A restaurant has no service will not go a long way especially with furious competition at South Bay restaurants. I hope the restaurant owner or management see this review. The restaurant lacks management. The attitude of the service group is no care. I dont think we will go to this place ever again. I got one of the worst customer service from this place! My family loves Ramen. We are regulars for many Ramen restaurants at South Bay. My husband and I went to this place over a weekend lunch. We waited 40 minutes at the table without any food served. Other than took the initial order, the waiter never came to our table again. After I requested, they told me that they had a big table which slowed them down to produce the Ramen. Well, understand, but what stopped the waiter to serve our ordered drink? After one hour and 20 minutes wait, finally got our Ramen, we had to box them to go because we need to pick up the kid. Because of that incident, we hadnt gone to this place for a while. Yesterday, we were at Mountain View downtown, my kids asked Ramen for dinner. I thought we might need to give this place one more chance. We went there. I looked around, not very busy, no big group. Great, we shouldnt have problem this time. I was totally wrong! We ordered drinks, appetizer, and Ramen. Waited, waited. The table next to us finished their noodle, paid check, left. A group of new guest sat down, made order. After their appetizer and Ramen came, and we still only had drinks on our table. I asked a passed by waiter why we werent served. Then our waiter quickly went to their computer to place our order, and came back to tell me that the salad I ordered was out. I asked him why other table came after us already ate their Ramen, and we still didnt have any food on our table. He said he forgot to place our order!!!! I was furious.(Normally I would be OK if the first time happened. But it was two times in the same restaurant.). I asked to speak with the manager. I was told manager was not there. The one who was in charge was the chief who was busy cooking. Our seat was right next to the open cooking station. The chief was next to us. He saw us arguing. But he didnt seem to care. Finally a waitress came, apologized, food quickly came. But again when we were ready to pay the bill, no one came to our table. We had to really wave our hands to get attention. When we got the bill the salad which was out of order was still shown on the bill. Plus my kids complained about the meat in their Ramen had funny taste, tasted like bad meat. Well, a restaurant sloppy at management, what you expect they manage their kitchen, food storage and keep the food freshness!

5 stars for their pork belly and 5 stars for their perfectly soft boiled egg. Everything else was just okay though. As much as I loved their decor, service, and pork belly/egg, the ramen itself was just okay. And for me to give a ramen shop a high rating, their noodles and their broth have to be good. But the restaurant itself is super nice. I seriously loved their interior designer or whoever designed this place because even the bathrooms look nice! Its kinda like a club with all the hip hop/rap music blasting inside the place. They also have very attentive servers, so it was a joy to dine there. I ordered their tonkotsu ramen with pork belly and gyoza. The bowl was about $10 and you get a decent amount of stuff. Theyre pretty generous with the pork belly which was awesome. They give you chunks of pork that are sweet, tender, and juicy. Their egg is also perfection. The yolk was perfectly gooey in the center! The noodles are not that great and the broth didnt have that much flavor. I got the the medium spice but it wasnt spicy at all. Good thing they chili oil and you can add a generous amount of that in your soup for a bit of a kick. The gyozas were also just okay but they were very very oily. Overall, I did enjoy my experience here and I would come back again. Its located at the end of the street next to Blue line pizza!

I tried the tonkatsu ramen with pork belly on my first visit. The ramen noodles were al dente with good chewiness, but the broth was far too rich for my taste - it was like drinking fat. The ramen bowl comes with big chunks of pork, but virtually no vegetables - a few pieces of undercooked cabbage, and some green & white onions. Tried to chicken paitan deluxe ramen on my second visit. The noodles were perfect and the broth and rich & flavorful - albeit too sweet for my taste. Again, I got a few pieces of cabbage and onions but otherwise no discernable vegetables. I also got the tofu salad (gotta get veggies from somewhere) and that was the highlight - the tofu was melt-in-your-mouth soft, and the salad greens were fresh & crunchy. The dressing was not too overpowering. One of the servers gave us a pro tip to try the tofu with the chili sauce, and it was really good! Overall: great on a rainy day, but otherwise unimpressive.

Okay. The street view and photo do not do this place justice. The environment is so authentic as is the food. Having spent the greater part of 2013 in Japan I was so thrilled to come across this place and to have probably the best bowl of ramen Ive ever had! The spiciness is flavorful without being overwhelming. The broth was not as watery as most ramen restaurants serve and was savory. The pork I got in my bowl was layered in so much flavor. I spent some time talking with the staff about the recipes and they explained the heritage behind it all. They were so friendly and welcoming. The decor is what brought me in and the ramen will keep me going. An absolute must eat if youre in the area!

Just ate there. Really really good, good service, had chicken ramen and it was awesome, you get a bowl of ramen, not too salty but actually flavorful, and a chicken leg-thigh on the side, but heres my beef: The noodles are like discount American spaghetti noodles bought at Wal-Mart. So, so, epic and yet, these really lousy noodles. I mean, use S&S Saimin, that would be a huge improvement. Maybe the noodle-puller over at Maru Ichi can be hired to do you up some noodles. Seriously, run of the mill Vietnamese "Bun" noodles are better, your noodles right now are like school lunch. So please get your noodles squared away because I want to throw more money your way for epic food.

My favorite spot in Mountain View for casual Japanese eats. This has to be the one restaurant I frequent the most on Castro. The ramen base packs a good punch of flavors without being overly greasy (Im looking at you, Shalala, Santouka and Ramen Dojo) and the half-boiled egg is some of the best Ive ever had. I also love their curry and combo dishes, and the tonkatsu with oroshi is actually my favorite item on the menu. I love that their side dishes in the combo menu are carefully curated and cooked with seasonal produce, not that horrible seaweed salad stuff that you find in bento dishes at other places.
