I am not a fan of eating with my hands, so my really nice friend SZ had to agree to deal with the crabs for me in order to get me to come here with her. I have never been a fan of eating crabs, mainly because I would have to crack them myself and try really hard to wrangle the meat out, but when someone else does that for me? I LIKE THEM! ... It probably helps that the crabs here are good. And they give you buttaaaaaaaaaa... and I love butter! Anyway, starting at the beginning. Pacific Fish Center is on the Redondo Pier. Park in one of their parking lots, pay for it (unless its a holiday? I think its free then), and walk on over. Place your orders with the nice Korean ladies first and then someone will seat you. Sit down, put on your bibs (necessary), and get ready to get violent with some dead crabs (with the cool hammer they give you). We ordered their Dungeness crab, hwe-dub-bab, and fish & chips along with some Hite beer. The crab is fresh and juicy, delicious with the butter and other condiments on the table. I dont eat raw fish so I just looked at the hwe-dub-bab, but it looked really nice and fresh and Selina said it was delicious. I just took the salad-y part of it to eat with my food. The fish and chips were alright. Pretty good but nothing special. We got pretty full off of all this food though and it was a good meal. There is a restroom in the back but the sinks are outside so people can wash their hands easily since this is a pretty messy meal. SZ really likes this place and I can see why. I probably wouldnt seek this place out (because next time Im going to have to crack open those crabs myself) but I would not be opposed to coming back here ;) Probably more 3.5 stars but lets round up to 4 since SZ made me enjoy my time here.

Heres the procedure when you get here: Get in line to order, once you order at cashier, get your order #. Stand in another line to wait for your table & # to be called. Sit down & put bibs on to start eating. Yes, those mallets are for breaking the hard shells on the crabs =) Be ready to whack & whack the crabs!! Crabs: 5 stars (market price depending on weight. You can ask for a small crab if you think you cant finish it all) Yummy here because they catch them live out of the tanks & cook them right in front of you..so the meat is tender since its not frozen like youd buy in the supermarket. I guess that some people do not like the simple flavor of crabs without all the sauces & other extra flavorings mixed in with it. I enjoy it better the plain jane way, this way you have the option of dipping the crab meat into whichever sauce you prefer (butter/ spicy) & you can taste the actual sweet freshness of the crab meat without other flavors killing it. Good spicy fish soup; broth is very yummy... 4 stars Decor: B- (simple tables but great view of ocean & pier) Atmosphere: B- (Casual & family oriented) Food: A (fresh seafood) Service: C- (you have to hail down waitress/ waiters for water & extra stuff)

Tonys is one of my all-time favorite seafood restaurants. I have been coming here since I first set foot on the Pier some time back in the mists of the early 70s. I proposed to my first and my second wife here. I practically grew up on the Pier with Tonys. Tonys has everything-- great menu, great wine selection, excellent service, beautiful, calming, romantic atmosphere jutting out into the Pacific Ocean in full view of the Palos Verdes peninsula and the setting sun. I ate my first escargot here and still love the appetizer. Tonys is a little pricey, but not extremely so. But as another reviewer commented, it is a must-see restaurant and is well worth the cost. I have since moved to Colorado, but I return here whenever I visit family in southern California. Now, approaching ten years into my second marriage and going strong, my wife wants to make the trip back to Tonys and have me propose to her all over again. She doesnt have to twist my arm to get me to agree...

We came here for dinner on 1/28/16 and not only us but two other couples that were dining near us at tables. Met up later in the night at the ergentcare located at Providence Redondo beach. With my wife son and four other strangers suffering from finding unsafe levels of a naturally-occurring neurotoxin in crabs caught along the Pacific coast between Santa Barbara and the Oregon border(a type of microscopic marine algae called pseudo-nitzschia is responsible for producing the neurotoxin domoic acid. The toxin accumulates in the bodies of bigger sea creatures like shellfish)..... warming everyone the doctors over at the ergentcare said its common to see patients coming in with those kind of symptoms this facilty.

Perfect place to be but this restaurant is using the 3rd world system where u have to pay first, food is expensive but i have no complaint about it but all the utencils they are using make you lost your appetite cause they use the cheapest paper utencils in everything and you can see the soup is being absorbed by the paper plate dripping down the table. U even have to pay first.... wow, some people truly never have progress after a long time in business... Yup, wont ever go back here ever again...

Ordered: half dozen raw oysters: $10 Sashimi Lobster : $50 Everything was wonderful and fresh. The lobster was worth the ridiculous price. And heres why They served the lobster tail to use sashmi style. Afterwards, they fried it for us so we could nibble on the remaining bits of meat in the tail. They steamed the body and claws for us. So we got fresh lobster served to use 3 ways, raw, steamed, fried. It was large, meaty, and very good.

Very disappointed .I waited in line to buy some food too long, when i finally got to the cashier he said that for what I wanted to buy I had to get a number and wait until they call my number, so I did ,when my number finally got called, the guy that supposed to Help me with my order went inside, I waited like 5 more minutes, he never made it back to take my order... what? My dollars are not green enough??.

The crab so good! As with any shellfish, theres a process to getting your meat, but well worth it. The sashimi platter is great too. Very fresh and Im sure the view is awesome if you dont go at night. If you do, the reflection of the moon on the sea is really nice too. (Btw those two items with 2 pellegrino drinks came out to $130+, so its not cheap and may not fill up a hungry man... they also charge extra for rice)
