the day which was also very nice. PS: Try the healthy Chicken Wrap, its great !

My family and I have been going here for 5+ years. I first discovered sweet potato fries here and this was the only place I could eat ribs without getting sick. Unfortunately last time I visited the food took a very long time to cook and the ribs, which are famous in my family, were horrible! Over cooked dry and overall a disappointment. The waitress informed us that they were actually going to be discontinued due to the fact that the cooks didnt know how to cook them (what?). Its sad to see that what was once amazing had shifted gears to something a little less par that usual.

The food is great and the staff is very friendly. However, I have heard from many employees that the owner treats his staff like dirt and provides next to no training. I am never again eating at this restaurant. An employer who treats the people who run his business for him like dirt is not an employer who will be getting my business any longer. It is ridiculous to hire people to do a service for you, provide them with no training, and then to expect them to read your mind, with verbally abusive behavior following anything less. This is not how you run a business.

The worst food i ever tasted that a cook could send out to a customer! I ordered a cheesesteak that came to me with the bread having a texture of rubber! It was like it was nuked! Dont take me too serious this was the first and last time i go there i didnt try anything else so judge for yourself. The restaurant has a funny yeast smell like a brewery. Cluttered hideous speaker system i thought it was a pot belly stove! Service was great i got comp for my bad food but was done after that. Eat at your own risk. Maybe it was a fluke or a cook with a hangover

Randomly found this place walking through the highlands one day and quickly realized we found a hidden gem. My wife and I have now been here several times and literally everything that weve ordered (including sides) has been PHENOMENAL. On top of that, the customer service is always A+.. very nice guys and girls working there! Our go-to item on the menu is the blueberry compote chicken and waffles which is just mind blowing. Great white meat chicken and super crispy too (Im picky). You will not be disappointed if you check this place out.

Their website says "Happy Hour Every Day!" but the menus in the restaurant say M-F. I guess Sat and Sun arent days. Seems a little bait-and-switch to me. Despite that, got a $6.50 beer anyway, and got short-poured because they gave it a solid two inches of head... which they didnt bother to wipe up when it spilled all over the glass. So I payed too much for a sticky, small beer. Didnt bother to get food. Wont be back. Two stars instead of one because I do like the atmosphere of the place.

Kitchen closed 45 minutes early on a Thursday night.. Both bar tenders said they couldnt understand why... Not a great look. Beer was cold, thats about all I can say. Update, This place can not be trusted to provide service past 10:30pm! Second time in as many visits where this place finished service well before the posted closing time. 32nd has better options, if youre in the neighborhood late pass this place by.
