I have eaten at Kabuki in the past and had good experiences but this was not one of them. First we ordered the Snow Crab Cucumber Roll and when it arrived there was what appeared to be a dead worm in the lettuce that it comes with. We sent it back and they were good enough to remove it from the bill. Later the Manager came to us and said it was a piece of tempura. Not sure I am convienced but at least some minimal effort was made. Second we had ordered some ramen. The vegetarian ramen had more onion and soy beans than noodles and the kale still had that overly earthy flavor. Meanwhile the spicey miso ramen had so much oil it it that there was a slick layer over the broth. Lastly the Hostess was walking by and I needed some new utensils. I tried to get her attention and she ignored me. I know its a little thing but after the worm looking thing it was extra annoying. I will likely not be returning to Kabuki in Oxnard any time soon.

Well, it had to end sometime. Our experience today was indicative of the beginning of the end. I have been a fan of Kabuki for years, but it looks like the passion is gone and the bean counters have won. Re: The Collection in Oxnard. In our booth, the seats were ripped, a 2" x 6" gap.. Possibly cheaper materials are used in the newer restaurants. The one front-of-house person could not keep up. The wait staff was very good. The bathroom is not the Kabuki signature style, but as good as Dennys. The chicken sukiyaki has been removed. The beef version has thinly-sliced, well-pounded cheaper beef than before. The old iron pots are gone in favor or tureens. The quantity of noodles is about 1/3 and the taste is just mediocre. The owner that built this chain would be appalled. I tried to find a way to contact corporate, but they appear work very hard to avoid hearing from me. Ill try again, but I probably wont be back to the Oxnard site again.

This place is over expensive for less than mediocre Americanized sushi. I have been to sushi places up and down in the Tri-County and this one makes you think their sushi is legit but for what youre paying you can find better quality. The service not the best either especially if it seems as though you dont have a lot of money to cash out and on those Friday nights or what not, this place is not even worth an hour wait. I have warned you all, please do not come here unless someone else is paying for you, heheh =P In all serious though, overpriced, less-than second rate sushi, and service which makes me shrug my shoulders. As they say, there are plenty of better tasting fish in the ocean. . . and at other sushi places.

With such a lovely & expensive website, youd think they would be able (& will) to have the menu selection available big enough to see clearly. Why would that be done? Doesnt seem like the customer is put 1st & theres something to hide. And even if the customer service at the restaurant is exceptional & everybodys friendly, thats just a feel-good veneer to get you to come again. Do you think I have too high of a standard to expect honesty, sincerity & being up-front. There are places of appeal to neurosis or necessities, and this place doesnt appeal to either one…for me.

Our first experience was much better on 12/3/2012 with a personable Thai lady for a waitress and fairly good food. Unfortunately, this Christmas Day at lunchtime we had the worse salmon skin hand roll EVER (very salty and dry) and a hibachi plate that was mediocre, if that. It did not help that we had a clumsy waitress, Cindy, who kept dropping stuff. We really had low expectations anyway especially coming from the San Francisco Bay Area where we have had world class Japanese cuisine but this further cemented our opinion.

They have an amazing happy hour with excellent prices - especially on their sushi rolls! Their sushi rolls are amazing and definitely recommend you give their "Lotus on Fire" roll a try if you like spicy foods. They also have great happy hour deals on their beer and sake. The only downside is that their bar area is extremely small and not a good place to watch sporting events, since there is only one TV.

“Execptional” Usually deconstructing and reconstruction of food does not yield a a great result. That is not the experience here. Traditional Mexican cuisine is interpreted with wholesome foods that have been presented in a very non traditional and sometimes magical way. We were delighted 21 times with novel versions of such standards as a Margarita, tamales and Mayan pork with potato...

I has there Tuesday night, after a short wait we were seated. My friend got her order in a reasonable amount of time,. She finished her food I was still waiting for mine. 45 minutes had passed, still no food. My waitress walked by several times and never even refilled my tea. I will never go there again. If you like better Sushi and service try I Love Sushi in Ventura.

One of our favorite places in the Collection. The staff is always attentive and friendly! The sushi bar makes excellent fresh sushi & sushimi. We have been eating there about once a week since the day they opened. One of our favorite choices for sashimi is the Omakase Deluxe or Omakase Special. Our favorite server, who takes excellent care of us is ♡ KIANI ♡

Went there on two separate occasions for dinner and both times waited over an hour after placing our order to get our food. Was told both times that they were short handed that night... Seems like thats the usual scenario at this location. The food is decent when you can get but definitely not worth the 1hr+ wait to get it.

I ordered delivery through labile . the ca roll was fresh and served in a nice box also the beef teriyaki. Was fresh . the meatcwas cooked just. Right sliced. And served in its natural juices and came with fresh crisp salad andcrisp veggies well worth the 35 dollars plus 2 cokes . what a delight to my tummy and taste buds.

There were four of us the other night, and we ordered four different entrees. All of us thought that what we ordered was very good to excellent. And the dessert churros -- blueberry with lemon mousse -- were simply heavenly. The restaurant is a bit pricey and a bit out of the way, but if you need Kosher cuisine and...

“OMG the BEST” What a fresh delicious burger. We had the California burger, the avocado on top the meat everything was perfect. I loved the sweet potato fries. And the prices are unbelievable! I am happy that they have a location closer to me. This beats all those Sheeshee burger places by far. Loved it!

I used to love going to Kabuki, but the service there has plummeted. My boyfriend and I were there for 19 minutes waiting to them to even take our order for our drinks. It wasnt busy, so we walked out and run in to our waiter in the front talking to his friends. A bit disappointing.
