27 Things Denverites Really Want Out-of-Towners to Know About the Mile High City I just found that this bakery was named as one of Denvers best on a Facebook post that I read! 11) Voodoo Doughnut is cool, but Colorado is home to its own original pastry shops, too Dont get us wrong -- we were stoked to see Portlands Voodoo Doughnuts join our foodie scene. But prior to its 2013 arrival, Denver was doing its own doughnut thing with Glazed And Confused, Walton Donuts and Jelly, just to name a few. We also count Andrés Confiserie Suisse, Detour Bakery, Panaderia Rosales and New Saigon Bakery & Deli as some of our favorite non-doughnut places to find sweet treats.

Yum. This is a very authentic bakery. Arriving this morning, it looked empty, but that was only because things were just out of the oven. It smelled wonderful. So, we picked up a few different types of croissants and they were melt in your mouth. The almond had ground almonds inside, not just some almond paste. I will go back for a quiche to enjoy for lunch. They looked delicious, and hearty. Hmmm, I think Ill need to get a couple of the baguettes, too. I love real breads! Bring these in to your office and impress your co-workers. PLENTY of easy parking in this lot, so easy in and out; bonus!

Most amazing, authentic French bakery Ive had outside of France. Florence, who is Parisian, and her husband do an amazing job of providing the taste of France in the Denver area. The pastry sells out quickly, so arrive early. The amazing coffee, latte and espresso put you back on the streets of Paris. Such a gem, you hope they dont get too famous so you can keep them all to yourself ;).

love this place and the staff. They are very friendly and have great pastries and bread. They even have a couple of sandwiches. Not a big selection but a good selection. Small place big on flavor. Because YELP SUCKS I use google reviews for accurate reviews. So should you.

This bakery is AMAZING. They make every thing fresh daily with quality ingredients, some of the breads rotate daily which makes for a nice change from people making a million products (but not well). I think that if Detour Bakery wasnt hidden away it would be slammed!

Authentic French Bakery by lovely french couple. Other french bakeries in the area only make pastries, this place is a blessing, they actually make most kinds of french breads on top of the delicious pastries. Very friendly and nice to kids.

Their products are fantastic. My faves are the rye bread, epi bread and almond croissant. But the products are only a tiny portion of what makes Detour a treasure: Florence and Jeff are two of the best folks youll ever meet!
