I have to begin by saying that I was REALLY looking forward to trying Burger Nine for the first time and assumed it to be a great experience! ... that being said that old saying When you assume... relates. Now I love Burger joints! They represent to me a litmus test of the health of a community ( can the community sustain a home grown burger restaurant rather then the sole consuming fast food joints ). And burger joints hold a warm and fuzzy place as a classic American cultural icon. So when my wife and I walked in we were initially pleased. Funky and fun decor... Cool enough. We ordered the $9 bacon burger, a half / half order of garlic fries and onion rings, and a couple beers. Ok... not rocket science...good ole Americana Burger combo! We took our beers outside to a nice patio area... and immediately turned around and walked back in because of the smell of sewage ( bad septic? ). After about 15 minutes our fries and onion rings arrived... Ok. It would have been nice if they came WITH the burgers but whatever. Fries were cold, limp, and covered in oil from the fryer with a smear of garlic... onion rings were overdone... The only saving grace was the portions were so tiny that we didnt have to suffer too long through eating the mess...if we had actually eaten the mess ( which we didnt ). Burgers arrive 5 minutes later... Ok. Big burger with a pickle spear, two small slices of tomato, and one limp lettuce leaf ( little ). My wifes tomatos were both the ends of the tomato ( 90% core...no tomato) so she went back up to the bar to ask for different tomatos. She said to the server these are not $9 burger tomatoes...can I have different ones?. The server took two more and handed them to my wife.... Now it gets interesting... I hear an accented male voice say Pinche Cabron... the server gasps...a woman standing by the counter says oh my... and my wife turns around and says to the cook Excuse me!.... I HOPE you were not talking to me!. Did I mention we speak Spanish? Soooo.... I take a deep breath... and let my wife work it out ( respect ). I sit and look at my burger ( not hungry now )... She comes back and sits down and says "oh boy...that was fun Im sure hungry now!" ( sarcasm ). She tries the burger... "Overdone" she says. A couple minutes later I finally give in and take a bite... Burnt crunchy charcoal texture... burnt taste. Ok. Im done... I take the burger up to the counter and set it down. The server finishes the order shes taking and then turns to me. " Was it burnt?" she asks... I didnt have to say a thing... she knew. "Yes" I said..."but I think the main problem is that your cook called my wife a f***ing a**hole..." ( Here is when I turn to the cook ) "Yo hablo español..." ( " I speak Spanish" ). The cook turns his eyes down...the server blushes and gives me my money. "I am SO sorry about this" she says. I do have to say at this point that the woman who was working at the counter was GREAT! She was happy, engaging, and helpful. But servers doth not make a meal... So folks... if you want to drive WAY out of the way to pay WAY too much for food that is either WAY underdone, WAY overdone, or burnt.... and then get insulted and sworn at in Spanish... ...then Burger Nine is your kind place! Buen provecho!

next time i want to throw away $15.00 on a burger and onion rings i know where to go...6:15 pm and i enter the restaurant and there are only three customers in there but every table is filthy and the hostess is perched behind her register talking to some guy...she took my order after she got off the phone and handed me a warm can of dr pepper (great) and i proceeded to find a clean table..i then requested someone wipe the tables off since there was the employees were oblivious to the mess and the hostess took a wet rag and wiped the table leaving me there to retrieve a napkin and dry it off..first came the onion rings and ten minutes later the brookdale burger arrived...the green onions had that old taste they get when they re not fresh and the burger couldnt be picked up by hand because the bottom bun was saturated with blue cheese juice...was i bummed?...yeah!..at this price its more than just quality meat...its the presentation and needless to say i left their product on the table as an indication that it was inedible!...i doubt anyone will notice because the employees just didnt seem to care...will i return ?..NO ..NEVER...will i tell my friends..oh yeah!...SHAME ON YOU EMPLOYEES FOR DROPPING THE BALL on what started out as a good business!...

The worst so called restaurant Ive ever been to. Rude and disrespectful waitress. I complained about the food and she called the owner. Handed me the phone, made me talk to him about my complaint. Well, they screwed up our order, how is that my fault. All I wanted was the money I was overcharged for the food I never received. Wow. It was like pulling teeth to get them bucks back. I told the lady, I also want the top back too, Im not tipping you for this food or service.... What kind of place prompts you to pay and tip before you get your food.... A rip off place. Avoid this place at all costs. Eat dirt and drink urine before going to this dump!

Liked it the first time I went. Next time I went in June and right from the start from taking our order was some of the worst service I have encountered. And then when our food was delivered partially cold and the cheese burnt to a bubbly crisp and then was berated when asked for a refund and then made to talk to the owner via phone in order to beg for the partial credit refund. I shall call it Burger No

My Wife, 4 year old Son and I drove up from Ben Lomond to have lunch here. A little out of town (Boulder Creek) but it was a fun place. The burgers were really good, I had a Brookdale, and it was excellent. The full basket of fries is bigger than youd expect (compared to other burger places in the area). The atmosphere is nice, and the other patrons there were very friendly. Would go again for sure.

Absolutely love this place, my family and I go here a few times a week, the portions are large and beautiful, you get what you pay for, sometimes the service can be a bit slow but it is constantly busy and this is to be expected and is understandable. Love having a local business that is so clean and friendly and truly takes time to get your order right and fresh.

Good fish and chips, but really disappointed that they had no coffee or tea at all. Nice looking coffee bar off to the left, but it is not functional due to no hot water. What?!? I really do not understand that at all. It was apparently turned off in January, so why coffee and tea is still on the menu is beyond me. False advertising maybe? Very, very sad.

Oh, my gosh, the sweet potato fries! Worth the trip in and of themselves. Prices are a bit high, but I usually take half of their big burgers home for another meal. Also check out their vegetarian burgers and extensive selection of bottled sodas. Added November 2013: Under new management, there are now white sweet potato fries and no soda collection.
