I cant say that I was very impressed with the ramen here. I had the Spicy Kenta Ramen, which uses a spicy tonkotsu broth. Tonkotsu broth is normally rich and full bodied, but Kentas broth was more thin and bland. I like that they had hot sesame oil at each table because I had to use a lot of it to give the ramen some flavor. The noodles were also a sore point. They were thin and felt more like instant ramen out of a package. The one good thing about the ramen was the piece of kakuni. Although there was only one piece, it was tender and had a pleasant sweet taste from mirin and sugar. Im not sure if Id come back here, but if I do, Id probably just get an order of kakuni with a side of rice.

Ughhh!!!! This place doesnt serve good ramen not even Okay ramen... We should have known as it was almost empty on a holiday while any other restaurant was absolutely full. The broth doesnt quite have any flavor. They charged us $0.75 for extra spicy and it was even mild..... The egg is not flavored is just a boiled egg dumped into the soup right before serving it. As for the noodles, well it felt like we are eating a cup noodles that costs $10.50. If I am paying that much I am expecting a real damn good ramen! Very very disappointing, but we had a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer that was actually good. But is it worth coming here again hoping their sushi?! I dont think so!

Went here with my boyfriend at around 1pm on a Saturday. Place was pretty deserted, so we were seated right away. Food came quickly, though the appetizer came at the same time as the entrées. We ordered chicken Karaage for appetizer and for entrees, we had a vegetable ramen and a chasu ramen. We liked the karaage (though not the best Ive tasted). My boyfriend liked his vegetable ramen, but my chasu ramen was meh. It was a bit bland for my taste, so I went crazy adding pepper to it. Lol. If i had no other options, I would probably come back. But I dont see myself craving for their food in all honesty.

In an interesting mistake, we learned that there is a Japanese food called "karake" which, despite the similar name, is actually nothing like "karaage." We didnt try the karake, but the karaage was ok (the thin, lighter breading style). The ramen portions were huge and had corn and tofu in addition to the usual fixins. We both enjoyed the spicy kenta (tonkatsu broth) but werent fans of the super-sweet meat used or the sweetness of the additional (+0.75) spice. The surrounding area is pretty nice - we watched the sunset (indirectly) and some planes periodically flying overhead.

Kenta Ramen is seriously a gem in Foster City. Its located in a far away plaza somewhat near the tip of Foster City and can be hard to find if youre not from the area. While I havent tried their ramen, I have tried their udon, and it is phenomenal! I love that they offer udon and ramen but with the same flavors - you can just choose which type you want. While there are a lot of ramen spots in the Bay Area, theres not too many that serve udon. I am very happy that Kenta Ramen serves both! Service is great and really quick! I will definitely be back for their amazing udon.

I couldnt stand traffic and made a detour on the last exit before the San Mateo bridge. I was getting hangry and wanted some filling after my workout. I ordered the mini tonkatsu ramen bowl (decent) and fried chicken karaage (meh). I would come back here again for a quick fix. I came here around 7pm on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty.

Great tonkotsu ramen and seriously HUGE bowl of noodles. Broth is very rich, very slightly oversalted, but not so much that I couldnt finish. Chashu was tasty and tender, and the whole bowl was delicious. The torikawa yaki (grilled chicken skin) was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly crispy--it was the best Ive ever had!

Went here for New Years and it was great! It wasnt too busy when we went and the food was great especially considering the price ! I really enjoyed the beef tongue and the agedashi! I was very happy with the mini bowl of Ramen! It was the perfect size! One of my favorite ramen places in Foster City!

Tried going to the Thai restaurant in the same plaza, but ended up here. Much easier to fit lunch and conversation as the restaurant was busy, but quieter environment. Ramen was standard, but nothing that stood out exceptionally.

The food(Ramen) was pretty good! The restaurants decor wasnt bad nor was the price too expensive for what you get in Foster City! The service was fair, but the lighting couldve been better. Overall definitely worth going back!

The black garlic pork ramen and chicken karaage wasnt bad. While this place doesnt compare to parlor, dojo and himawari its nice to come to once a while when I dont want to deal with parking or the crowds in San Mateo.

The ramen is just ok. Id rather go to San Mateo, but this place is close to my office and its a hot spot (the plaza) for those that work in the area. Prices are comparable. Get the chicken karaage, its juicy and tender.

It might be good but i walked when they wouldnt let me sit at booth (comfortable chair) and wanted me sit at table in middle of floor surrounded by other tables touching it... No space or privacy. Yuck

Excellent ramen place near SV. I had the black garlic ramen and it was delicious. The owners are Cantonese which it kind of weird but hey, the ramen was great so I cant complain.

Decent food, ramen portions are a bit small but the okonomiyaki was pretty hearty. I still prefer Menya Ramen though.
