Has a nice decor, is clean, spacious, and well-laid out, but the food quality is mediocre. I probably wont be back. I went twice: the first time I got the ribs. The ribs were slightly greasy, small, and the taste was mediocre. Ive never paid $30 for a rack of ribs before, and I was expecting them to be a lot better for the price--I wasted my money on that one. I also intended to get some sides, but they were all out of sides (?!). Im used to bbq restaurants running out of meat, but Ive never seen one run out of sides. I figured it was the new-restaurant hiccups and didnt cross it off my list. Went again today. Emergency BBQ was closed today and I needed some pulled pork for a little get-together, so I decided to give 3 Pigs another shot. Got my pulled pork, went home to get the food ready and found that the serving seemed a bit small. Out of curiosity, I put it on my food scale (dish and all) and the pork only came to 11 ounces, INCLUDING the weight of the dish. I paid for a full pound (*16 ounces*). Yes, more than 1/4 of the pork that I paid for was missing. Not to mention, the pulled pork wasnt that great. The flavor was good but it was literally soggy with grease that I sopped up with a paper towel. Ive had a lot of pulled pork, but nothing that looks like that. Quite frankly, the ambiance is the only reason to come to this place. For sit-down, its much nicer than Emergency BBQ which is just down the road, but youll pay more for smaller portions of lower quality food. If youre just doing takeout, you might as well go to Emergency BBQ--not the best in the Bay Area, but close to 3 Pigs with cheaper, better food.

Had a craving for ribs and since I wasnt able to drive down and pick them up used Doordash. Most rib servings are pretty generous so went with the half rack and two sides (cornbread and coleslaw). Delivery was smooth but when I got this very small/light bag I even had to ask the driver if "this was it??". I looked inside and couldnt believe the half rack was literally 6 ribs!! It was accompanied by a tiny cup of coleslaw and a piece of cornbread the size of a muffin...all of this for $22!! Now if the ribs had been outstanding I wouldve added a few more stars but they werent at all..besides being almost cold, they were completely dried out and even the sub-par BBQ sauce that was on the side wasnt enough to moisten them up. What a huge disappointment. I appreciate some quality might be affected by delivery timing etc but not the overall taste, quality, and cost..big thumbs down. I did phone to complain (which I NEVER do) and they did confirm that was the size of a half rack and "oh well"..Oh well..wont return!

Great Straight Up BBQ, but spend! I had the Tri tip: 7 slices if meat with a great smoke ring and flavor. Tender and juicy. The selection of sauces is great, house, Memphis, mustard, spicy. I got my meat with two sides and a cornbread muffin and a bottle of root beer :$29!!! The baked beans had great flavor but they were hard to find in the sauce. The Cole slaw was very wet and had a very mild flavor. Cornbread muffin was excellent with cheese flavor and whole corn kernels in it. A bit cold but good. I would give this place more stars if it wasnt for the price and atmosphere. Just a bit too pricey for what you get. Also, the décor is very kitschy country roadhouse style with a yuge American flag made of the worst American beer representations: Bud and Bud Light. Theres a bit of a good ol boys club thing going here. The background modern country music is a bit too much ambience for me. The occasional Johnny Cash song helps break up the twang. Itll be take-out next time for me.

They make a mean Tri-tip sandwich. Best BBQ WEve found in the Bay Area. Give them a shot, you wont regret it. My wife ordered a salad once (why you would order salad at a BBQ place is a question for a different forum) and wasnt thrilled, not bad, but not great. They specifically asked her how it was and she kind of said it was "OK." As we were pulling away, one of the owners came out and asked if he could make something else for us on the house, and when we politely declined and assured him we would be back he told us out next meal was on them. This is the kind of small business start up that deserves everyones support. They truly care about their customers, and their beer selection is legit.

I ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, they were raw and cold. The potato salad tasted like it was for days in the fridge. Mac& cheese tasted like food for Microwave. It should be forbidden like in other countries, that restaurants give you frozen food warmed in the microwave. Thats why you pay more, otherwise you can put the food in the microwave and its ready in 5 minutes!!!. Beside that they charged me $25 for the ribs, the terrible sides and one soda. This is an overpriced restaurant. Ahhhh one more thing, they dont clean the tables when a customer leaves, so, expect to eat in a dirty table!!!! BTW, they are very friendly, but I dont go to a restaurant to see smiles and get terrible food.

Pulled pork is the base line for which I judge all BBQ places. Here, they serve it on toasted bread and you add your own sauce. The pork itself was fine, though it didnt have the over-BBQd edges of Macks BBQ (the previous name/owner? of this location). The sauce is probably what matters the most and I tried the spicy sauce. It was fine, but nothing spectacular. The location itself is updated and since its "new" it is very busy. The menu has been expanded and loses some of the appeal of the simpleness of the previous restaurant. $9 for pulled pork is a bit much, though I wouldnt be afraid to spend that on a great sandwich. This sandwich was just A-OK for me.

This restaurant has the perfect mix of dry rub, smokey bbq, with classic sides, while adding new tastes and combinations to refresh the typical smokehouse fare. The watermelon and feta salad is perfect. The pig candy is reminiscent of dipping your bacon in warm maple syrup, and is absolutely a guilty pleasure. Our family shared the full rack/full chicken ( half fried and half smoked). Everything was delicious and we all left feeling full! Great place, with welcoming and personable staff, and speedy service. The owner checked on all the tables with a smile. Great experience. We will be returning when we are in this area.

Taking me back to my roots! This is some of the best BBQ I have tasted in the bay area! The sauce that the meat is marinated in is delicious and if you like sauce on your BBQ they have a variety of flavors that are all delicious too. The portions are spot on; the mac n cheese, collard greens, and corn bread are awesome; and the country music takes this girl back to Florida. Their Southern hospitality is a bonus, and they made my family, with toddler and baby in tow, feel welcome and appreciated! Well be seeing you next time we are craving some BBQ!
