We found this stellar taqueria (pun intended) during a day visit to Sacramento and we were quite pleased with our meal and visit. I had many questions before placing my order and the cashier was friendly and patient. My companion ordered a couple of different menu items and she kindly suggested a more affordable way of combining them into a combo. My shrimp tacos were generously-sized and the accompanying sauce was flavorful. My companion found his portions to be generous and very filling. Im not a huge fan of salsas or anything overly spicy, but found Taqueria Estrellas to be delicious. I ordered a fruit smoothie which the cashier forgot to make, but it was immediately made when we reminded them. I was surprised (due to my cultural ignorance) that the smoothie was served warm, but it was delicious nonetheless. The servers were very sweet and friendly. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular customer.

I wanted to give this place 4 stars for the food, it is very tasteful; however, my last 3 visits have been very unpleasant. Two days ago I came to buy a batido and a shake at 8pm, and the cashier in the front told me they stop serving them at 8. I asked if she was sure about this, because I shop here very often and other cashiers have made batidos for me close to 10pm, and she said she was sure and couldnt help me...Today I came in at 4:14 pm and bought 3 tacos, it is now 4:49 and they are barely making them as I sit here. I have asked for my tacos 3 times by now. In this instant as I type, they are serving my tacos and the lady that brought them said the cashier made a mess and switched everyones order. Needless to say, I will not be coming back. The cashiers act and do things based on how they feel, not the ethic they want to represent.

The prices are very reasonable. I usually get Sopes $2.59 Im quite satisfied with one. They have different juices, agua frescas. I went one Friday and they had a Mariachi band. The staff have always been friendly. I dont drink but they do have a bar and a lot of beer choices. This time I had nachos with Chili Verde as my meet choice. The meat is very tender, spicy and abundant. Which reminds mess I like the chips they dont have that acetic after taste. Oh! And the salsa bar usually has 4 or 5 salsas, pico de Gallo, roasted jalapenos, radishes, a coleslaw, red onions, and I think a couple other things I cant remember. You could make a meal of the chips and salsa. Anyway go check it out for yourself.

I wanted to give four stars for the quality of the food, the large portions, and good prices. I cant because the food made my husband sick. He has a food allergy that we tried explaining. They said they understood completely. Then they fed him corn tortillas hand made and dusted with wheat flour to prevent sticking. We told you he has celiac disease. We explained what that meant, what gluten is, what ingredients he cant have. Dont say you understand, and assure us you can accommodate, if you dont understand. Celiac disease is serious. Its not like lactose intolerance. Its not just uncomfortable. Youre in food service, get it together.

Definitely one of the top Mexican foods in south sacramento. Im Hispanic myself, and I go here whenever Im around this area. So you can see how good of a place it is... I took my time to go online JUST to write a review on this place. Im not going to get into the menu too much, all Im going to say is that you have to explore yourself and try everything because everything is great. Especially the burritos;) hahaha

Its really sad that they dont care about you.. No matter what ,you end up paying for their mistakes and when you prove it was their mistake all you get from them is sorry!! Dont take me wrong food is not the best the service its ok.. Normally go there on weekends for menudo but I think is time to find a new place.. This is the second time that messed up with my order...

Everything looked great until while i was waiting for my food there was a girl at the bar that was obviously very sick and was handling tortillas with NO gloves on and i caught her not once but 5 TIMES she coughed right on the tortias she was packaging. If a outbreak happens after eating here You can thank the bartender!!!!

They have really bad service here, the food is good but the fact that they only give you 3 tortillas for a plate and not all of plates comes with tortillas. Also, they give us tortillas that arent the ones we order. They charge you extra and never bring you the tortillas or they bring it when your done.

Ordered a taco and a chimichanga. Taco was okay, but very bland. Chimichanga was put into to-go container too early melting the Styrofoam and leaving a nasty burnt plastic taste to every bite until I threw it away. This is not a taqueria, it is a nice version of Taco Bell.

Iwsd there for lunch few days ago I ordered a quesadilla the food was terrible grossly sloppy I told the cashier that food look gross and dirty I took it but ate j half later got sick that day ,, I would stay away from this restaurant and its locations...

Delicious food and casual atmosphere. I love the salsa bar and nachos. Large selection of authentic Mexican food. Their juices are delicious and fresh and there is live mariachi music on Thursdays. My favorite Mexican restaurant in town!

They have really bad service. The servers give you attitude even if they are wrong. They charge you for extra for tortillas. I order chocolate milk and it was just sitting there. In tell I spoke up they gave it to me.

The food is so good(I had the molcajete), but the service is bad. Maybe its because it seems they are short staffed for the traffic theyre receiving. Still worth the food, but I know next time to order food to go.
