Been here a few times a while back, and previously I would have rated this place a 3, but just went here for lunch with coworkers and the food we got was pretty good! Not sure if they got better overall or just the sushi chef on duty is better, but the sushi I got today was probably the best Ive gotten in Poway so far. Doesnt beat some sushi places in Convoy, but for Poway, its surprisingly good. Scorpion roll was very tasty, large, filling, stuffed with a good amount of shrimp, was rolled well and didnt fall apart. The rice was very slightly mushier than I prefered, but not bad. My friends cherry blossom roll was loaded, and the fish texture and flavor was better than average. Previously I had gotten the lunch specials, and remembering not being impressed with the quality/price point, but today some of my coworkers ordered the specials and they looked larger than I remember and looked tasty (didnt taste it though). Value, visually at least, appears to be good. Service was fast and courteous, our group of 8 all got our orders quickly and no mistakes, and everyone was happy when we left. TL;DR if youre in Poway and dont want to make a drive to Convoy, give this place a try if youre craving Japanese food!

A great experience every time Ive been. I usually order sushi. Since most people are conscious of expensive sushi prices there is no shame in the cut rolls which are 50% off. Yes, you can walk away full having only spent $10 or so on sushi. They are very generous with their free sushi roll coupons which keeps me coming back. Cant wait for my next visit :)

Digital Lair

The best noodles in the area, no doubt. This location is notoriously bad for restaurants but they keep pushing onward so they are doing something good. The food is always great. Would give them 5 stars if they would bring appetizers "before" the main course. Happens here and at most Asian restaurants all the time.

Super affordable lunch combos. Great tea, ramen, and sushi selection. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Seating is limited, so call in advance if you have a larger party. Its authentic Japanese food and one of the best values for your dollar in Poway.

Tea is great but..Depressing chicken teriyaki, by far the worst in my life and Ive never sent any food back. But theres a first for everything. It tastes like food poisoning. But they didnt bill me for it, thats nice..

Excellent tonkatsu ramen, one of the few I drain the bowl on, one of the best you can get in the RB/Poway area. Nice service, and has good specials.

Great find tucked away in the corner food is really yummy - especially the pork belly ramen. And the sushi rolls are inventive and tasty!

its pretty good but fairly expensive for quality. most of their combo rolls are stuffed with imitation crab which makes it not a good value.
