Im really disappointed by this restaurant, by trying so hard to be original the chef just destroyed the original french food. Start from the beginning the server places us, my friend sits on the bench I was on the chair. First thing the bench are way too high, her knees could almost touch the table, and her position for eating wasnt really confortable. Then we ordered before everything we got butter and bread, butter way too much salty the bread on the other hand was good. Escargot in appetizer, we were wondering if it wasnt frozen food. After 15 minutes waiting i had mussels with bread, cold mussels with cream really salty sauce which made the plate too much and really hard to eat. I didnt really feel the taste of the mussels because of the sauce. Bread was good. My friend got truffle cheese ravioli same result too much salt, and the ravioli were good but really too much the cheese felt cheap. In dessert we ordered lavender crème brûlée, it was cold and tasted like it came out of the microwave, warm in some areas but very cold otherwise. The lavender was original but maybe a little bit too much for such a simple dessert. Now lets talk about ambiance, im little bit confuse a part of the restaurant want to be modern and flashy, but the old loud music and the old movie on the screen in the other side make it weird.

I would usually come here for brunch and make reservations online or over the phone. Im not sure if they are under new management or something but I was told by two employees that they do not take reservations when clearly the online website lists a reservations tab. I called well ahead of arriving to try to reserve tables for 6 and was told they cant do a reservation. So we arrived at the restaurant and was then told they arent taking "walk-ins" larger than 2. The restaurant knows its busy on weekends but doesnt make accommodations for parties larger than 4 and would rather keep their same customers in the restaurant vice keeping a steady flow of new customers bringing in more profit. I wish they would start a better policy to keep customers flowing in and out of their establishment and/or re-implement reservations. If your party is less than 4 this might be the place for you. The food is good too.

At around 2 in the afternoon on Saturday the restaurant wasnt too busy and we ordered lunch from their brunch menu. The Salade Maison with salmon was an exquisite medley of greens, berries, nuts and vegetables. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a lovely crunchy skin. We also ordered some truffle parmesan fries and they were excellent and the cheese flavor was subtle with an interesting, somehow hazelnutty flavor. My steak and eggs was just as good. The medium rare beef was exactly that and as tender and juicy as a $60 steak. Eggs were cooked to perfection and the tarragon sauce was a delightful twist. Definitely looking forward to coming back for the dinner menu (see picture) and some dessert. Will probably dine inside next time as the hundreds of flies were not exactly enhancing the experience and are the only reason why its not getting 5 stars.

This restaurant is amazing! Delicious, mind blowing food (we had dinner, but our friends say the brunch is fabulous as well). I loved everything I had - two spectacular cocktails (Blood of the Scorpion, Park Ave Maid), fresh crusty baguette with butter, mussels in a rich creamy white wine broth, and pavlova. But another thing that stood out was the amazing service. Both hostesses greeted us in a very friendly manner, and the servers were very attentive and friendly as well. The owner himself visited our table multiple times, and is easy going, loves wine (and food, clearly), and is good at spinning tales. We will be back! If you have the opportunity, come check out this hip, elegant, awesome place.

Uh oh. Welp this place is not French but it is America -quasi-pseudo-French-ish. Came here for a friends Bday and menu was more like an American Bistro with French fancy words. Ok, no problem but unfortunately I ordered the duck (but the burger sounded the most appealing) and it came at the end of the meal of the party, 20 mins late. The staff was kind enough to bring a complementary beer and "pizza" but when the duck finally came I had a bite and I realized that I shouldve ordered the burger to begin with. In short this place has a kind neighborhood service in the heart of Hillcrest and maybe thats it. Sorry guys but I wont come back but I think you are good people and wish you well.

Amazing food. Great prices for the quality of food. My husband and I came early on a Saturday for breakfast. Street parking. Maurice was our waiter. Great guy. We decided to eat out on the patio. It was chilly ( which my hubby loved) but I was a bit cold. Maurice checked all the outside heaters and got one working for us. I really appreciated it. I had the short rib hash ( amazing) hubby had the chicken bacon and waffle. Delicious. We started with the mini pastries. A mini cinnamon roll, croissant and chocolate croissant. Warm , crispy perfection. This was our first time here, but we will be back and bringing our friends with us. I looked at the dinner menu. Omg!

10 stars for this gem! The experience was amazing from the moment we walked in the door. Our server was friendly and attentive, the drinks were strong but smooth and the food was sumptuous. We started with the flatbread of the day which had a pineapple salsa, red peppers, onion, sausage, cilantro and cotija cheese. I went with the pasta of the day which was bursting with mushrooms and sauced with butter and truffle oil. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits. OMG! The grits were the perfect consistency and laced with chorizo and the shrimp was lemony and bright. Hands down the best dining experience Ive had recently! #reviewitforward

Delicious food, friendly staff, service was a little slow. Came for brunch before Pride. Got seated right away. Nice ambiance. Good food selection. Fun without being annoying. They dont serve American style portions but they serve more than enough to fill you up and the flavors were excellent. Only complaint I would have is the amount of time it took to get our food but everything else about the place makes that easy to overlook. We will definitely will be coming back.

Very interesting breakfast and brunch spot right before Hillcrest. Crowded, so I recommend a reservation. The menu was large, the drinks were great, especially the sangria. Service was just slightly disjointed, but it was also packed. The owner of the restaurant is a hip woman, who celebrated our friends birthday by taking a shot with us. A good addition to the already vibrant Hillcrest scene. Go for the chicken and waffles.

Went to brunch here with a couple friends and was very disappointed in the service. Our waitress took our order and we didnt see her for another half hour. Our water was left empty, we had to flag her down to get a refill, and the food took an exceptionally long time to get to us. I wasnt thrilled with the salmon omelette and the waitress overcharged me by $40, which I then had to point out to her. Will not be returning.

Overall the place was below average. They first gave me a different entree than what I had ordered and were not very interested in fixing the error. I decided just to eat what was brought out anyway as I had a limited time for dinner and the sea bass was overdone and very dry. Same way with my wifes steak. There are much better French restaurants in town that are similarly priced. I will not be going back to this place.
