Visited Chutney restaurant a newly open Pakistani restaurant in Fremont, CA last week of Nov 2009. We stay closeby, so all 6 friends were very excited of the new restaurant in the neighborhood. We ordered 7 to 8 different dishes....Damn...the food quantity was so so low..each dish wasnt sufficient for even a single person..and ofcourse, prices not too reasonable..each dish around 6 to 7 dollars...The food quality was good..but the quantity hardly left anything to realize the taste...Overall the place was empty when we visited..I guess, people realized to stay away from it...So I too recommend you the same...Stay away till they come into senses to serve food decently. Everything else was ok..the free tomatoes & onions and tea was all we could eat/drink to fill our stomaches.

Today that is 9 August 2017, I went here to have dinner. This is by far the most horrible restaurant I have been to. First thing all the food is frozen and warmed and served when ordered. When asked about it the manager will simply say that "its how we work if you want you can leave." I have seen roaches all over the place. I thought of not visiting the Restaurent ever but, on way out I heard the manager arguing with the poor buzz boy and to my surprise he was using the most vulgar language. Its at this point I decided to report this abuse to the Us Labor department . I hope the owner sees this and take action on that manager. Some people may find it silly and funny but I could not stand the abuse on poor person.

This place has gone down tremendously, both the service and food suck! Each time we order mild food it is still hotter than hell and unedible. The water pictures and glasses are always dirty and full of white junk, I wont drink there anymore! The naan is over cooked and crunchy and if you ask for tomatos, this is what you get, the stems. They also lie, we called ahead to order fish and they said they were out if fish, so we went in there and they said they had fish, they were just busy when we called!!!! Very dirty and yiu have to ask for napkins. Id like to know when the last health inspection was, I cant imagine that they will pass the next one without alot of changes! Wont ever come back again.

I was an ardent fan of chutneys lamb biryani till 2 months back. Now it looks like the management got changed. Price and quality traveled in opposite ways, of course not the right way. Called them up to order a lamb biryani tonight, asked for extra spicy since my last 2 orders were really bland even though I asked for spicy. Guy who picks up doesnt even have the patience to hear what we ask for. Finally when I got the order, looked like I asked for extra bones instead of extra spicy!!!!! The first time Im having lamb biryani with only bones in it!!!! That too with no flavor! Im so disappointed and decided....NOOOOOOOOOO more Chutney!

This is one of my favorite Indian restauraunts... The chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan are to die for! They have two restauraunts in the bay area one in SF and one closer to me in San Jose they serve the same menu with the same distinct sauces so you can be sure your experience will be the same at both places. Be careful of the SF location its got some shady characters around the place but they seem to leave the patrons alone for the most part.

The food served here is tooooooo oily and not even much tasty. We ordered prawn biryani and it had only 7 prawns in it. It didnt taste good. The achar chicken and vegetable tikka masala was also very oily. I dont recommend this if you are looking for a great Indian restaurant. There are much better Indian restaurants than this in Fremont.

Couldnt even estimate how much time to prepare the order. Told me 10 min took another 20 minutes. Costing me an additional $10 in Uber as previous driver cancelled the ride. Not only the order taker gave me wrong order, she said why dont you request your ride after getting the order. Completely missing the urgency of the time

This is our go-to spot for quick and easy Indian food. Quick service, fair prices and the food tastes good! I suppose if you want fancy "high-quality Indian food" then you can go somewhere else, but it will cost more for smaller portions. I guess you could consider this the fast-food equivalent but I rather like Chutney!

Very Delicious food. Been going there for last 6 years and still love it.The weekend Manager Ali is a very nice and friendly guy and takes an extra effort to make you feel like the most welcome customer. One star missing due to little below average sitting arrangement which needs immidiate attention.

I still can remember the horrible tomato rice, since it was late night and we didnt have much options to order. We got it to go, so we couldnt check the package. The rice was watery and it was horrible to taste, with say 100 tomatoes juice for a cup of rice. Waste of money.

Worst food you can get in Fremont. We ordered to-go from this restaurant and slept hungry that night. Almost all curries are bland. They make common rice for biryani and you get same rice in all your order. Didnt expect such food from a full service restaurant.

The name chutney itself is ironic, since that is not even the last thing that you want to try here. Samosas were dripping of oil and the aloo stuffing was stale. The garlic naan tasted unbelievably disguising. Please keep away if you value your money.

As Indian food goes in Fremont, this is well below average. The food was watery and relatively tasteless. Needed more spice and flavor. If you want good North Indian curry, go somewhere else. There are plenty of Indian restaurants in Fremont.

We used to order food from Chutney Fremont because they accept only CC. Their NAAN is horrible and feels like eating rubber. After the food it feels like body turned into Gas tank. Their Chicken breast is like grand child of chicken.
