Just stopped here tonight with my significant other. Our order was taken by a very friendly man who happened to also be our cook. We told him it was our first time in SF and he gave us complementary naan and tea, and a decent eggplant side-dish (Bainghan Bartha) we were interested in but didnt want a whole plate of. Comparatively to other restaurants in the area, Urban Curry is very reasonably priced. The food was flavorful and plenty spicy to your liking. We were told that this place just went under new management a couple of months ago and were trying some new things, like having the restaurant open till 3am on the weekends for the late-night crowds. The atmosphere is clean and simple, the food was just the right amount, and we are certainly planning on hitting up the lunch buffet later this week. Be sure to try the Daal Chicken and the garlic naan.

I dont mean to be a downer, but I didnt enjoy the chicken tikka massala, I found the taste was quite bland and tasted more like butter chicken. I tend to enjoy the nice thick coconut flavour, and a sauce that makes your mouth water just from the smell. I wanted some comfort food to remind me of back home but sadly this wasnt it and I dont think Im going to find a decent Indian curry in the US :( the medium heat was nice, I would have expected a slightly larger portion size. The reason Im giving this 3 stars is because I think the curry has been altered for the American pallet and there have been lots of good reviews. I miss you British chicken tikka masala!!!!

We came here on a weekday busy before closing time. This is an Indian food place thats run by what seemed like folks from the north eastern part of India. Naturally the food is north Indian fare with some indo Chinese items. We ordered the chicken momo, which was yummy and was served with garlic sauce. The naan bread was wonderful and were had the Malai kofta and mixed vegetables in house curry. Definitely coming here again and highly recommended compared to all the other grubby Indian joints in the area.

My dad came to the US for the first time and this was the first reataurant where I took him to for lunch, we were sitting there for 15mins and no one took out order, finally some did, we ordered two naans becAuse we thought well order some more, when we were finished with our naan, I was hoping someone will show up, i even tried calling them for help but it seemed they didnt care. Food was barely average this is not good Indian food that they are selling, places like these make Indin cuisine look bad.

Never do a take out from here. I ordered veg biryani, three roti, navratna korma and salty lassi. Everything not made the right way. Roti was like a naan. Korma wasnt even made the with right ingredients and gravy. Meat my guy be different but if you are a vegetarian DO NOT GO HERE. I am visiting SF and thought try an Indian food. I am Indian so trust me this is not the real food. I dont know how this place has FOUR star.

I went for the lunch buffet. There was a ground lamb curry that was good and flavorful. The remaining items were OK and lacking distinct flavor. It was pretty empty during lunch time and I noticed most of the positive reviews were for things I didnt see at the buffet, so it looks like skipping the lunch buffet might be the key to success here. Ill update the review when I get non buffet food.

Personally, I enjoy the buffet here. I normally come here once every 2 weeks with my coworkers, since they want Indian food and in buffet style. This is a nice Nepali running restaurant with great food, not to spicy or unflavored. Its perfect amount of spice and flavor to be enjoyed by everyone not just Indians.

The food was purchased to go, and on a whim. Chicken Korma to be exact. Found it to be flavorful and wholesome. Paired nicely with Naan bread. Service was very fast. Meal put together with care. Worth a visit or two or three or etc. The inside of the restaurant looked very nice too.

Just had an excellent experience ordering through Allset. Food is great, remember that it can be a bit too spicy for your taste, though. Also loved the service. Prices are OK for SF, buffet with fresh naan and delicious tea is really cheap.

Great Indian place with reasonable prices. The tandoori lamb and chicken biryani were both quite tasty. It also looked like they have a buffet style which was not setup when I was there, but I would definitely enjoy trying.

A great and pretty cheap place where you can eat good Indian food. I ate there twice and enjoyed it every time. They can accomodate a big groupe if you warn them early, so a great place to take a lot of friends to!

Great Indian food in an area where you dont expect to see much Indian food. I went with a group of 4, and we split 4 different dishes and 3 naans. It was the perfect amount, plus we got complimentary chai.

Good, tasty Indian food. Upscale restaurant with nice interiors and very friendly, helpful staff. Good place to visit for dinner. Their lunch buffet on weekdays is worth a try as well.

Great Food, Taste like typical Indian home made food. Nice blend of Indian Spices and Herbs. Service is awesome. On top of that very reasonably priced considering Location.

I had vegetable samosas, garlic naan, and lamb vindaloo (with chai compliments of the house). The vindaloo did not come with rice, so Im glad I ordered the naan.

One of the few lunch buffets that will serve a lamb option. A dollar or two more than its competitors buffets. But worth it for a lamb lover like me.

Excellent Indian food, good prices considering the central location, but the even the "mild" Chicken Tikka Masala was still too hot and spicy.

Spicy Curry in North Beach! Theyll spice to your liking, too. Some chinese style dishes are a nice addition and food is fresh and tasty.
