So I deleted my crummy 1-star review. I went there this morning. There are several differences now: a) they have a few meat items - including a steak and eggs dish labeled as "roast beef hash" which is not a hash at all but rather a steak, potatoes and egg dish. b) the servings are enormous. c) with the exception of the sullen, depressive tall stringy male waiter, the female staff are friendly and responsive. d) the menu is more focused - and the scrambles are terrific. good Mexican-ish dishes. There are still a few problems. a) dishes are incredibly bland - tomatillo sauce has no kick, salsa on the side was not spicy at all, pico de gallo had no chile; everything needed salt and spice, and Im not a salt kind of guy usually. b) the breakfast sausage, on the side, was VERY VERY VERY bland. c) the coffee was somewhat bitter, but maybe I ordered the wrong kind. d) there is NO FREAKING PARKING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Every single spot on Saturday morning was taken - their lot was packed - we had to park 3 BLOCKS AWAY!! Every single spot around the place is weirdly permitted. You cant park 15 minutes without a local permit! Very anti-business. They need to lobby the city to fix this. Or maybe the neighbors just really, really dont want a restaurant there... Not sure why you cant park in the empty state lot across the street when its not in use but you cant. So, I think when they spice up the food a bit and get the parking figured out, this place could be awesome. Good healthy affordable (YES!) food in a nice room - pleasant outdoor seating too - in the neighborhood. Yum! I look forward to giving them 4 or 5 stars next time! Also - note - CASH OR CHECKS ONLY. NO CREDIT CARDS! Dunno whats up with that, kind of weird. Great with kids too - there were plenty there - they have lots of high chairs and are very friendly to kids/babies.

This place is a hidden gem and opens 365 days a year until 2pm each day. From the outside, it looks really small. However it has more than 10 tables in doors and they do have outside sitting. We waited for at least 30 minutes around noon and time went by really fast since we were busy chit chatting. The server came and took our order fairly quickly. However the food took time to be delivered to our table. I ordered the avocado scramble which was really good. It came with the rosemary bread which was delicious. The server asked me if I wanted salsa. I said yes, for my eggs. And I asked her jam and butter for my bread. When the bill arrived, we noticed additional charges for side items which were for jam and salsa. I didnt expect to be charged $0.75 cents for each item. I wish the server would have told me its extra cost. I dont mind paying but I thought restaurants usually serve those items for free. Server was not tentative in refilling water and etc. And the bathroom does not have baby diaper changing table, I had to change my daughters diaper on the chairs. I dont like doing it but no choice. Also, they didnt have napkins in the bathroom. Thats why one star less for them. Besides that, food was great.

I was shown this place by a fellow vegan. They actually have a vegan menu with reduced prices shown, which is awesome. Restaurants are generally willing to omit dairy and meat items from dishes to make the vegan, but seldom offer a reduced price for the omission of these relatively expensive ingredients. Vegetables, beans, and rice are cheap, the meat and cheese are not, so as a vegan, it is a little frustrating to have to pay for ingredients I do not want. If I have to pay for them, sometimes I ask for them on the side to give to a impoverished person after I leave. So, yesterday I go in. The vegan menu still has the reduced prices, but after I enjoyed the very good meal, the bill I received had the price for the non-vegan prepared dish. I asked and was told sorry, we updated our prices. Seems a bit late to "update" the prices after Ive ordered and eaten the food, but Im no lawyer. Sad day. Guess Ill have to find a new favorite breakfast place. Couple other things to note about this place: they are cash only, but do have a fee-free ATM onsite, there is always a line, and they do not serve hot chocolate. I hope this review has been helpful. Cheers!

While this use to be a place we loved to dine for breakfast today ruined it. The food has always been delicious but the service was terrible. We put our name in and we told it would be about 25 minutes. We watched as new parties came in and placed their name on the same list only to be seated before us! After about 35 minutes and two parties that came after being seated we spoke with the lady at the front counter. She merely stared back after we mentioned this predicament of being passed up. Not only did she not address the issue immediately, she did not acknowledge anything and simply went back to the other person standing next to us. This used to be one of our favorite spots but I doubt we will be dining here again after this experience. We ended up leaving after they did nothing to resolve the issue. If you are looking for good food this is an option, however youd better accept the fact that the service will be poor and they may pass you over for someone else.

Best breakfast you will ever have!!! This place is a gem. I heard of it through a family member and figured I would give it a shot. Key thing: its always busy, so plan to go early, or make sure your not starving when you get there or at least have a snack to much on, because you could wait up to an hour or more. But the wait is so worth it. The food is absolutely delicious. The cool thing is all there dishes are unique with there own flavors, but there all so good. There coffee is also amazing.. it will definitely wake you up in the morning. One of my favorite things there is actually not a main dish, its there rosemary bread. That stuff is something I would give my left arm for. I mean, Its delicious toasted, not toasted, with jelly, dipped in anything. Its so good. Please check out this place and all the good food there making.

Best pancakes of my life! They have banana/blackberry and blueberry/cornmeal always on the menu....which are awesome.....but they have seasonal options that are almost all amazing. They had lemon poppyseed, strawberry cream cheese, pumpkin, peach, you name it! The only 2 kinds that I had a hard time finishing were the dark chocolate raspberry, and the peanut butter chocolate.....only order one of those at a time, they are rich! The staff is always awesome and have come to know me and my awesome partner as regulars and always treat us well;-) they have many other delicious, breakfast options that are delicious but those pancakes are seriously like crack!

Do not come here on a weekend for brunch unless you want to wait an hour or so. They dont take reservations, and there was about 20 people waiting to be seated. The food was good, but nothing to die for. I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes. I would think something like this would be sweet and probably wouldnt require much syrup, if any. However, the stuffed pancakes, although good, werent that flavorful. Id stick with just the "naked cakes." I also got a side of bacon, which was delightful; crispy and delicious, not under-cooked and chewy.
