Dan, your place sucks. Theres no way you can make your place better. Three times in a row with the worst experience Ive ever had. I cant believe I gave you another chance. Food may be good, but not worth the incompetence, disorganization of workers, and lack of customer service. Customer cuts in front of me, and I confront her. All I said was, "I have a phoned-in order too." And then this breezy says, "You should have spoken up." No apologies or anything! Then that made me mad so I raised my voice at her. I mean who wouldnt in my situation. Then the kicker is that the worker, Allison, defends her, saying I was the one being hostile. So I calm down. But how is Allison gonna just straight up defend the person in the wrong? If customer had apologized, I would have been fine with it. If Allison had apologized for the customer or apologized for the mix up, I would have been fine with it. But things just get worse when I tried to talk to Dan over the phone. He hears Allisons side of the story, and then he hears mine. After evaluating both of our stories, he tells me that hes going to trust his worker. So apparently the customer is never right. If you cut in line, youre in the right. If you defend the line cutter, youre in the right as well. So Dan tells me that Allison has asked me to leave, for which I am happy to oblige but after I get my order. So Dan puts Allison on the phone, and it looks like I am going to get my order as she prepares it but then am told I am not allowed to use my passport card, because Im "...a pain in the ass!" Now it may be okay to think that, however, I am still a customer. Not okay to use curse words towards a customer no matter what. Especially when young people are around. Left without our order. Will not return, and will spread the word to others to not visit this establishment. Ridiculous.

I have been here many times and I will certainly be back. The staff is really nice and very accommodating, they have a fun rotating selecting of beer and ciders, and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the food is hit or miss. I am a meat eater. Pulled pork is one of my favorite foods. This time they had a special of fries topped with pick-your-own goodies, for which I chose pulled pork. I hoped it would improve the pork but it is just mushy, over salted and the sauce is watery. I need to stop ordering it. The fries were good though! We ordered the ribs which were very good this time. The vinegar based cole slaw is always a great palate cleanser with all the rich foods. We also did the jerk wings which everyone loved! they had a strong flavor without being over seasoned or too spicy. They were actually even better reheated the next day in the toaster oven. Until next time Slow Hand...

I wasnt raised on real BBQ, I was raised on sticky crap from the bottle. I didnt think I BBQ and avoided eating it. Went a few times around Bay and I was coming around. But I am a convert after eating at Slow Hand. I love this place. I love the authentic BBQ food! So well done. My favorite is the German Potato Salad, not salad at all, but a warm tangy party in my mouth that warms me to my soul. The sauces are amazing! I havent had any BBQ I have liked as much as the BBQ at Slow Hand. Love the atmosphere and the staff is great. Real customer service, a thing rarely found these days. In a sea of mediocrity, this is the exception in food, service and atmosphere.

Im definitely showing up here again to try out the brisket or tri-tip. Anyway, heres some pointers: On the table are paper plates. Get one and locate the hot/sweet sauce. The delicious BBQ meat comes in a small serving bowl with rolls. Put sauce on roll and fill it with as much meat as possible. Cover that in sauce. Devour and repeat. I ran out of rolls with a 1/2 pound of pulled pork and asked for more at the bar. The "server" (you order at the counter then find a seat) quickly came back with more rolls. So dont be afraid to ask. If eating great BBQ off paper plates at a restaurant is not appealing to you, you might want to skip this place.

Went to slow hand today for lunch before the movies. My hubby and kids had been once before when they first opened, I had never been. We ordered the baby back ribs, pulled pork sliders, brisket sandwich and tri-tip sandwich. For sides we ordered mac and cheese ( 2 orders) beans and the coleslaw. I have to say we loved everything we ordered!! I especially loved my brisket sandwich! Meat was so flavorful and tender!! Had a bite of everyone elses and all was so good!! And to top it off the service was super friendly! The owner even came by to introduce himself and chat. We will be back!

Worst restaurant experience in my life. Paid over $60 for ribs and brisket. 1. Both types of ribs were bland under cooked and oven or microwave cooked. Not smoked or BBQ on a grill. Lol no grill or char marks. Nasty 2. Brisket was boiled then siered. not smoked or BBQ on a grill. 3. Potato salad!!! Ive never seen watery potato salad at a so called BBQ spot 4. The BBQ beans would have been good if the beans werent raw 5. Then I try a cracker to but those were stale 6. No customer service. Only at the register. Then ignored everyone. NEVER AGAIN

The bbq is excellent. The ribs melt in your mouth. The tri-tip crumbles under your fork. The brisket is moist and juicy. The links are medium spicy and full of flavor. The chicken is moist and not overly smokey. The cole slaw is delicious! The german potato salad is spectacular. They have a great selection of beers. My gf and I love this place! It is also reasonably priced and in a nice quiet location. The ONLY complaint I could come up with is the limited seating....but that is just a testament to their popularity.

Slow Hand is, simply put, the best bbq in the Bay Area. I have eaten at many bbq places around the Bay and nothing holds a candle to Slow Hand. I have had almost everything on the menu and every last dish and side dish are exceptional. If you live in Pleasant Hill you have no excuse to not go here. If you live in the wider Bay Area you need to still make it a point to visit Slow Hand. You will not be disappointed!
