Went and asked about there catering menu I had to wait 8 mins for someone to help me. There was a cubby man talking to people from the bowling alley ( inside where shorters is) there was a young man cooking inside of the kitchen and a young lady Inside the kitchen as well. Finally when the chubby man came over I asked him if he can set a price for a plate with a piece of chicken and a 1 rib and 1 piece of tri-tip. I said I just want to taste to make sure i like it before I order. I told him set a price I will pay. He told me that he couldnt do that he said that I had to order the 3 meat plate with all the sides??? I said I dont want sides dont need sides. He said that is the only way I was going to taste it. So I order the dam 3 piece meal and thank God I did need to it was so so. The only thing I liked was the tri tip. Which I thought I would order and then go somewhere else for thr trst of the meats. I waited 5 mins after I tried the meat he never came back to see if I liked it. As I looked around I noticed that the young guy inside the kitchen was sweating real bad he kept wiping his head( while cooking) sick!!! Then the chubby guy who was sweating to walked right by me. I thought what bad service!!!! Thanks to Donnie s I have the best BBQ and she didnt charge me to taste the meat!! Shorters you just list 745.00 sale. Duh....

Stopped by here on the way back from Kirkwood after we finally settled on what kind of food everyone wanted. It is attached to a random family fun center, and the outside isnt super inviting, but dont let that fool you. This restaurant has awesome BBQ. They were still smoking at 7pm when we stopped by, and the owner clearly takes pride in his food. They were out of brisket so we tried the pulled pork and the tri-tip, both of which were really good. The sides were not bad, but the five stars is because it is really hard to find legit BBQ in the bay area for some reason. Tracy is pretty far from the South bay, but a friend of mine keeps saying that it would be worth the trip to get them to cater, so at least hes sold. I wouldnt make the drive specifically for this place, but I definitely want to stop by again.

TERRIBLE, CANT BELIEVE I SPENT OVER 100.00 HERE , THINKING IT WAS GOING TO BE GOOD. REAL BBQ DOES NOT NEED BBQ SAUCE NOR DROWNING IN IT . IN THIS CASE IT WAS USED TO MASK THE MISTAKE THAT DIDNT EVEN COME CLOSE TO TASTING LIKE BBQ. ITS ONLY OBVIOUS MOST CUSTOMERS HAVE NEVER HAD REAL BBQ BEFORE . SMOKED? Shorters still in business. Kinders closed. Dickeys closed. Need I say more? Just in case u cannot read between those lines, Shorters BBQ is the best in town and its not by default. Great Portions. Great food. Great sauce. Disregard the haters. Dave is a great guy and BBQs daily outside. He is here 99% of the time to be sure he provides the best food the customer would expect. He takes great pride and it shows.

Good food. Especially like the catfish. Grill outside smells so good driving by. Meats, chicken good. Almost like home. A little expensive though. Greens, red beans, sweet potatoe pie, peach cobbler...When you need a soulfood fix, and you dont feel like cooking...this is the place to go in Tracy.

Ignore the bad reviews. These people obviously have something personal against the owners. Who eats bbq without sauce anyways? Meat was juicy and service was friendly. Id make the drive from Sacramento if I wanted some good bbq because idk anywhere better or even close.

Best BBQ in NorCal. We stop every year we go to Yosemite as the half way stop. Last year we didnt get to go because of the fires and I sorely missed my June treat of Shorters. Support local business and upgrade you life by going to Shorters.

Friendly staff and that like home feeling. The food is spectacular. From the BBQ to the homemade desserts. Not a bad choice in this house. In a hurry, call in and pick up is available.
