This place completely transfers you to a hole in a wall at the street corner in Beijing. Every bit of it, even the painting on the wall, air conditioner on the wall, soda fridge in the back, the music, everything reminds me of my time in China. Their home made noodle is like the ones I ate in China. Their strip pancake was exactly like the ones I picked from the street stand in Beijing. Their dumpling was just so authentically Chinese. It reminded me of these dumplings I ate there, a full of fresh dumplings in a bowl and I always put a lot of hot chili sauce on top - - that was a dinner I often ate in China. The waitresses all had Beijing accent, hardly spoke English. If you do not speak Chinese, I am sure you will be lost in this restaurant. (Luckily I could communicate with my poor Chinese) The price point is even very Chinese, thats a bonus! I truly enjoyed their food, it was really good. Indeed, it is really really good. They got incredible menu, all of which I want to try. Partly it is because of the nostalgia, but I really appreciate these simple daily food, when they are so freshly made and good. Probably for Americans who have never been to China, this place is difficult to appreciate. But if you miss the simple daily fresh good food in China, this is the place to come. I will probably come back here very very often from now on, for quick lunch with home made noodle, casual Sunday lunch with home made soy milk and donuts, etc. Now I do not have to drive to Oakland to Shandong Restaurant to get hand-cut home made noodles and home-made dumplings, I just come here! Closer to my home! If you want more American-tuned upscale Chinese, then, you may want to go to Yank Sing. I give this place 5 stars, for very different reasons, so please read this review with a caution.

I went to this place for dinner. Ordered seafood with tofu. I got a large plate mostly filled with freshly cut and uncooked tofu and 3 medium size shrimp and some ling cod or some sort of soft and slimy fish. They sure have guts to call this seafood. Although I asked for not much salt all I could taste was salt. Very slimy looking stuff. You had to order rice as an extra because they didnt serve it with dish ordered. We also ordered some lamb dish that never surfaced. Instead they brought some stir fried chicken with bell pepper and black bean sauce.I am not sure if that was a language barrier on their side. Again I could taste nothing but salt. Then the waiter brought us some dumplings as a house special although we have never ordered it. Very weird, at that point I just wanted to get out so I asked for the bill. So 2 dishes and 4 beers came to 43 bucks. It was written in some sort of chinese so I couldnt really make it up but I presume that house special was included and charged if as being ordered, again something I have not ordered. Food was bad and I left most of it behind. Seafood dish was nothing but rip off. Large plate of uncooked tofu. Yuck. Never again.

This is not the typical Chinese restaurant...its much, much better. If youre looking for real, authentic cuisine straight out of Beijing, look no further. The Beijing wonton soup is the best in the bay area. Sauteed water spinach with garlic is seasoned with a hint of white pepper. The Kung Pao shrimp (宫保虾 / 宮保蝦) is the proper Beijing style, not the deep fried shrimp drowned in sweet sauce, but perfectly cooked, butterflied shrimp in a slightly tart, spicy glaze with peanuts and bell pepper. If you like boiled dumplings or cumin lamb skewers, they have you covered. If you can get here early on a weekend, traditional Beijing breakfast awaits with yóutiáo (油條 / 油条; fried dough, for the uninitiated) that you dip in soy milk and purple rice porridge. For the price, you cant go wrong here.

Authentic Beijing food from an actually Beijing chef. There arent many places you can get that. In general, his homemade noodles and homemade hot sauce are great. I really like the 炒饼. I dont even know of another restaurant where you can get those in America. The 白菜猪肉水饺 are spot-on northern style dumplings, with hearty, thick skins. The owner recommended that I come back and try the 麻辣牛筋凉面, and also that he makes 点心 on the weekends, which Im really looking forward to. The 凉粉 may have been good for what it was, but honestly wasnt my thing, I found it a little too textureless, though his advice to try drinking it more like a soup was helpful. Also didnt love the 茄子猪肉卤面 or the 炸酱面, but they werent bad either.

I dont usually frequent Chinese restaurant but visited this restaurant during a group dinner gathering. I like the family-run restaurant style, traditional deco and down-to-earth atmosphere that gave me the feeling of being in an authentic local Chinese restaurant. Although most of the dishes the group ordered were new to me, I found the quality was very good and of great taste (though I cannot tell the authenticity). Pricing was well reasonable as with the amount. The manager (or owner?) was very friendly and sincere and I appreciated his warm treatment during our visit. Overall, I had a very pleasant dinning experience and would definitely visit again if I have a chance coming this way from south Bay.

1) Food is getting worse: much less amount, worse taste. 2) Found big chunks of sands in food!!! 3) Bad service: I asked them to get us a new dish to replace the one with sands. But the waitress refused and said that we had eaten the dish already. She only offered to give us half price for the dish. We asked to see the manager but she said there was no manager. What an attitude! The waitress even yelled at us when we refused to give her tip. So, we wont come back again and dont recommend anyone to go there.

Get the Meatball Clay Pot!!! I order it almost every time I go. Also the Lamb Skewer is a MUST. Both me and my boyfriend love it. The service is quite good, too. I called 7 min before they opened (11am) on a heavily rainy Sunday morning and got my order around 11:03am. Parking: You can find parking on 7th Ave if the spaces on S B St are full. Extra parking can be found on S Railroad Ave (behind this restaurant).

We were a party of 3. My wife got a Tofu dish. She said the Tofu was OK but the vegetables tasted stale/bad. I got Orange chicken. It was one of the least tasty Ive ever eaten. The chicken tasted like it was already cooked before the dish was made. Our friend got lamb dumplings. It came with no sauce, which was a bit strange. He said it tasted good. Big disappointment. Not coming back.

A friend and I went to this place recently on our way to the SF airport. The place is not fancy, but cozy and clean. The owner is friendly and warm. The food is northern Chinese everyday food, which reminds me the time when I was in China. Overall, the food is good and authentic, with a reasonable price (mostly $6-8$ per dish). I would recommend this place to my other friends.

They have breakfast items available even in the evening, fresh soy milk, fritter wrapped in egg crepe, sweet multigrain porridge cereal, sesame seed pancake hamburger oh my English this is hard to describe without sounding ridiculous but hopefully those familiar with Chinese breakfast items will know what Im talking about.
