I had a craving for fried chicken and wanted to try Soul Groove, but theyre not open on Mondays. I did a search of the area and the reviews for their fried chick was good. So we navigated the icky streets, up 5 blocks from where we were and my friends were asking me if I was sure about this. This is definitely a small hole in the wall with a few tables. We grabbed some menus and sat down. We got a large order of fried chicken, fried mushrooms and bulgogi beef (the beef came with rice). We thought the chicken would be tossed in the sauce after it was fried, but the sauce is actually served on the side. My friends loved the red chili sauce, the garlic soy was also good. There was a spicy garlic soy for the fried mushrooms. The fried chicken was battered, boneless and juicy. Dip it in one of the sauces really brought it all together. The spicy sauce wasnt very spicy. The thing that differs from other Korean restaurants is that you dont get banchan (the small side dishes) with your order. I wish that they would at least give us some kimchi, but I think you have to order that. By the time I remembered, we were almost done eating. I really love these mom and pop stores. Theres the home cook taste that you cant get in large restaurants. One thing we had fun looking it was the stacks for old records they had by the window.

Coming from New York, I was surprised to find that The Tenderloin, the neighborhood best known for delicious local food, was notably lacking when it came to great Korean food. Enter the perfect example of a hole in the wall, mom and pop restaurant, Aria Snack Bar. This tiny restaurant is wedged between the fighting gym and an old magazine store, and its barely large enough to fit two tables and a small counter to order food. But despite the size, its got a huge menu with all the Korean food favorites from bulkogi to goon mandu to dukbokki to everything in between. Just about everything Ive tried has been delicious and my personal favorite has been the crispy goon mandu, though I found the spicy noodles to be overdoused in rather unspicy sauce. And their signature dish is Korean Fried Chicken, a spicy flavorful conoction that takes the best of fried chicken and spicy Korean flavors. Everything is reasonably priced, though you might need to wait a little while to get your food. That said, the quite shop owner and his wife are kind and eager to please, and theyll happily serve at the restaurant or pack to go. Its a great place to grab a bite before you hit the town or to pick up something to go for a night in. One of my favorites in the neighborhood!

It was literally THE WORST bibimbop Ive ever had IN MY LIFE period. I havent had a bibimbop that comes close to how bad it was. I dont remember ever *regretting* eating a bibimbop dish. But this was really disgusting bibimbop. The beef was dry and tough and incredibly salty. The rice was hard and cold. The veggies were cold and bland. They only gave four kinds...when there should at least be six kinds. The egg was cold and undercooked with a lot of slime. Also they dont give you enough gochujang sauce. I feel really gross right now. Like I was violated. Which, arguably, I was. Maybe the cook was having a super bad day or something? How can this place have a 4 star rating when its clearly so painfully low quality Nothing about that meal was ok. Also the interior is sad and looks like a rundown tenement housing space. There are like...6 seats inside.

Best Korean street food in San Francisco. There are many other restaurants with similar menu, but i think its the only one that is more close to authentic yummy Korean food. Wish them to make a Combo Menu with DDeok BBok Gi, KimBap and Fried Seaweed Rolls. Great owners and they are treating people with smiles. The place recently renewed their interior as well as the menu designs. It is very nice to see the clean menus and tables and bunch of other things, but I think they should let the window wide opened with clear glasses.

Family own and operated. Recently updated menu, dining area, and signage. They owners are always super friendly and the food is always fresh. KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) is something Ive never had until I had it here. It tastes juicy and the breading is traditionally Korean (savory and crispy). Totally worth the trip just for that. I highly recommend as a evening eatery in the upper TL.

Visited two times within 24 hours to get take away. Really nice family-owned place, who takes good care of their customers, no matter if it is a one time visit or multiple. The owners take their time to chat and welcomes you. The food is amazing too and Korean at its best. Their chicken was awesome. Full recommendation to anyone who would like a nice little experience.

The food here is pretty tasty and will definitely hit the spot after a night out of drinking. The fried chicken is pretty tasty, although its more like chicken strips then actual fried chicken. I also really enjoyed the Korean Beef Noodles. The food is a little on the pricey side, but you do get a good amount.

A small place that is almost reminiscent of the small shop in Korea. The shop has a bar area which will only allow for a few people to sit so if you are not there early, be prepared to do take out. The food is authentic -- during my visit, the kimbap and tteokbokki were the highlights.

Aria is a TL staple. A postage stamp sized restaurant where you can fulfill your wildest Korean snack cravings for a reasonable price. Everyone goes for the large, juicy fried chicken tenders with spicy sauce but dont leave Aria without an order of the glassy beef noodles.

The fried chicken nuggets reminded me of samosas when I first saw them, but they turned out to be lightly fried on the outside, while maintaining a tender and juicy inside. The pickled radishes were also light and crunchy to help round out this afternoon snack!

Youll have to take it to go or be comfortable playing sardines in this tiny little shop. If you dont mind waiting a few minutes though they fry the chicken fresh and its obviously real chicken because it isnt all cookie cutter chapped.

Usually a hole in the wall place should have better food to make up for the atmosphere. Really expected more from the tofu soup. The cucumber kimchee was not marinated well at all. Bulgogi roll was ok, big portion.

They put fish cake inside veggie sushi and when I said I dont eat any meat , please change it. They became angry and throw out my money in my face and yelled me, they are rude and aggressive,

This is by far the best fried chicken in the Tenderloin. The people here are awesome and always friendly. Try the kimchi fried rice and original KFC. Highly recommend!
