I know these are fighting words when I say .... "Best Ramen Place" in Sacramento! But, simply put, it is. As all ramen aficionados will attest, good ramen begins with the broth. Unlike the other establishments in town, the broth here is rich yet not overpowering. Its the perfect savory but not one note or salty. The noodles are clearly made fresh either by the restaurant or a very good supplier. Its just the right amount of firmness that gives you the slight chew and bounce you want. The best broth, in my humble opinion, is the Kuro. It is laced with black garlic oil that is reminiscent of garlic truffle oil. The soft boiled soy egg is perfectly cooked with the center of the yolk soft and slightly runny. Ive also had the pleasure of trying their Tan Tan Men, a spicy ramen with ground beef. So so good. I would be remiss if I did not mention the Fried Chicken Wings appetizer. I could eat a bucket of it. My other favorite is the Japanese fried rice or Chohan. This fried rice will make you give up Chinese fried rice and, I love Chinese fried rice. Please, please visit if you are a fan of ramen or want to try it. Beware, however, that if this is your first ramen experience, you run the risk of never enjoying another bowl elsewhere ever.

Wow.. I must say that I am impressed with Ryujin. The broth was delicious, the egg was cooked to perfection, and the service was quick. I came in Sunday night around 7:30 pm and they were packed! Luckily for us, we only waited ten minutes for a party of five. Soon after though, people were waiting outside. Alright onto the ramen! Upon reading other reviews, I decided to go with the half black (garlic oil) and half red (spicy) Tonkotsu ($8.95) and it was a great choice. The ramens broth was rich but not too salty, the egg was cooked perfectly to have a runny yolk, and the noodles werent chewy yet firm enough. The only thing I would ask for is that the Cha-su isnt cut too thin. What really impressed me was how they were able to cook the egg to have a runny yolk yet still have the soy sauce flavor inside the egg! I will definitely be coming back to Ryujin.

Phenomenal! I have eaten at many ramen houses throughout Cali., and this one has won me over. The customer service is top shelf, the location is nice (plenty of parking), and the ramen is done very well. The broth is quite nice, the pork is very tender, the noodles are just right, the vegetables are just right, and the seasoned egg is amazing! I am also a fan of traditional yakitori, which they have and is wonderful. It is a 45-minute drive for me to eat here, and I am now going to try and eat here at least once a week.

I was so excited to see a ramen house that was rated higher than Shoki that we had to stop in for lunch on a cold afternoon while we were visiting town. While there were some definite pros (good price, large portions), the ramen and even the gyoza we started with lacked flavor. Maybe the flavors were too subtle for my palate, but Ill take Shokis rich, flavorful broth any day. On the upside, the service was quick and attentive. But well stick with Shoki just a few blocks away for our ramen fix when were in Sacramento.

Some people compare this place to Shoki, but in my opinion, it is hands down Ryujin Ramen for ramen in this town. You can read my review for Shoki if you want. Ryujin makes pretty good ramen at a really good price and do so in a friendly, professional and unpretentious atmosphere. Their broth is well seasoned and their food is fresh. So far everything Ive had on the menu has been either really delicious or pretty tasty. As a ramen house, this place is the one to go to. Open late and always tastes great. :)

The noodles in my tan tan ramen had good chew and mouth feel with perfect texture. The broth and the amount of ground pork were just right. Great that they give you the option to pay for extra noodles; some restaurants wont let you have extra noodles, even when you are willing to pay. This was my first visit here. The restaurant can use more decorations than some generic prints of palm trees. Service was attentive and quick. Good place for kids and groups.

Ive never tried an authentic Japanese ramen before (not top ramen) and was surprised there was one located in Sacramento so I ordered the miso ramen and it was absolutely delicous. The broth was super tasty and each topping was sorted perfectly. The noodles were not too thick and the egg was perfectly cooked. The waitresses always checked if you had enough water or if you were satisfied with your meal. Just being there made my night and left full.

I first found out about this place from in fact ironically from The Sacramento Bee when they was showing off about restaurants around december of 2012. I came to the restaurant when Sacanime rolled in, and I came to try the ramen. I tried it and it was the best ramen I ever tasted, way better then the ramen you buy at the stores to cook yourself. This was by far the greatest place I ever found, And will be looking forward coming here.

Its always a pleasure to come eat here. Its always busy and for good reason; the food is awesome! Even with a wait, you wont be waiting for too long. The service is fast and the food is always on point. I decided to try something new by ordering the Tsukemen and I would order it again. If youre on a time crunch, you can also check it Raijin. Same owners, same great food and located right across the street from the other :)

I hate to write this because more people will flock to this place, but this is the best ramen place in the Sacramento area. Im talking all the way from Davis/Stockton to Auburn/Placerville and possibly beyond. There is no other place that serves better ramen, which is why there are so many people that love to eat here despite the 30min-1hr wait. Please dont go here, because I enjoy eating here

100% love this place. Theres sometimes a wait, but at most Ive only ever had to wait 10 minutes max. Waiters/waitresses are really nice. The food comes out really quickly (which thankfully is a good thing because Im always so hungry when I get here). I prefer the Shoyu Ramen but the Kuro Tonkatsu Ramen is a great choice too! Always get an extra egg. You wont regret it (if you like eggs, that is)!

Love this place! Come here every time after my trip to Tahoe on the way back to the Bay Area. The food here is delicious and reasonably priced! The only issue is that this place is almost always crowded (regardless of day). Its also closed from 2-5pm. One thing we do is call ahead to put our name on the waiting list (they dont take reservations) which helps save us waiting time.

I feel like this place is a bit overrated. The people who recommended it to me said it was "authentic Asian". Maybe "authentic Sacramento" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The ramen I had seemed like something I can whip up in the kitchen in about 5 minutes with higher quality ingredients for the price. The ambience is nice though and the staff were courteous, professional and friendly.
