Driving for several hours, shoveling snow to get into the drive, unpacking all the gear and then getting lucky with an early reservation at the Lodge makes it all worth while. We usually opt for dining at the cabin but old age and laziness blessed us with a wonderful dining experience. We were never wanting for anything. The staff are perfectly attentive and quick. Our food came quickly and hot... even when we threw in a last minute, kids will change their mind, order. Margaritas come by the pint!!! Love it. I would have been happy with just that but the icing on the cake was the tender and flavorful short ribs over a bed of broccolini. The char on the outside was a little overpowering and could have been done less charcoaling on the grill or blow torch. The kids pasta was more then generous as well as the kid calamari which is a half order but a full order anywhere else. Yes, for king size portions of fried food. The desserts are also very sizeable. The pumpkin cheesecake could have been a bucket sized oreo crust with pumpkin mousse poured in and filled with whip cream... this is a meal in its self. Overall a wonderful fulfilling and relaxing meal. We will be sure to make reservations further in advance to blunt the just getting there doldrums.

We have always loved The Lodge in Tahoe Donner, but recently, it has gotten even better! The service is outstanding, and the menu items so interesting, it is hard to choose. They have options for every taste and budget, that changes seasonally. I have been four times in the last two weeks, twice for lunch and twice for dinner. For lunch, we sat on the deck and enjoyed the view of the first fairway. I had the veggie sandwich once, and a grilled ham and cheese (Mulligan, I think?); both were delicious. For dinner, my husband and I split the rib eye and the house made pasta dish - a perfect dinner! We didnt realize the rib eye was served with fries; we would have preferred a mashed potato side, but since we had the pasta, we were fine. Our guests tried the meatloaf and brick chicken, both great; I had to go back and try that chicken a couple of nights later. It was delicious! We moved to the bar to watch the Giants game and Monday night football and a glass of beer. The draught choices are very good - the 21 amendment was fantastic. The bar is extremely comfortable and inviting. I cant say enough about how great all the staff were; excellent service!

Enjoy a beautiful little drive up the Tahoe Donner hillside, past sprawling golf courses, secret hiking trails and slow moving creek sides and youll discover the Lodge Restaurant and Pub, nestled on the edge of the Tahoe Donner golf course. Whether youre looking for a fine dining experience in the quiet ambiance of the dining room, a night out with the whole family in the porch or a shifter and hearty meal in the pub after a long day at work, youll find it all here. The Lodge is all about supporting local economy, so its menus are constantly changing with the season, though they keep the crowd favorites like the Shrimp and Pork Dumplings and the outstanding Short Rib on the menu year round. The Lodge is also the home of the best burgers in Truckee. Never a disappointment!

This is a hidden gem, mostly residents eat at The Lodge because we know how great it is. The menu has excellent small plates and delicious dinners. We are regulars and have never had a bad meal. The service is excellent - servers seem glad to be there and want you to have a great experience. Great ambience, sit by the huge fireplace in the winter.

Consistently some of the best food in Tahoe, or anywhere! Great servers, great bartenders, especially the Australian one, and nice people to sit at the bar and chat with. Google does have it wrong though - the kitchen has always been closed at 9pm, not 10 - but that doesnt mean the bar is closed ;)

Had no idea this place was here. I think it recently went through a massive remodel. We came for lunch on an amazingly sunny, summer day. Had the grilled salmon sandwich, which was awesome. Good beer selection. Outdoor seating with nice views. Definitely will be back.
