When spring arrives in Northern California, our favorite thing is to drive into the hills, cross over into Napa County, and reward our pregrinations with brunch at Gillwoods. California Benedict is my favorite, with perfect hollandaise and sliced turkey; my spouse likes any of the omelets with a carrot-spicy muffin. We like to sit at the "family table" and take our chances with the company there. Often, there is a polite mutual introduction, and nothing more. But sometimes it turns into a rocking party of taste- and anecdote-sharing amongst people who had never met before. That is when Gillwoods shines at its best.

Super breakfast at the Gillwoods Café. My wife had the scrambled plate and I had a breakfast skillet. Both fabulous. In addition, we try not to eat much gluten and when we asked to not have the toast, they actually charged less for the meal. How nice and unexpected and certainly not typical. Anyway, the wait staff was pleasant and efficient and the wait was very acceptable. Go there.

We were in Napa on our way to Seattle and had a wonderful breakfast at Gillwoods. The staff was so friendly and efficient and the food was healthy and prepared just perfect. Very few restaurants do basted eggs and these were wonderful. Highly recommend stopping here for breakfast...and their lunch menu looks equally enticing.

Very tight fixed wall-bench seating. Ugh. Popular. Ok. $14.90 for avocado , cheese, mushroom, trendy half cooked spinach medium size omelette. $3.50 for large hot chocolate, but not rich enough. Very polite and fast wait staff. (Silver Spur in Santa Cruz is sooo much better for breakfast/lunch.)

The coziest and most delicious breakfast in all of Napa! Their coffee is nice a strong too. If youre smart, take your leftover hollandaise from your Benedict and drizzle it over your potatoes.
