I didnt think I would write this review, but after suddenly having a horrible bought of explosive diarrhea several hours after consumption while at a gathering with several close friends, my mind was changed. I decided on this fateful day to grab a bite to eat while out and about on Watt Avenue, aka "hooker hotel and abandoned building avenue." The depressing atmosphere of the area didnt bother me too much because I am from Detroit, and Ive lived here in North Highlands long enough that Im used to the "Git R Done" guy shouting racist obscenities at the 7-11 across the street. My expectations were not high, so the atmosphere was not particularly problematic. Indeed, the store was fairly well kept up to Quiznos standards: unkept bathroom; useless, poorly-designed, confusing menus; and amoral "pop" music blaring from the speakers. But I didnt stick to the table, so I wasnt /too/ upset. I was nearly the only person there and arrived at one of the many lulls--though I have never seen this location busy. Still, the woman behind the counter this afternoon managed to be impatient and surly with me, even though I made it quite clear I was having trouble with the menu and deciding what to get. Subway has this neat thing called "helpful employees" who do this service called "make suggestions." I know Im a troublesome customer when it comes to deciding, but rushing me to get back to your break or whatever you were doing was uncalled for, and I felt like going to Carls Jr. right next door. For the record: I worked at that Carls Jr. a decade+ ago--I did not want to go there. I wanted something passably healthy. Alas! I ended up ordering a turkey pesto torpedo--whatever that is. Turns out, it was a sandwich with less bread. Had I not been rushed or had the menu been well-designed, perhaps I would not have made that mistake, but I accepted my error and moved on. The sandwich itself was relatively unimpressive. Other than being flat from the flatbread, there were very few vegetables, and the pesto sauce--which I believed to be the source of my gastro-intestinal problems--was bland. I ended up dipping the whole thing in the provided horseradish sauce. As for the drink, I originally tried for an Arnold Palmer, but the tea was super-funky, as though it had not been cleaned in days. At this point, I cut my losses. Next time: the Subway further up the street. UPDATE: an imperfect storm of circumstances drove me to this same location, but I received better service. I was neither rushed nor spoken down to. Used my own sauce this time.

This is the WORST location I have ever been to! I had a coupon from a book my childs school was selling, I asked before I ordered if I could use the coupon at this location, the manager looked at both sides of the coupon and said yes it is redeemable at this location. So I ordered for myself and my 4 children. When I went to pay they refused the coupon! I asked to talk to the main manager and they refused to provide a phone number! I asked the manager why she had said it was fine to use and now was refusing it and she said she hadnt properly read the coupon when she first looked at it. I asked her for some other sort of discount for her mistake and she refused. I asked what would be done with the food since I wasnt going to buy it without the coupon and she said it would be given to the homeless. So rather than allowing me to save my $10 off of my order of 5 sandwiches she would rather give my food away for free. I called the corporate offices and was told I would be sent some sort of coupon or reimbursement for the managers mistake, I am still waiting for that 7 months later. Horrible service, very rude management, ridiculous policies and procedures. Now I know to go in and order some good food and the homeless in the area will eat good that day. Not a bad deal for them!

The owner of the franchise is just delightful and runs an excellent store. My usual order is kind of specialized but the employees are always happy to accommodate me and never complain about my pickiness. Everyone who works there is very friendly and great customer service. Love this place.

Food is always delicious and fresh. Far better service and food than those underground train sandwich shops.
