Great location. Great menu. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the execution. It was obvious the young and hard working wait staff was not sufficiently trained to handle the fast paced service environment and high expectations of a Sonoma Plaza front row location. They worked hard but seemed under stress and it made us feel uneasy. In addition, and more significantly, my wife fell ill with food poisioning the evening of Easter Sunday after we had lunch there. She had one of the salads covered with grilled vegetebles. She was a litttle concerned with its appearance when it arived but did enjoy it(untill later). I had an excellent turkey sandwich. I wish it had been a better experience overall but it fell well short of our expectations. Perhaps we had bad luck, but thats more bad luck than we can affford. Be careful-

Great place for breakfast. Everything is fresh. I had the shiitake mushroom omelette and latte. The latte was piping hot, well balanced. The omelette was perfectly done with fresh greens on the side. Service: you order at the front and given a number, your order is brought to your table. They are very fast. I ordered, paid walked around the corner got myself a glass of water and as I sat down they brought me my latte, the food arrived maybe 5 minutes thereafter. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Be early for indoor seating.

I was born and raised in Sonoma and rarely go to the plaza. A friend invited me to lunch here. The food was very good. It was crowded as expected. Good for the cafe but the reason I stay away from the plaza. We shared a table with two tourists and did have a pleasant discussion. The patio in back is nice. I dont believe there is table service. You get your food in the front and take it to the dining area with you. The food was good, just not my type of atmosphere.

Purchased two small lunches - price 40 dollars - the cashier made it clear that I should give them a good tip which I thought was a bit forward and strange because you wait in line to order your food. The place was not very busy but we still did not have our food after 30 minutes so we left. We walked down the street to another eatery that had tables and wait staff, lower prices and great food. I will never go to the Sunflower again.

Staff are awesome. Wonderful cappuccinos - vest in sonoma county for sure. Flying goat is next then ACRE :) I do wish sunflower would give a discount for bringing in own cup and also I wish they were open later (3pm is way too early). And seriously WAY too expensive. But their cappuccinos are amazing so thats all I get there. Nothing else. I cant afford to live in the town I grew up in and clearly food is a close second to that :(

Not helpful at all. Nice place. But if you are allergic to dairy at all, then stay away. All their eggs are apparently made with milk and they dont know how to make or have the option of making them with a milk substitute. They even joked when I explained my allergy that all I could eat would be a hard boiled egg. Last time I checked allergies arent something to laugh about. Will not be coming back.

Yum! Great spot for breakfast. Their coffee is excellent. The menu is more european so youll find lighter options and smaller portions for some items. The omelets and breakfast sandwiches are great. They have a ton of outdoor seating on their back patio, and a few tables out front. After you enjoy your meal you can walk along the square and browse the cute shops nearby.

Great atmosphere and the food far exceeded already-high expectations. Sandwiches and waffles were good. Yogurt in the parfait tastes homemade! Some outdoor, dog-friendly seating in front (and non-dog friendly outdoor patio in back). Lots of seating but the line was unbelievably long by 10am on a Saturday. Show up by 9:30 at latest to avoid a long wait!

Great spot to grab breakfast before going wine tasting. They have a ton of items to choose from and my entree was delicious. It gets quite crowded, but the line goes by quickly. Service is efficient and friendly. I wish they had more than one bathroom because the bathroom line was a bit of a wait! I would come back again to try their other menu items.

Its a nice cafe. They have a nice back patio! The coffee is not the best and I had the chocolate fruit and cheese which was too pricey for what you get. It looked very fancy though:) We didnt have lunch/dinner but they have a lot too choose from. I will come here again because of the nice patio area and try some food.

The outdoor patio is a huge draw. We went out on a beautiful sunny day, so the patio was idyllic. They have plenty of water all around, so even if you are in the sun you can be cooled. Their food was pretty good. We had some traditional items that used some great ingredients. Overall, it was a nice meal.

Dont even hesitate for a second, go here and enjoy the delicious and fresh food. The location is excellent, right in the Plaza, and if youve got pets, the outdoor seating was perfect for bringing my dog with as well. The coffee is great and free to refill too. Youve wasted too much time already, go now!

A wonderful place to enjoy the scene and tasty food. Love to be in the back courtyard, listen to the fountain and meet with friends. The menu is diverse and there is sure to be a salad or plate that is perfect. The food is always fresh. The staff is friendly and accommodating too.

I love Sunflower! The food is delicious and interesting, the staff is friendly, and the setting is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Even with other good options on the square, we ate here each of the 3 mornings we had. The back patio alone is worth going back for.

Great breakfast and coffee. The waffle was light and airy with that perfectly crunchy shell. The shiitake mushroom omlet was light and flavorful. Seating area is very rustic with limited number of tables inside but a good number of tables curbside and in the pretty backyard.

Awesome breakfast that offers a great variety of delicious options for reasonable prices. You can sit outdoors in the front or back or indoors. Since you order from the counter the tables turn over relatively quickly and its usually not terribly difficult to get one.

Loved the place! Great selection of salads and sandwiches for lunch! All local produce, fresh, organic and delicious. Its located right in the center of Sonoma. You can seat inside and outside. I prefered inside as they had some cool pictures on the walls to look at.

The burrata plate with preserved lemon, tomato and mint salad, and grilled baguette was delicious. The service was extremely fast, helpful, and friendly, and the outdoor patio with the fountain, sunflowers, and wine bar (open on weekends) is simply blissful.
