ONLY REASON TO DRIVE TO REDONDO: These reviews are so ridiculous. Complaints about personal details down to the weight of the menus?! This spot is great. Dont overthink it. Great happy hour, nice wine list, love getting multiple dishes and splitting with my man because everything is great. Love the duck carnitas! We've always had great service. Not sure why others haven't? Always nice to sit in marina & enjoy the air. Lots of locals do come here which does make it dressy optional. It's very come as you are without judgment. We ended up there for new years eve and it was super fun. Great bar atmosphere & awesome band. The dinner was outstanding. Salt rock was a standout. Don't listen to the negative reviews. There is not much quality food in the south bay and I don't enjoy fighting the douchenbags for overpriced Mexican food on the pier. South bay has great dive bars & 2 piers that I never go to. Baleen is the only reason we make the drive from the westside to redondo.

My husband and I received a very rude welcome from one of the servers at this restaurant. She made a big fuss about us not being able to sit in the main dining room for happy hour but then she finally changed her mind and let us sit where we wanted. For the remainder of the night, she totally ignored us while serving every other table around us. I truly believe shes a racist. The manager ended up serving us for the remainder of our meal and was even our bartender. It was a very uncomfortable dining experience. The service here is HORRIBLE, the food is mediocre at best, and the prices are ridiculously high.

So this review is about our experience for brunch! We had such a good time the night before we, and the wedding party decided to go back for some brunch time ! I was so annoyed that our group paid for the bottomless mimosas and literally had two glasses and cut us off completely?! Everything came out slow and at the end of it all, instead of extending the help on splitting some checks they asked us to figure everything out on our own!? Its a shame because the night before really was great...its probably the day time managers fault but yea, most likely will NOT be coming back here!

This lovely, comfortable restaurant checks all the boxes for me. Great service, delicious food, superb bar, and beautiful views of the marina make this a must-try place. We dined here two nights in a row and had a wonderful experience both evenings. Tapas and appetizer selection is excellent. We tried a variety of these; I adored the crab dip, soft shell crab, and duck carnitas. My husband loved the lobster mac n cheese. Really lovely spot with great food.

Baleen Kitchen is a sweet spot to enjoy the ocean in RB. The chef is Spanish so I would stick with their tapas menu. The best thing I thin k is their cast iron skillet roasted potatoes with a pepper sauce. Sit in the lounge with a drink and a few friends and share all the tapas they offer together. Eat all the potatoes before they notice.

Great setting, wonderful food. Most of the time its nice and quiet allowing for conversation and privacy. Somewhat expensive but what would you expect for such a nice place. You can view the boats in the harbour while you eat. Sometimes it hard to find a parking spot close to the restaurant.

I found it to be a great location for a great meal. The bar and lounge area are always fun and theres a good happy hour. Its a more upscale restaurant but you feel very relaxed. The food is always perfect when Ive been there and its a great way to start the night.

I have eaten dinner there before and had good experiences; however, when I had brunch there with my father, we were consistently ignored. Once we were served, the food was cold, service was scant, and the beer was flat. Truly disappointing.
