I wish I could comment on the food. Unfortunately, I was not able to try anything. My party of three arrived about 7:30 on a Friday evening. This was our first visit, and we had heard good things about Tachibana. The sign in the entry said Please Wait to be Seated. There were several tables open, but all of them were dirty. So we waited for someone (anyone) to greet us... And we waited... And waited. For ten minutes we stood in the entry, during which time I made direct eye contact with at least three of the people who were working. Not one time did anyone greet us, let us know how long the wait would be, no one even came close enough that I could approach them to ask about a table. Finally, highly irritated, and a little embarrassed after standing there like a fool, being ignored, we decided to venture elsewhere...

One of the very few places in the Central Valley to get authentic Japanese food. They also serve shoyu and miso ramen if you have a craving for some good ramen but dont want to drive 4 hours for some Daikokuya ramen. Its not as fatty as Daikokuya ramen but itll do the job to quench your craving. Their menu has enough options so that everyone (even vegetarians) will be able to find something enjoyable. Depending what time you go there is sometimes a bit of a wait time but its definitely worth it for the food!

We are incredibly lucky in Visalia to have some of the best restaurants anywhere and Tachibana is one of my favorites. David, the owner, is very hands-on and crafts the incredible sushi personally. Ive never experienced better tempura; its very crispy without being greasy or over-battered. The sukiyaki and ramen are both complex in flavor yet simple in the way a good soup should be. Everything is delicious and actually reasonably priced for the quality of food.

Our favorite place to eat. Probably eaten there 200 times or more in 15 years always great. Have tried the others in town and they are also good but this food is at a different level. Maybe its the fact that an actual Japanese family owns and operates it. They have a secret item that is so good and is usually not on the menu, called yellow tail collar it is cooked and if you have kids that are picky eaters they will love this!

I waited over 30 min and the only thing I got was a miso soup. When I asked where my food was, the staff brought it 10 min later. They had completely forgotten about me. The service was slower than a snail and the food was not worth the price. I dont know if it was because I am young or if they didnt care. People coming in after me where being served while I had to wait. Not worth it.

Came for lunch. Four other customers were there. Waiter came back to us *five* times to confirm my order, which was the "Sushi Lunch". It then took thirty-five minutes to receive our food. Extremely disorganized vibe. Staff barely competent. We just got the sense that no one was in charge. Wheres the manager?

Amazing sushi and the only place to get good Ramen in the area. The food is very well prepared but service could be a bit quicker but the food makes up for that a bit.

Its a different Tachibana now after owners son assumed the helm. Some of the menu items and flavors did not move to downtown Visalia.
