We unfortunately had a terrible ending to an otherwise pleasant morning out at The Mission. Both my partner and myself are vegetarian, and we both have been for many years. Neither one of us had eaten meat for almost a cumulative decade, until last Saturday. We ordered the breakfast burritos, and made sure when ordering that there was no meat in them. We were even reassured of this by our server when they arrived. Unfortunately, it wasnt until eating almost all of them, that we discovered a large piece of bacon in our meal. Hoping for the best, we mentioned it to the manager and went on our way, hoping that we had missed the worst. However, we then spent the rest of the day at home violently ill, ruining our day entirely. I feel its important to warn others, VEGETARIANS BEWARE. If you choose to eat here, check, double check, and triple check that your order is as specified.

Honestly, I think this place is just over hyped. I waited for what seemed like forever (50min) to get a table when they told us it would be no longer than 15-20 minutes. Now, dont get me wrong I wouldnt have minded waiting that long had they told me that was the waiting time. When we finally get seated our drink order was taken and brought immediately, that was nice. It was hard to cary a conversation being that it was over crowded and extremely loud. The food took a long while to come out (I understand that were busy on a Saturday) and when it did, it was somewhat cold. I ordered the chilaquiles which were one of the worst ones Ive ever had. They were overpowered with a minty sweet taste which I would not have expected. Had I known that (was not mentioned in the menu) I would have ordered something else. Tried it, and dont think Ill come back for a second visit.

This place reminds me of 2 of my favorite restuarants in Montana - One for the good home made food - the other for the hip city like style (keep in mind Im from Montana so anything other than a down home country restuarant is a little funky to me.) I have two weaknesses at this establishment - The Blackberry Pancakes are to die for and the Soy Chorizo Breakfast Burrito is flavorful and down right delicious. My roommate and I order both dishes and split them because we cant decide between the two. The wait staff are awesome and the wait is never too long - keep in mind though that the standard wait time during their busy time is 20-25 minutes. So happy I live within walking distance of this place - its becoming my weekend staple.

I chose this breakfast place for a breakfast date with a friend of mine, so we could catch up. It was a great choice overall! The food was delicious, lots of options, lots of healthy options as well, without being too "healthy." The breakfast potatos had rosemary in them and were delicious. Its a cozy atmosphere, especially considering all of the tables are extremely close to one another, which at first I thought I wouldnt like, but it actually was enjoyable and I didnt feel claustrophobic at all. The service was great as well. I didnt get pancakes BUT the pancakes looked amazing so I will definitely try those next time. We did have to wait a while, the place was super packed and popular, which only ever means its a good place!

I wasnt originally going to have breakfast at The Mission. We were supposed to have breakfast at another well known breakfast place a couple of blocks down, but the wait was too long. Im glad that I was able to have breakfast here instead. I had the Skirt Steak Hash and Eggs with coffee. The rosemary potatoes were very delicious. My neice also loved them and commented on how good they were. Unlike a traditional corned beef hash, they served the hash with scrambled eggs and they were cooked just right. The rosemary bread that accompanied the meal was very good too. The service was great and the staff was friendly . I will definitely be back when Im in San Diego again.

I was a little nervous as it was nearly empty at 8am, but it was a Monday so rolled the dice based on good reviews. The cold brew was great to start. The Mission Croissant sandwich was so good I ordered an extra plain croissant and the butter and blackberry jam were a ridiculously good compliment. The star of the meal was the vegetarian tamales with salsa verde, black beans, and over medium egg. Just spent 2 months in Texas looking for good tamales and wouldnt have guessed Id have to come all the way to San Diego to find them. Next time Im in town Ill be back for sure. Good prices and great service!

Where do I begin with my unfortunate experience. I ordered one of their favorites on the menu, the chicken apple sausage, and it was as if they gave me the leftovers of their potatoes. They were sincerely burnt and looked super crusty. On the other hand my friend order the blueberry pancakes, needless to say they were dry and unpleasant. The decor is old and it looks just like their food, falling completely apart. As for their service, Sharon was a phenomenal server so lovely and awesome. Go to park house for better pricing and food quality.

Great service (food was a bit slow coming out, but it was a really busy Sunday morning), great vibe, plenty of good options (including the teas) on the menu. The food was pretty good, but it wasnt outstanding. We had the breakfast burrito and blueberry cornmeal pancakes. The pancakes were slightly tough to cut cleanly, and I generally prefer thinner pancakes. The fresh fruit and the sauce that came with it was great, but I would have liked more of both. The scallions with the beans that came with the burrito were fresh and delicious.

The food is awesome! Service needs work. I have been there several times with family and friends and we all love it. But what kills it sometimes is the service. They arent rude, they are mostly nice but the servers forget about us some times and I notice them serving some more frequently than others. We waited over five minutes once just to order drinks, I had to get the manager and he brought the server over. But other than this, the food is great and the ambiance is energetic.

Very popular North Park breakfast eatery, weekends are especially busy with long waits. I would say that the pancakes definitely live up to the hype. I enjoyed the strawberry granola pancakes this morning, they were so big I didnt need any sides. Our server wasnt the friendliest but he was attentive and our drinks were always full. The restaurant is small and the tables are quite close together. Overall good experience but not my go to breakfast spot.

We went as a group of 4 on a Monday morning and was seated immediately. The place is a very basic open design, but very comfortable. The portions are good-sized, but not ridiculous like some of the other places I have eaten at in this area. The price is good and the service was quick and friendly. This place has the atmosphere of a small-town diner with food that well exceeds the diner experience. A definite recommendation for breakfast.

Delicious pancakes! They do a good job w/ their eggs as well. Service is good and location is great in North Park. We went and watched runners go by for the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon and it was a prime location! Go super early in the morning if you want to escape the crowd since this is a super popular brunch location on weekends. The long wait during normal hours is the main reason why I knocked off a star.
